5 Things to do This Winter to Help you Stay Warm
I recently spoke about some great ways to try and keep your home warm this winter. However, once your home is not letting in so many drafts, what can you do to make the inside and you feel even more warm and cosy?
Well, today I go into a few more things you can do to help you feel warmer this winter, no matter what you are getting up to.
Take Up a New Hobby

So with summer gone your thinking but I can’t partake in my outdoor hobby anymore? Unless you’re die-hard and then I salute you!
So why not check out some new ideas of things you can do indoors, even in your own home? Perhaps I could suggest blogging? Or you could look to take up some sort of crafting, anything from crochet to scrapbooking are perfect for doing inside during the colder months.
Scrapbooking, for instance, has never been as easy as it is today. Technology advancement has made sure that you will not need things like scissors or cleaning up the mess after you have completed your creation. Using a digital scrapbook maker, you can simply select a template that matches your requirements, upload your photos, and then let the app do everything else for you.
What’s more, you will be moving about a little as you are working, so you will hopefully generate a bit of extra body heat.
Personally, I’ve found myself getting quite warm while I’ve been trying to catch up on blog photography for instance.
Hot Drinks and Soup
When the weather starts getting cold. It is time to start thinking about warming ideas and sometimes that happens from the inside out.
For me, it’s all about tea and soup. For others, it could be hot chocolate with marshmallows, a good stew, or any warming comfort good they can think of (mac and cheese anyone?)
Scientifically drinking a hot drink won’t warm you up too much. However, I find something very warm and comforting about stilling down with a cup of tea in my hands. Perhaps as my hands get so cold these days, that warmth around them really does make a difference to me.
Make Sure Your Appliance Are Working Well

Right now is a good time to make sure your boiler is working, to do this it is well worth calling in the professionals to give it a good once over.
They will really be able to make sure your boiler is working to the best of its ability and advice you on if perhaps a new one is needed.
Whatever you do though if you are told your boiler could do with replacing don’t panic. There are plenty of people out there who can help with boiler installation. After all, a new boiler could really help bring down your bills in the long term, as it will be more efficient.
If it is suggested that your radiators need bleeding, remember to do it only when your heating is off. As if you do it with the heating on, the hot water runs the risk of scolding you.
Get Out The Blankets
There is nothing quite like making sure your home is warm and inviting when the weather gets cold. Think about introducing extra blankets and cushions to your living room and bedroom so that you can snuggle down and relax in comfort.
One idea is to keep blankets over the back of the sofa until they are needed. This way they don’t need to take up any extra room and they can also enhance your home’s cosy winter aesthetic.
Blankets help create that toasty and warm feeling in a room, and they’re on hand as soon as you start to feel the chill.
Keep Moving
If you are sitting down, thinking how cold it is, then getting up and about and moving can really help. Take a few minutes to do a few household jobs, such as washing up or cleaning. Or even just walking around for a little bit can get you feeling much warmer.
If you have a pet then take them out for a walk, while it might be colder out than in if you are walking about you are likely to find overall you feel warmer than when you were just sitting about indoors.
Of course, these are just a few ideas to help you feel warmer during the cold months, there are plenty more hints and tips out there to help you not feel the cold.
As such I would love to know what are your favourite ways to stay warm?
