Why add a Fence Post Support to your Garden Fence?

Summer is here and I’m so happy! That means summer garden parties and countless barbecues with family and friends. However, this also means that the garden needs to look its best… the grass needs to be cut, the shed needs to be decluttered and the garden fence needs a complete transformation. Not sure what happened during the lockdown months but they truly took a toll on my fence. So, it’s time for a replacement!

Whilst looking for new garden fences, I spoke to the experts at Speedy Fixings who recommended a fence post support. Fence post supports, also called post supports, post shoes or post bases, are metal shoes designed to secure timber posts into the ground. These will add extra stability and support to garden fences, ensuring these will stay put for longer.

Benefits of fence post supports.

• Add extra stability.
• Offer added support.
• Protect posts against water damage.
• Increase the lifespan of structures.

“Not only do post shoes offer further strength, support and stability to garden fences but these also offer protection against common damage, such as water, fungal and insect damage.” Comments Wannabe Princess. If you are looking to improve your current fence or want to extend the lifespan of your future fence, post supports are a great addition.

Post supports can also be used to support other structures, including pergolas, gazebos and decking. Home Restaurant comments that post supports would be a great addition to their outdoor kitchen pergola, and I think so too!

Enhance your fence further.

There are many to give your garden fence a quick uplift. From giving fences a new coat of paint to having multi-functional fences. As Captain Bobcat says, garden fences can be multi-functional by creating a vertical herb garden or by using it as vertical storage for your garden utensils.
