December 14th – Life After a Lockdown #89
Well, what a week. First, we have “plan B” go ahead. Now we are raised to level 4 and they aren’t ruling out tighter restrictions as Christmas comes around.
There is also a push to get all adults boostered up by the end of December. So you can now book your boost from 3 months since your second jab, rather than 6. I know that locally they have set up some drop in’s for people.
From what I’ve heard the NHS website for registering for the jab crashed and lateral flow tests have also run out.
They will also quite soon, only class you as “fully vaccinated” if you have had all 3 jabs.
Personally, my booster wasn’t due until the 23rd so I had decided to put it off until the New Year. Due to a mix of how I struggle with Christmas and how unwell the jabs have made me. I think I will still be sticking to this plan.
On With The Linky!
Starting off I must say a huge thank you to Bex from Futures for joining me each week as my co-host and of course Jenni at Lyrical Host (affiliate link) for kickstarting the idea!
If you would like to take part, it’s simple:
We ask that you give both Bex and I a link back in your post, as hosts of the linkup and you can copy the questions below.
After that; all you need to do is pop back to mine or Bex’s post and add your link in the inlinkz.
1. How are you feeling/coping?but
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

So what did week 89 hold:
1) How are you feeling/coping?
Overwhelmed, I always said I thought things would get worse again. However, I hope for the best and now it seems like it might be happening, it feels very overwhelming.
It leaves you wondering when will it end, will this be a cycle we are now stuck in forever?
Or like other pandemics will Covid run its course and one day we will look back at this time, again unable to quite remember what it was like. Or even imagine it happening again?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
It’s been quite a quiet 7 days, I’ve been trying to get the blog up to date before Christmas hits, still not fully there yet.
I did have the lovely Donna come out yesterday and she does my hair, legs and toenails as I struggle with them now, especially with not being able to see in the shower save and my shakes. So that’s all done until the new year.
Other than that I’ve been trying to catch up with last-minute gift buying.
4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?
Just remember that by social distancing and wearing masks you are protecting others, even if you aren’t a fan yourself.
5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
I got my last gift guide up and it has some absolutely incredible ideas in it. So if you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, please do pop over.
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
I’ve been struggling with cold and hands feet, my Mum told me to buy a certain pair of slippers which are a bit like thick socks so I can curl up with them on, sit with my legs crossed and they are really helping.
7) What has made you smile this week?
We’ve been re-watching Supernatural, it’s one of those shows that I can just enjoy and not think about much, which is good and makes me smile.
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

From there to here is a massive change as we are now having to live with Covid and cases are probably at their highest
Lots of good questions – I have had my booster and am hoping life can start to return to near normal!
I felt overwhelmed as well, in a way I’m glad Christmas is over – I was so worried Covid would ruin it again
Yes, I really thought we would end up in some sort of lockdown around or after Christmas I have to say.
The lack of availability of lateral flow tests is freaking me out
It is scary isn’t it – I tried yesterday and couldn’t get any but got some today thankfully.
I’ve not heard about my booster yet unsure if I contact them or tey call me
I think now you can just make the appointment, previously they were contacting a month before you are due.
