  1. My bedroom is pretty much underground so it’s hard to get it looking bright and breezy. At least it is relatively cool in the summer though!

    1. Right now if it’s cool in summer I’m all for it – our place seems to be so very hot right now.

  2. Choosing light colours and patterns is definitely a must for a bright look. Also decluttering is something I really need to do to my wardrobe, the amount of stuff in it is horrendous haha.

  3. It really is true about sleeping in a room that is untidy and cluttered, I sleep so much better when there’s no washing piles and toys that the kids have brought into my room all over the floor

    1. It is strange how it gets to us, isn’t it? I just wish I was better at tidying up haha!

  4. How beautiful are those bedrooms!?
Our bedroom really needs redoing and it definitely needs a declutter! Its currently a bedroom/office/childrens wardrobe!
I’d love to keep the windows open at night when its hot but unfortunately we’d be woken up way too early by seagulls!!

    1. I know I wish I had a bedroom like that! Ours is so tiny it always feels a bit cluttered with just the furniture to be honest.

    1. Black out blinds or curtains are such a great idea, we have them in the bedroom as well.

  5. I have to have a calm bedroom to be able to sleep, no clutter at all, just a clock and bedside table lamp, everything else store in draws or cupboards, I have very pale lilac and white gloss units and blackout curtains are a must!

    1. Oh it sounds like you have a lovely bedroom to relax in – I agree about blackout curtains they really make a difference don’t they?

    1. Definitely, the best place to start, I always feel a bit better after a declutter as well.

  6. Great ideas here. I like the thought of bright colours and this can easily be done by adding cushions and changing the colours of duvet and pillows

    1. Definitely, it is so simple to add colour using accessories and they can quickly be changed with the seasons too!

    1. That is a great idea – we are West facing and it gets so warm in the evening which is a shame.

  7. De cluttering always makes me feel better. We have 3 white walls and one dusky lilac. Not summery but it’s not being changed. I love it.

    1. It is amazing what a declutter does isn’t it! Ohh your bedroom sounds lovely – as long as you love it, it doesn’t matter it is your room after all!

  8. It is amazing how welcoming a organised clean bedroom feels. It makes you look forward to sleeping and can help you sleep better too. Our bedroom definitely needs a redo. At the moment it’s a but plain with no photos or patterns. But because we’re planning to give the master bedroom to the kiddies, we don’t want to do too much to it so we can start on a blank canvas. Saying that I do like the minimalistic look.

In regards to leaving the window open, we do that but the downside is that all the pollen get in and we are all hayfever sufferers in this household. But we are lucky that we have floor to ceiling windows to let in plenty of light in every room

    1. Definitely, I want my bedroom to be relaxing and with too much clutter or to much brightness it is just too overwhelming I have to admit.

Oh no that’s a shame about the pollen but I totally understand we have a dyson fan which helps filter out all the bits in the air which makes a difference I think – I have it set up to start a little before I go to bed and finish a bit after I fall asleep.
