My Rug Store Jelly Beans Rug: Review
One great thing about this move is we have been able to make the bungalow our home, while we lived in the last place for over three years and we both had so many plans for it, really hoping it could be a long term home for us. The truth is we were never really happy there and that came across in the fact we never truly made it our own.
This move however has felt completely different, the first night I slept like a log and Sally has settled in like she has been here forever, showing none of the anxiety signs she did after the last move. Perhaps most telling of all is it feels welcoming when you walk in, the place is bright and full of joy, compared to the darkness of the last place and I can’t wait to see what the future here brings.
As we were moving in the lovely people at My Rug Store got in touch and asked if I would love to review something from their huge range of rugs on the blog and with such perfect timing – I couldn’t say no.
After browsing the website for a long time and coming across some beautiful rugs, I feel in love with the Jelly Beans design, it was in fact the multi-coloured design that first caught my eye and as much as I loved it, I knew it wouldn’t fit in our home. So on noticing the beige/brown combination I knew I have found a mix of both a design I loved and colours that matched.
The Jelly Beans range of rugs is all made from chunky felted wool, which makes for such a soft, deep and thick rug. We haven’t used an underlay with this rug, as we do have non-slip flooring, however due to how it is made if your floor is slippery at all, I would definitely suggest making sure you add one underneath just to be safe.
The Jelly Beans rugs are large with this being the smaller size and coming in at 120 x 170 cm, we have quite a small living area as you may be able to tell from the picture and it does take up a large portion of the floor. However, I think it really does work for us, Sally likes to use it as an extra bed and in the day is often found lying on it, while it also makes for an area that can be more comfortable to sit on than the floor, should we run out of proper seats.
Personally I am really impressed by this rug, at the time of writing I believe we have had it down for around 4 weeks, it has been walked on, jumped on, rolled up, danced on and had a dog roll about on it and it still looks as good as the day we put it down.
One issue I have with many rugs I have previously had is where they have been rolled in storage and transit they never really lay flat, this however hasn’t been a problem with this rug, it has laid flat from day one and we have had no issues with corners lifting.
As such I would totally recommend this rug to others, as not only does it look good, but it really seems to have been well made.

It’s a lovely rug and it looks so soft, good enough for the kids and the fur babies to play on it! I like that it doesn’t have an issue with anything! It’s awesome to have one of these at home.

I love this rug – I am desperate for a proper rug but at the moment we are using a folded throw because with a puppy, a baby soon to potty train and a couple of hellishly messy boys, I thought it would be easier!

Great choice, I’m digging the color combination. It would totally match my home decor. We love to sit on the floor so a quality rug is essential.

I do appreciate a good rug and we are currently looking for one to go in our hallway and bedroom. Love the jelly bean rug you’ve chosen, it is clearly durable and an excellent choice when it’s going to be in a most used room and especially with a dog. We bought one from IKEA that’s served us so well, it withstands a giant husky, a 3 year old and me laying on it whilst I blog and watch tv!

Oh this is great! I feel like rugs are one of the hardest thing to choose for you house, they have to be the right size, colour, pattern and price! Its really hard to find the perfect one!

I am loving the color of the rug! I am big fan of neutrals so that would look good in my craft room. I have never heard of Jelly Bean rugs, but I am going to have to check them out because the price point seems reasonable.
They are wonderful I love the fact it’s felted wool, not had a rug made of it before but it works so well! x

I really like this rug and like the way you have described it looks after being rolled around on by the dog. My cats and the baby take a toll on my furniture and rugs!

Great rug looking for something for our small living room too. It would be forgiving of kids dropping bits and dog fur till I grab the hoover and looks as though it is made of high quality materials to withstand my crazy house occupants.
It is very forgiving with dog fur – I’m yet to spot any on there, but with her using it they have to be there I am sure! x

Sally is adorable! Moving is such a pain, isn’t it. We’ve been in our home for 16 years. I’d hate to think of all the things we’d find tucked away. Love your new rug. We need one, headed over to the site to check them out.
