William Morris Rounded Sunglasses from Leightons: Review
I’ve worn glasses since I was in primary school, I vividly remember having to sit closer to the screen, to see what was going on and my eyes becoming sore as we watched something one day. It was pretty soon after that, I got my first pair of glasses and it took me years to become accustomed to wearing them all the time. However during my mid-teens, I decided to wear daily contacts for a while, however, with everything that went on with my life, I soon switched back to glasses and was happy with that choice.
Over the years my eyesight has got worse; however it still came as a surprise, when a few years ago my optician decided to send me to the eye hospital as he thought something else was going on. It was there I was diagnosed with Keratoconus. This is condition where the normally round cornea thins out into a progressively more cone like shape; this causes issues with the light entering the eye and as such causes distorted vision.
At the moment my vision is able to be corrected by special hard contact lenses, however there is a day when I may have to go through corneal transplants, like Sarah from Things Sarah Loves has (please do read about her journey and more about this eye condition if you have a moment).
You might be wondering why I am writing a long explanation about my eyes, in a sunglasses review, for an optician like Leightons? Well what better time is there to raise awareness for an eye condition?
I have to admit while I solely wore glasses, I didn’t own a huge range of sunglasses, after all, I would have to have every pair fitted with prescription lenses, which could cost as much (if not more) than the frames themselves. So having to wear contacts has opened up a whole new world for me, when it comes to buying them.
It took me a while to decide on what pair to go for, after all Leightons offer a wide range of both sunglasses and glasses frames, but in the end I decided upon this pair from William Morris London.
Coming in this gorgeous brown frame colour, with contrasting gold band around the arm and brown toned lenses, these frames are simple in design, offering a pair of sunglasses that are wearable no matter what you are heading out to do.
One thing I have found since wearing contacts, is the world around me seems a lot brighter, I assume due to the fact my eyes are able to process light better. As such, I have been wearing sunglasses a lot more often than perhaps other people would choose to, so even though it is only January, these have already been worn a number of times, including when I am driving.
Over all I have been really impressed with these William Morris sunglasses from Leightons, they offer great coverage around your eyes, fit comfortably and definitely will be used a lot over this coming year.

My daughters dad actually has the same condition and my daughter has a mild stigmatism in her eyes where they are cone shaped, we have to keep an eye on it to make sure they are keeping it from getting worse. I do love these sunglasses though and its great that the fact you wear contacts you can open yourself up to a whole host of tinted eye wear. I know how expensive it is to get prescription sunglasses xx
Hopefully they manage to stop it getting any worse, I started out having just a mild astigmatism, as well as being short sighted, hopefully they manage to keep your daughters under control and it doesn’t progress.
I have a problem when it comes to sunglasses, I can’t stop buying them! I’m a total junkie, these are a lovely pair. And glad to know that someone made the right decision and got you checked out so you know what’s actually happening with your eyes

I would choose this tyle, I like the frame & really like the lens shade. These would be ideal while I’m driving, the sun can really play havoc with me when I’m driving & I hate squinting.
Those are nice! Here in Florida, we wear sunglasses quite often. I splurge and buy one solid pair every few years. Currently wearing some Coach ones, but I would totally wear these!

I’ve always worn prescription glasses since a child, and have just had to progress to varifocals, but I wish now, when I was younger I had tried contacts but I was a bit scared of them. I’ve had a look on the Leighton’s site and they’ll be well worth looking at when I need new glasses!

These are definitely a style I would opt for! They are really stylish. I’m really bad for ordering prescription sunglasses I always just risk not being able to see on holiday… I just find that most prescription sunglasses are too expensive!
They can be really expensive, I think all glasses can, the last pair I brought was over £100 for the frames and another £250 on top for lenses 🙁

I really like the shape of these sunglasses! They look like they would literally suit any shaped face. I wear contacts all the time and have been looking for some good sunglasses so I can give my eyes a break on the hot sunny days and these are right up my street

I currently wear contact and am considering getting my eyes lasered but in the meantime I really struggle to find glasses and sunglasses that I properly like. These are similar to the style I would usually go for so I think I’ll have a look on their site next time 😀

I loved reading this! I’m like you used to be – I don’t wear many sunglasses because I need to wear my real glasses. I have 3 pairs of prescription sunglasses and those are the only ones I wear. I’ve thought about getting contacts, but I haven’t gone through with it yet. I think I need to!
If you can get dailies or soft contacts you hardly notice you are wearing them to be honest, hard ones are a different kettle of fish though. x
I’ve worn different types of sunglasses but the round ones really complement my face shape! I wouldn’t mind going for a pair of these!
I have worn glasses all my life and for the past – I dunno- 6 years or so I have wanted prescription sun glasses! It is an absolute must before summer this year as I say I will get them every year! These are beautiful and I think mine would be similar. Thanks for reminding me…

For years I never bothered with sunglasses. Then we bought a house in Arizona & with all the sun here, I now have to wear sunglasses a lot more … so learning about my choices is good.

Fun seeing glasses in a different shape than what we’re used to. As I already wear glasses, I use clip-ons & keep extras in each family car.
My Dad swears by clipons I’ve never found any in the shape glasses I wear though strangely. x

These are great, I love the size and shape of them. I keep thinking about trying contact lenses so I can wear sunglasses but have never got round to it.
You can normally book an appointment where they can tell you about them and try some in to see how you feel about it if you have some spare time might be worth trying 🙂 x

I can definitely see a lot better in my contacts (not that, that’s a surprise with my issues) but it is amazing how noticeable the difference is.

My other half has basically perfect vision, I’m always telling him never take it for granted. Before this I even took the fact putting a pair of glasses on would correct it. x
