Life in a Lockdown #12
It’s Tuesday again woo!
I took most of last week off as I felt really poorly, I’m hoping I’m on the mend now but still going to go for an easy week, to be honest, as no point in making myself feel unwell again.
I hope you are all doing OK – it seems weird to still be doing these posts, but I think until we know how everything is going to go long term it is interesting to keep a record of our thoughts and feelings around this time in our lives.
After all, *touch wood* we will never go through anything like it again.
As always, I have to kick it off by saying thank you to the lovely Bex at Futures for coming on this journey of lockdown remembrance each week and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part I promise it is simple:
We do ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, with how you find the link-up! You will be able to copy all the questions from below to answer in your own world.
Then all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and pop your link in the inlinkz so we can come and read your post.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
4) What advice do you have for others?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) How has your routine been this week?
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?
8) Anything else?

So what did week 12 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
As I said before I felt pretty poorly last week. I was quite dizzy and had a weird feeling in my chest (which wasn’t anxiety for once).
Luckily I think my antibiotics have started to kick in and everything is feeling a bit easier.
I’m guessing I just had one yucky infection that caused my lymph nodes to swell in my armpit and just feel downright gross.
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
Last week we just watch Ink Master which has come onto Amazon Prime Video (affiliate link) and the new series of The Order on Netflix.
Other than that I’ve just been curled up feeling sorry for myself (yes I admit it).

3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
We actually went out more than normal last week.
I was lucky enough to deal with the doctors over the phone. However, Ash needed the dentist so we had to go to the dentist and chemist for him.
We had masks ready of course!
My parents came around on Saturday and we had socially distanced afternoon tea, dropped off by the local cafe in the garden.
Which was lovely!
4) What advice do you have for others?
Take each day as it comes, listen to what you think is right, rather than what others (or the government) are telling you.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
I’m going to skip this one again – yes I know 2 weeks in a row.
I didn’t have anything arrive last week, but also I haven’t felt well enough to take photos, so catch up soon?!
6) How has your routine been this week?
A lot of sleeping, I’ve felt very tired, I’ve tried on the days I’ve felt better to get a few things done.
We’ve had a few people come around about different issues in the bungalow, including sorting out the layout for the new bathroom! So that always throws things off a bit.
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over this week?
No, we did talk about a holiday we have booked, but we have decided to wait and see on it.

8) Anything else.
You’ve got this!

It is very sad that people are losing their lives and people aren’t find them for a while. It is just so scary to think people are alone in that way.
It is much nicer now it has cooled down a bit isn’t it – we’ve had rain today here and I would much rather it than the stifled weather of last week.
s glad that you are feeling better , this is a real tough time right now
Thank you so much, it really is, isn’t it?
We’re still in lockdown here. Businesses are starting to operate but the number of positive is still rising. I go out once a week to buy essentials.
Oh no that’s not good 🙁 it is scary how that is happening in so many places.
Having a wonderful time at home with my husband and kids. I’m glad that you are feeling better now than before.
Aww, I am so glad you have been able to enjoy this time at home.
Glad you’re feeling better now I need a check up for my eyes but I can’t still get an appointment
Oh no I hope you can get an appointment at some time soon!
Restaurants and bars have opened back up in LA with outdoor seating, but since the cases are sky-high right now I don’t feel safe going out!
Oh wow it’s scary that places are reopening when cases are so high.
Taking care of your health and getting the rest you need is important. So glad you are feeling better. Take good care of yourself as this pandemic journey is not over.
Thank you so much that means a lot – I think we have a long time to go with the pandemic.
Take care, things are had. I am glad you are doing a bit better xx
Thank you – it is definitely nice to be feeling a bit better.
Finally, lockdown finished. Now I have adjusted my life to the new reality. I have my daily routine program. However, I spend my weekends doing activities. Specifically, my favorite weekend activities are swimming and hiking.
It’s going to be weird isn’t it – readjusting to the new normal we are given.
Glad you feeling better yes lockdown and current sitiutation makes everything so difficult.
It is hard isn’t it – hopefully, things will go back to normal one day.
No big changes here, I’m still only going out once a week if necessary for groceries for myself and my parents. School just finished here so we don’t have daily video chats, which my son is missing terribly already.
I bet it is strange not having those after so long! Bless him.
How did you find the telephone consultation with the GP? I work at a GP surgery and we get nothing but complaints, but I know I’d be quite happy myself not to have to wait in a waiting room for ages, only to get rushed in and rushed out again.
I found it OK, to be honest, I was glad not to go in. I’ve struggled with those from consultants as they’ve all been telling me something long term and I’ve struggled to take it in, but with the GP it was fine.
So glad you are feeling much better with the dose of antibiotics. Also seeing your parents must have made you recover quicker too. Hope you get the well deserved holiday soon enough.
It was so lovely to see them though I still want to just give them a big hug!
I’m glad you are feeling better! Things seem to be (very slowly) getting back to normal here.
Thank you – it is weird isn’t it, I can’t work out sometimes why 1 thing can open but another cannot.
Oh no I am so sorry about your short break! That is awful that you won’t get the break or any money back.
we are fed up now and we have hit a brick wall with home schooling. The youngest just isn’t interested anymore
Oh no I am so sorry – do you have any ideas on when they can back to school?
Glad to hear you’re feeling better now. I think with the weather for us, some have been getting sick. It’s been a bit chilly here, but luckily it’s suppose to get nicer again. My family and I have been trying to get outdoors as much as possible.
Do you want to send some chilly weather this way – I’m finding it way too hot! I don’t do heat well mind you lol.
I am glad to hear you are feeling better. We have been lucky and stayed pretty healthy, no big issues this past season. We have stayed busy watching movies and eating, hehe.
That is so good – I am glad you have managed to stay healthy through this all.
I am glad your antibiotics are starting to work, I know how ill you were feeling. Can’t believe we are on week 12 of this linky already!
Fingers crossed it gets rid of it completely I’ve had enough haha!
I’m glad to know that you’re well now. Just hold on, this is the part of our lives that we just entrust everything up there
It is strange isn’t it – I will find it interesting to look back on for sure.
It’s such a hard and crazy time! I agree though, just take every day as it comes!
I think it is all we can do right now isn’t it? Just live for the day and hope.
Hope you are feeling better now. It has been a busy week for us with 3 birthdays and fathers day plus work. Other than that, not much cha
Thank you – definitely on the right track to be on the mend I think! Oh wow what a week for you I hope everyone had a good day!
Last week was so stressful. My grandson had to be admitted to the hospital because of a dang insect bite that gave him preseptal cellulitis. You know how much anxiety it brings when someone in your family has to be in the hospital. Although you get assured of their disinfecting procedures and all, you can’t help but worry. Thankfully, he is home and well. Praise God for protecting my beloved grandson.
Oh my gosh, that is so scary! I am so glad he is home and OK now!
Glad you are feeling better it’s hard but we have to try and cope x
Thank you – it is weird having to do everything more alone for sure.
These posts are nice. I still feel myself like in lockdown. 🙂
Yeah I do wonder about going out to the shops or something but honestly, I don’t feel ready to yet.
Glad your feeling better I feel off it but it’s physical symptoms of GAD . The whole thing is getting me down I just want to hug my grandson it’s been too long
Oh no – I hope you get to hug your grandson soon, it’s so hard to keep up with what we are and aren’t meant to be doing now.
The Ink Master sounds interesting. I will have to have a look at that. For me lockdown as been the same as all the other weeks
It’s interesting – the drama is probably what keeps me interested haha!
It’s great to hear that your feeling OK now, thanks for sharing your experience during this lockdown. We gain some ideas on how to cope up with this and be brighter always.
I think I’ll find it interesting to look back on in years to come, like I managed that!
Take good care of yourself in these tough times.
Thank you so much and you as well.
I am glad you’re feeling better. Sometimes having some time to rejuvenate is just what we need.
Thank you, it definitely helped to just take some time off I think.
This lockdown has been a lot for many. Glad to hear that you are feeling better now.
Thank you, it has been really quite overwhelming I think for many people.
It’s good to know that you are feeling better. This is a tough time and I think we are all handling the situation differently. I have managed to make my self a routine that I stick to to stop my self procrastinating and lounging around doing nothing. The hardest is not being able to see my family in person.
Thank you, it has been hard, hasn’t it? I think people have done amazingly living in a world which suddenly changed so much for so many.
Sorry to hear you have not been feeling very well but I am glad you’re on the mend now.
You’ve also reminded me that my mask broke when shopping and I have forgotten to replace!! I live in one of the top 10 worst places for Covid apparently so I won’t go in to a shop without it!
It is getting far too warm to wear a scarf!
Afternoon tea delivered sounds like heaven!!
I hope next week is a good one for you x
Oh no! Good luck on replacing the mask!
Honestly, it was delicious – it was so nice to have my parents around as well.
I am so glad you are feeling better, I need to get to the dentist but can not get an appointment so still stuck with half a front tooth which I am hating
Oh no – to be honest, we got lucky as he was in so much pain they slotted him in, but he’s got ages to wait for the actual treatment.
Glad you’re feeling better. I’ve been trying to take each day as it comes too, but some days are easier than others.
Thank you – it’s definitely a strange world at the moment, isn’t it?
I feel like things are slowly getting back to normal. We still are wearing masks in public but otherwise we are doing all our usual activities.
It is interesting isn’t it – a lot of things are opening back up here over the coming weeks.
It so important to have an easy week or an easy day when you are feeling poorly! At the end of the day your health is of upmost importance so just remember that!
Definitely I think sometimes we need to learn to step back more often.
I am so glad you are doing better! We have a vacation planned next month to see family. I hope it works out.
Ekk! I hope you manage to get away with the family!
I’m glad your feeling a little better after having your antibiotics. Hopefully, you will feel much more better as time boes by. It’s OK to feel sorry for yourself, I do that, especially with a bar of chocolate! I’m glad you got to see your parents again too. Your doing great, keep it up.
Thank you! Ohh there is nothing like a bar of chocolate when you feel sorry for yourself!
Glad you are feeling better!
Thank you so much 🙂
