Life in a Lockdown #5
And so Tuesday has rolled its way around again, can you believe it?
Of course at the moment Tuesday is the day I team up with Futures and talk about how Life in a Lockdown has treated us for the past 7 days. Once again a huge thank you to Jenni from Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for the original idea.
Don’t forget if you want to join in the questions are:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
4) What advice do you have for others?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) How has your routine been this week?
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?
8) Anything else?

So let us get on with my answers for this week:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I don’t know, I’ve gone into my numb stage where I don’t really feel much. Sometimes it’s a blessing when I’ve been overwhelmed for a while, but honestly, it can be a little scarier at times that actually feeling something.
I’ve taken to going for a drive once a week and it is helping, we pick up a bit of food from the chippy (they are doing reserved slot pick up so you don’t come into contact with anyone else) so we have a purpose for going out. However, I may just go and wave at my parents from the car too.
I feel right now I need to make decisions which don’t put myself or others in danger but also help stop me becoming overwhelmed by my mental health struggles.
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
We got a free trial to Brit Box – so have been watching a few things on there.
Also, that spot on the ceiling is still apparently very interesting.. Ah depression my friend.
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
We are self-isolating bar one visit to the chip shop to pick up a fish and chip tea – not sure if it is something we will do every week, but it definitely helped me to get out for 1/2 an hour and see a bit of the world.
4) What advice do you have for others?
Keep talking, the hardest thing is bottling it all up.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

My Mum has always hated my love for all things skulls – but it never put me off. So of course when I saw this Skull Reed Diffuser from The Noor Company on Facebook I just had to have it!
I was late to the post and the only scent left was Citrus and Basil, but I’m always up for trying a new scent and I have to admit I LOVE it! I shall definitely be treating myself to some other bits at some point.

These actually should have been in last weeks post and I forgot! Trudy’s Boutique is a shop I came across at last years NEC Festive Gift Fair and I have followed them on social media ever since.
A few weeks ago they shared these awesome mermaid design headbands and I had to grab myself one both in a conventional headband style and a wire hair tie.
Trudy’s Boutique has also teamed up with Shop For Something Different and have some masks on sale – I’ve ordered myself one, alongside a Himalayan salt filter, as I have a feeling wearing a mouth covering will become a requirement at some point.

Last up are some awesome items from DM-C Designs (affiliate link). These came from a market night sale they did a few weeks ago on Facebook.
I absolutely love the colour of the cat necklace and who doesn’t love a bat, just need to decide where to put him now!
6) How has your routine been this week?
While I know routine helps and it’s a good thing to have, I totally admit I’ve not got one, well bar the time I go to bed. That’s always pretty similar.
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over this week?
Absolutely nothing. Going outside sounds quite nice though!
8) Anything else.
Have a socially distanced hug if you would like one.

I go back and forth between being ok and not being ok. This week I’m feeling ok I’m working on some projects to keep me busy and I’m loving Downton Abbey at the moment! I’m on season 5.
It’s hard isn’t it – I’m so up and down don’t know what the next day will bring.
I can’t wait for lockdown to be over!
It sounds like you’re managing pretty well, but I hope things improve soon! My husband and at least two of my kids love skulls too, I might have to get one of those diffusers. That bat is super cute.
They are fun – something a bit fun as well to keep it in – I love unique looking objects.
I am the same numb, to be honest. I am jealous of your chippy and I am not even that into them but right now I could defo go one. I love your skull defuser. thanks for hosting this is keeping me writing each week.
It’s nice that they are open again even just to see someone other than Ash haha!
My sister loves skulls too and my mom would always roll her eyes at them lol. Hang in there!
Haha glad I’m not the only one who got that treatment from their mum.
It’s hard these days especially dealing with the loneliness, anxiety and the stress of not knowing what the future may hold. Love these posts.
Definitely it’s just the unknown that I struggle with most I think.
I love that reed diffuser, it looks awesome. I have one in my downstairs loo but its boring compared to the skull one
I have a few different bottles now for them, one for each room lol.
I too love all things skull! I find the media are making the mental health of a lot of people suffer, we’re only really hearing the bad, and not the good. It would be great to hear how many people have beat COVID-19 rather than how many have died to put into perspective.
Yes I agree, I’ve tried to step away from the media but it’s so hard as its everywhere these days isn’t it?
I adore that skull reed diffuser – that would look perfect on my living room windowsill. How are you finding Britbox? I’ve been considering signing up.
It’s good so far though we haven’t gone much further than Midsomer Murders – we got it free for 6 months from EE if you happen to be with them just check you don’t have the same offer.
That skull diffuser is hands down the coolest thing I have seen in AGES! I need one.
Haha definitely get one it smells amazing as well!
Love that you share your online finds. Thank you. That skull diffuser is so cool.
Going for a drive sounds like a good idea. I am a little inactive in Winter then gradually energise in the Spring and get cracking on big tasks around the house such as decorating. This Spring, however, I can’t get going at all. Hopefully a safe lockdown lift will come soon.
I have to admit I’m awful at online shopping always find something or other to buy whoops!
I really enjoyed this post, it’s really nice to see how everything is going for everyone else.
It is interesting how differently people are coping and great to find new ideas to help.
I’ve been trying to stick to a routine as much as possible to keep myself sane, and it definitely works!
I really need to try and get into a better one.
I agree with you that mask wearing will probably be compulsory as lockdown eases. I’m thinking about making some as I’ve seen lots of sewing patterns online.
There’s some great patterns around – if I was able I probably would have given it a go myself too.
Definitely it so sad knowing each and every person was loved by their family and taken too soon.
Over the last few weeks, I have struggled with going outside beyond my garden or weekly food shop, but the drive there has been a welcome distraction.
It is weird I think we are going to struggle when things go back to normal in feeling safe doing so almost.
We have been keeping busy here with school work and house cleaning.
It sounds like you have a lot going on.
Honestly, lockdown life ain’t that bad over here. I am still doing my thing… I just take more naps, LOL!
Aww glad you are finding it works OK for you and yay for naps!
I saw Brit Box advertised somewhere else too! I’ll have to look into it because I feel like it’s right up my alley.
Honestly, I wouldn’t have thought of getting it but couldn’t say no to the 6 months free seeing as it was offered and glad we did!
Yes, we’ve been going out and picking up food as well. It gives us something to look forward to. I’ll check out the small businesses you mentioned.
Definitely it offers something different to do with your day.
That reed diffuser is a bit funky! You’ve just reminded me I need so get some more!
I would love a chippy! We had a takeaway for the first time since lockdown last week and it was glorious – for once not having to cook, I definitely needed that night off! x
I have to admit I love a good reed diffuser! We normally don’t get anything delivered here but all of a sudden loads of places have added us to their delivery range haha.
It is getting hard to think of life outside lockdown, I am glad you managed to get out and get a chippy. We are getting ours delivered when we have a takeaway and they leave it at the door.
I think it is all going to be really strange when things go back to normal. We weren’t going to risk it but then I just ended up needing to get out and they have set it up so well we’ve never come close to another person.
Sounds like a tough week for you Sarah. I hope this week is better.
I know a lot of my colleagues and friends struggled last week, I think the break in the nice weather didn’t help.
Take care and I hope this week is good to you x
Yeah I think it’s the time when we want to get out isn’t it? Getting to the point where it’s just too much. Will be interesting to see what they suggest this coming week.
I know you will be thrilled to go outside this week when your lockdown eases up. I’ve been coping by doing lots of gardening.
I am really hoping it eases up a bit! So many places are saying it’s going to but I won’t believe it until it’s from the government lol.
Things will start looking up and it’s a wonderful thing that you can share with your fellow bloggers to your experiences and feelings. Fish n chips is a good way to get out! Mmmm. Your doing good, just take each day as it comes x
Thank you <3. Honestly, who doesn't want a chippy once in a while lol.
