4 Unique Decor Ideas
We all want our home to show off some of our personality and there are so many things we can do to make that happen.
There is something for everyone and ideas to make our home decor be something really unique if we just look out there for it.
I thought I would share with you today 4 unique decor ideas you might like to incorporate into your home.
Reclaimed Items.
There is something wonderful about using reclaimed items in the home.
Be it something someone else has made out of reclaimed wood, or an item you have upcycled yourself.
This type of decor can be as cheap or expensive as your pocket allows. From items picked up on freecycle, which you work on yourself. To items found on Etsy or similar websites, that have been handmade by experts.
Play With Glass.
Companies such as The Glass Wearhouse, work with glass in a whole host of interesting ways, both for the home and trade.
They can help you bring all sorts of glass based items into your home, from unique shower doors and splashbacks. To item for your conservatory, fire glass and even mirrors.
The obscure range, in particular, offers some interesting ideas for the bathroom.
Experiment with Lighting.
The way light enters your home can make all the difference in how it feels inside. This works both with natural and artificial lighting.
One of the great things about this, is it really means you can play with how the room feels.
From different fabrics at the windows to lights which throw different colours or shadows when on. There is so much you can do.
Allow Yourself To Do What You Want.
Sometimes in our homes, it is so easy to follow the trends, however, your home is for you. Somewhere for you to feel happy and at ease.
So most of all when it comes to your home, follow your heart, if your home is full of clashing colours that’s fine, full of big and bold statement pieces awesome!
Let your heart decide what your home looks like, it doesn’t need to be straight of an Instagram picture as long as you love it.

upcycling really interests me, it amazes me that you can make something old look so good again
It is amazing what some people can do isn’t it.
For me, I like a space to envoke a feeling without being obvious. For example, my living room area should say “beach” due to the lightness, color scheme and accessories (although NONE of the accessories have the word beach on them.)
That sounds so lovely, like you bring in a feeling with it all!
I do agree, no matter what the trend is if it ain’t your style, you’ll be bothered by it. So do what you want.

These are nice ideas. I had been planning about lighting. It brings out changes to the objects in the room.

These are great ideas. I particularly need to improve upon the natural lighting in my home, especially in my kitchen as I am always photographing the dishes I cook.

Some lovely ideas there. After my expensive glass coffee table spontaneously cracked and needed to be removed from the house, I popped into a charity furniture shop and had a great time looking around. I ended up replacing my table with a smaller one for the sum of £5.00. Very practical!

I really love the upcycling and refinishing concept. It allows me to get creative while incorporating unique decor throughout my home.
Most definitely it is something fun and makes for something completely unique for yourself as well.
I absolutely love places with plants, either artificial or alive and also like putting up lamps in my house. The ambiance they create if perfect for creating a calming atmosphere. Also, I do like hanging stylish mirrors too.
Plants are lovely to have around the home aren’t they – I have more now and I love it!

My office is my favorite place in my home. It’s really cozy, and decorated to my liking.
It is nice when you have somewhere which really feels like yours.
I LOVE using reclaimed items, and they fit in well with my industrial farmhouse look. I love the mix of wood and metal.

What I find unique is how to gain space by playing on the glass, it’s new for me thank you for sharing

I love up cycling. That’s my favorite type of furniture. There’s so many things you can make with a little imagine.

Reclaim or DIY is always my choice. Hanging a mirror always helps make a room look bigger. We put in floating shelves in our kitchen and love them.
That is such a great tip and it is amazing how well it works isn’t it.
I think lighting is really key to any space – my current office is small with only one small window which can be really dreary so having adding a lamp or two is a great idea.
