Life in a Lockdown #5
And so Tuesday has rolled its way around again, can you believe it?
Of course at the moment Tuesday is the day I team up with Futures and talk about how Life in a Lockdown has treated us for the past 7 days. Once again a huge thank you to Jenni from Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for the original idea.
Don’t forget if you want to join in the questions are:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
4) What advice do you have for others?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) How has your routine been this week?
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?
8) Anything else?

So let us get on with my answers for this week:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
I don’t know, I’ve gone into my numb stage where I don’t really feel much. Sometimes it’s a blessing when I’ve been overwhelmed for a while, but honestly, it can be a little scarier at times that actually feeling something.
I’ve taken to going for a drive once a week and it is helping, we pick up a bit of food from the chippy (they are doing reserved slot pick up so you don’t come into contact with anyone else) so we have a purpose for going out. However, I may just go and wave at my parents from the car too.
I feel right now I need to make decisions which don’t put myself or others in danger but also help stop me becoming overwhelmed by my mental health struggles.
2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?
We got a free trial to Brit Box – so have been watching a few things on there.
Also, that spot on the ceiling is still apparently very interesting.. Ah depression my friend.
3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?
We are self-isolating bar one visit to the chip shop to pick up a fish and chip tea – not sure if it is something we will do every week, but it definitely helped me to get out for 1/2 an hour and see a bit of the world.
4) What advice do you have for others?
Keep talking, the hardest thing is bottling it all up.
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

My Mum has always hated my love for all things skulls – but it never put me off. So of course when I saw this Skull Reed Diffuser from The Noor Company on Facebook I just had to have it!
I was late to the post and the only scent left was Citrus and Basil, but I’m always up for trying a new scent and I have to admit I LOVE it! I shall definitely be treating myself to some other bits at some point.

These actually should have been in last weeks post and I forgot! Trudy’s Boutique is a shop I came across at last years NEC Festive Gift Fair and I have followed them on social media ever since.
A few weeks ago they shared these awesome mermaid design headbands and I had to grab myself one both in a conventional headband style and a wire hair tie.
Trudy’s Boutique has also teamed up with Shop For Something Different and have some masks on sale – I’ve ordered myself one, alongside a Himalayan salt filter, as I have a feeling wearing a mouth covering will become a requirement at some point.

Last up are some awesome items from DM-C Designs (affiliate link). These came from a market night sale they did a few weeks ago on Facebook.
I absolutely love the colour of the cat necklace and who doesn’t love a bat, just need to decide where to put him now!
6) How has your routine been this week?
While I know routine helps and it’s a good thing to have, I totally admit I’ve not got one, well bar the time I go to bed. That’s always pretty similar.
7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over this week?
Absolutely nothing. Going outside sounds quite nice though!
8) Anything else.
Have a socially distanced hug if you would like one.

It is nice isn’t it getting back into a bit of a routine and just seeing someone as well.
I haven’t really had time to think about lockdown so much this week as I started a new job as catering assistant in a care home. I did four days of training online and yesterday was my first day in the kitchen and it was an 11 hour shift, today I am recovering.
Stay safe everyone.
Oh gosh bless you what an important job to be doing. Thank you for caring.
This thing really is hammering people’s mental health, isn’t it? It feels like we either face the threat of the virus or hide away and neither are great options. I had a tougher week last week too, and I think a lot of people reached a kind of end point. I hope this week was better for you? Love the headband!
Definitely – I know if I could I would just run away – but how can you run away from something you can’t see?
It is definitely difficult particular for mental health too – hopefully an end will be in sight soon!
I hope so as well, I’m struggling with my mental health but I also know we need to keep people safe.
Im going slightly insane to be truthful with you. It’s getting to us all a bit now I think but we have to keep going strong and keep at it. There will be light at the end of the tunnel one day.
Bless you, definitely, we have to keep on trying to look for it don’t we?
Definitely it’s really nice to get to wave at people when you see them from time to time.
Thank you for your honesty.
What am I doing at this time?
Reading and journaling to keep me sane.
It is hard isn’t it – it’s good to have little things to keep us going.
I’m so fed up of lockdown now practically at the end of my tether with it . I miss my grandson so much he’s been a big part of our lives since he was born so I’ve been really down. Suffering with anxiety to start with doesn’t help. Just hope it ends soon. I love the feed diffuser and the little bat is gorgeous
It’s so hard isn’t it – we really aren’t cut out of this now, I can’t imagine how they managed it years ago!
Brit Box has some great shows on, I’ve been rewatching Sandition on there – I do love a period drama.
I really need to delve into it a bit more we haven’t got further than Midsomer Murders yet.
It sounds so good, I loved your idea in this situation we realized everything in our house is worth it, we make something’s creative about it and a lot of time with family, bunding together doing together and pray together to him.
Aww it sounds like you have some amazing things going on to help you keep together and enjoy the time.
As weather gets warmer, we can venture out for walk, only going out for grocery and essential. I don’t think we will go out near future. may after sometime everything get wind down we will. That skull reed diffuser looks really nice.
It is really fun and it smells amazing I’ve got it at the end of the sofa.
Tring to stay sane. I have that skull too. I have flowers in mine!
Ohh that’s an idea of something I can do with it when it’s out of scent thank you.
So glad that you are finding driving relaxing, this week has been a mix just like yours.. I have had good days and hectic days. The Skull Reed Diffuser from The Noor Company looks quite cool, something i would love to add to my collection too.
It is so fun, they did some candles as well wish I had got one of those hopefully they might get more later.
I am quite enjoying being at home during lock down it has given me the opportunity to catch up on loads of stuff that I missed doing during my hectic work life also I have gained new skills
That is amazing I am so glad you have found it works well for you.
