Willow and Finn Candle Review

I have long loved home fragrance, I want my home to smell good and feel inviting when you step in the door.

There are, of course, many different ways to fragrance your home. Personally, I find lighting a candle to be one of my favourite ways to do just this on an evening. This allows not only a beautiful fragrance to radiate around the place, but adds to the atmosphere.

Recently I was introduced to Willow and Finn and I am pleased today to share them with you.

Who are Willow and Finn?

Willow and Finn produce small-batch, hand-poured wax candles, which they sell alongside a beautifully created collection of home and wellness products.

They pride themselves on being eco-friendly, with their wax having been ethically sourced and carbon neutral. When it comes to the packaging they make sure everything they use is completely recyclable as well.

Who is behind the brand?

Three years ago Willow Microbakery was born, named after the billowing willows that sat at the end of the creator’s garden. However, after a difficult couple of years, the need to regroup and change was felt.

At the time the founder was enjoying making candle blends for herself. Holding knowledge of essential oils already due to the fact that she was a trained massage therapist.

It was from here the focus began to change and more candles were made. In time a rebrand to Willow and Finn happened, with Finn being a nod to the name of her son, who helps both in the bakery, creating scents and at market stalls.

These days you can shop Willow and Finn via their online store and in person at their shop in Shepperton, Surrey.

Sunshine on a Rainy Day

Is there anything more British than a bit of sunshine on a rainy day?

This is one of the latest additions to the candle collection for summer. It includes notes of; petrichor, oak moss and lily. It offers up the idea of the scent you get just after a rainfall, of the wet woodland around you, while the ground starts to warm with the sun’s rays.

This particular candle has a burn time of 55-60 hours and features a wooden wick.

I found that it offered a light fragrance which filled the room. It was a scent that was easily picked up as you entered the room and would occasionally waft your way after you had been sitting for a while. The addition of the wooden wick allows for a relaxing atmosphere with a slight crackle as it burns.

Potager

Another of the summer candle offerings is Potager, this candle includes notes of; tomato leaf, melon and honeysuckle. It is meant to bring about reminders of a kitchen garden, full of green and fresh scents.

I’m going to be honest, this really reminds me of tomato plants, meaning to me the tomato leaf stands out most and I like it. If someone was to suggest a tomato plant-smelling candle to me I would be like that isn’t for me. However, it is so nice and well worth trying.

Once again the candle has a 55 – 60 hour burn time and comes with a wooden wick. The scent yet again isn’t too overpowering and just gently fills the room. It really brings about summer vibes once the sun has gone down.

Overall Thoughts on Willow and Finn

I was really impressed with Willow and Finn, they have definitely thought through everything they do from the recyclable packing to the fact they even refill candles.

The scents offered are something really unique and I was thrilled to try out these two. Potager especially isn’t a scent I would think to try, but it is such a summery garden scent.

If you are worried about not liking the scent and don’t want to part with £29 straight out, I would suggest trying the wax melt range first. In fact, they have a sample range just for this purpose, which is such a good idea.
