Life in a Lockdown #11
Happy Tuesday it has rolled around again!
I hope you are all doing well, anyone go out and queue at Primark when they reopened? It was interesting to see all pictures!
It’s been a long old week it feels like, but before we get into everything here’s the thankyous!
I have to kick it off by saying thank you to the lovely Bex at Futures for coming on this journey of lockdown remembrance each week and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part I promise it is simple:
We do ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, with how you find the link-up! You will be able to copy all the questions from below to answer in your own world.
Then all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and pop your link in the inlinkz so we can come and read your post.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
4) What advice do you have for others?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) How has your routine been this week?
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?
8) Anything else?

So what did week 10 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
Not too well this week – but it’s probably more me related than lockdown related.
I have a lump under my armpit that keeps coming and going and I feel absolutely awful when it is around. Spoken to the doctors and they have sent some meds out for me, but as it keeps popping up I may need a check-up. Yay!
I’m also worried about how quickly we are reopening everything. I hope that we don’t spike again, but going on how it’s gone in other countries I do worry we will.
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
Sleeping, eating, sleeping some more, animal crossing, look at my blog, sleep.
I think that about covers it lol.
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
We are still staying as we were on the whole, we’ve stopped going to the chip shop as they stopped how they were doing it and allowed people in to pick up.
I think both of us are nervous about the what-ifs.
My parents did pop to ours at the weekend and did some work in our garden to help pull up some weeds so it’s looking a lot better. All done with social distancing in place of course and we have a side gate so they didn’t even need to come in!
4) What advice do you have for others?
Just because we are being told that this or that is now open if you don’t feel safe opening that door, don’t do it.
Give yourself a week or two and see how things go.
That’s what we will be doing at least.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
I have but I’ve been feeling too ill to get any photos so I’m going to hold onto them until next week!
Hopefully, you all understand.
6) How has your routine been this week?
All over the place – I don’t think I’ve really had one at all to be honest, some days I’ve been up in the morning, some days it’s not been until late afternoon.
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over this week?
I would love to go to a little local shop. They have reopened now but I’m going to leave it for a while.
I’ve been missing visiting the little handicraft shops.
8) Anything else.
Take care, your important.

Hope the lump under your armpit goes away and doesn’t get worse. Nice that you have a side gate and could have your parents around in the garden., it must have been lovely to see them.
Thank you! It really was – we are lucky in how things are laid out so it does mean we can meet and social distance.
Sorry to hear about the lump in the armpit…probably something and nothing but always best to get it checked…I hope all goes ok.
Love how you have been to the chippy too, I love some chippy chips x
Thank you – it seems like it might pop up every time I get some sort of infection so hey at least it lets me know LOL.
My advice to others would be to get outside every day, even if it’s just for 5 minutes! Really helps boost your mood.
Definitely I know being outside has helped me a lot.
I am the same – i feel like we are reopening everything too fast and i feel quite anxious about life going back to ‘normality’. Hope you week is looking more positive now x
Thank you so much! It’s been a bit of a week this week, but thankfully not virus related lol.
Your answer to question 4 is so true and one everyone should hear. Just because other people are going to the shops as soon as it reopened doesn’t mean that you have to straight away, everyone is different
Definitely, we need to think of ourselves and those around us first.
Hope you get to the bottom of your lump. I cannot believe the amount of people out shopping, but I guess it is a lot of people’s release from stress
It’s crazy, isn’t it? The pictures of the queues blew my mind.
Sending positive vibes your way and you are able to get answers.
Thank you so much that means a lot.
We are not in lockdown here anymore. I never really stopped doing much when we were locked down. I still went out and got my groceries like normal. My family has done a lot more together since it though, so that is wonderful. I’m not planning on going anywhere fun this year though. I’ll continue with my regular food shopping, but that’s about it.
It is interesting how different places (and of course people) have coped with it all!
I am still avoiding the bigger shops at the moment and only doing essential or online shopping. Don’t agree with everything being open so soon especially with the second wave in Australia and China but I guess everyone is getting impatient now.
Definitely I think it will be interesting (not sure that’s the right word) to see what happens here.
I want to go round the little shops near me too but I am leaving it for a while. I can’t wait for charity shops to open up as I have so much to give them haha – spent lockdown getting stuff ready for them!
Haha – I think they are slowly starting to open again now from what I’ve seen at least.
Sorry you’re feeling rough Sarah. Personally I think we are in for a second wave. I looked at those photos of the queues for Primark and Selfridges and thought there are bound to be some people who get infected as there was no social distancing. And did you see the pics of Bicester Village?! I’m glad Wales is taking a much more cautious approach, although I won’t lie, it’s getting tougher by the day.
Yes! I saw it trending on Twitter and I was like why’s it trending and then well I had no words! No social distancing at all! I think there were a lot of calls for it to be closed down again wasn’t there?
Hope you feel better soon I used to have a lump under my belly button that came and went . They said it was a piece of gristle nothing harmful but probably just came away through straining . I’m not sure about things going back to.normal yet especially the shops as they are doing sales which will have people piling in. I want to see my grandson more than anything . I need those hugs x
Our bodies do strange things don’t they? I’m not sure if it’s perhaps just me being over-stressed at the world LOL.
I’m worried about how quickly things are opening back up too. I won’t be heading out anytime soon, I’d rather wait and see what effect shops opening etc has on the number of cases.
Definitely we had to go out yesterday and I really didn’t like it. I jumped straight in the shower to feel better.
I hope you feel better soon. I’m glad you were able to see your parents, even it was at a distance. Our area is opening up too, but we’re staying home as much as possible. I am concerned that a lot of people are not taking the guidelines seriously.
Thank you it has been so nice to see them again, even if it feels weird.
I hope you are feeling better soon. I am also a bit nervous about how fast things are opening up. I will not be rushing out to the stores or restaurants just yet.
It’s scary in some ways isn’t it? I shall be staying closer to home for a while.
Things have been loosening and re-opening by us but I’m still too nervous to go anywhere public. I have been seeing out immediate family though, but that’s really all!
It’s hard, isn’t it? I think it will be a long time until I feel comfortable like I did before.
Hopefully life gets better for you, my life is finally getting back to normal and lockdown is finally getting lifted.
That is awesome – I hope all goes well for you.
I hope you find the reason and a cure for that lump. I am coping pretty well with all the quarentining but I hope we get back to the way things used to be soon.
Thank you so much – it is strange isn’t it. I’m not sure I’ll feel comfortable with the world for a while.
My life hasn’t changed that much since lock down started honestly. It helps that I worked from home prior to all of this! So I am used to being here. I also happen to be a huge home-body so I welcome being “forced” to stay home, haha!
Haha that is definitely a plus, I’m the same but I hate doing what I’m told, so being told to stay at home makes me want to go out lol.
I hope you feel better soon. It’s so important to go back outside when you feel comfortable.
Thank you, definitely, we need to do things at our own pace.
This is the first time i think in the history of the planet the COVID has impacted every human being on the planet. For extroverts like me this is a challenge and I think writing and being grateful for everything has helped me. Thanks for talking about these things and how it impacts our mental health.
It is hard isn’t it? It is scary what the full impact will be and I don’t think we will know that for a few years.
I hope you feel better! Yes, there’s a spike here, which is a little concerning. I hate not knowing what will be happening.
Oh no that’s not good – I hope it comes under control soon for you.
aww hope you’re getting better- its crazy how were having a few stores open where we live but I’m too nervous to go out with the entire family still.
Thank you! So much is opening here now, they even have a date for pubs!
A bit of an unsettled week for you this week. I’m the same, still worried about how quick places are opening up. I certainly won’t be going out shopping soon. The ques are ridiculous. I’m glad you got to see your parents, bitter sweet though when you can’t hug them. I hope you feel better soon and have a better week x
Definitely I just want to give them a hug! The queues are crazy! I mean I wouldn’t be able to stand in one but even so I can’t imagine queuing for Primark!
I hope you are feeling better soon, I used to get a lump appear in my armpit can not remember what it was now but hope yours gets sorted soon. I am worried at how quickly we are opening up and more so by the queues of people wanting to get into shops that was on the news x
Thank you so much! It is madness isn’t it 🙁 hopefully, people start to be a bit more sensible.
