Aqua Citra Perfume: Review
Let’s for a moment travel back to the sixties or seventies. One of the best loved women fragrances is Aqua Citra. The perfume brings about that feeling of freedom, fun and carefree moments. The years go by and, as with many things, the Aqua Citra fragrance is discontinued.
As with many items though, someone remembers it, someone loves it and as such someone brings it back for us to enjoy again. The “new” Aqua Citra perfume has been completely recreated by a team at the original suppliers. It has even been given the thumbs up by the original creator of Aqua Citra, Christopher Collins. So you can be safe in the knowledge this is a top of the range recreation and not a cheap imitation.
What does Aqua Citra smell like?
As you might expect for a fragrance with this name, the top notes are a wonderful mix of lemon and lime which are complemented by a spicy base and green floral heart. Surprisingly, once the sweet citrus start has died away you are left with a musky, woody fragrance.
I have to admit that while I expected this to be a citrus fragrance, I wasn’t sure if would be overpoweringly lemon in scent. I also wasn’t sure whether the fact that it was a recreation of an old scent would be obvious. It might remind you of something your grandma might have worn. So it was with trepidation that I gave that first spray. What I didn’t expect, however, was how much I would love it.
The initial burst of fragrance reminds me of something, something I can’t quite put my finger on. It’s perhaps a mix between lemon bonbons and an uplifting body scrub that was lemon scented I once used.
Once that initial citrus blast of scent dies down, it is a really unique woody fragrance with a side of lemon and lime scent that is left behind. This grows a more musky edge as time goes on. To me it is a lovely fresh, uplifting fragrance, which makes me think of happy summer times.
If you are a fan of all things lemon and lime, then I would definitely suggest checking this out. If you’re not, well, why not see if you can try a sample? After all, like me, you might be surprised.

I hadn’t heard of this before, but it sounds like a fragrance that I would wear (and I’m super picky). I love the box and bottle, too. I’ll have to see if it is for sale in the States.
This seems like a interesting scent. I would have to smell it myself to see if it was something I would personally like. I am more into musk type scents instead of citrus.
