Personally, I am always on the lookout for small businesses to turn to when it comes to buying presents. So I was pleased to be introduced to Carys Boyle Ceramics recently as another company that offers a unique range.
Carys Boyle Ceramics
Based in the Welsh countryside, Carys Boyle Ceramics was started by Carys Boyle; an independent designer and maker.
Carys uses a range of techniques to produce her ceramics including Slip Casting. This involves a process of turning clay into a liquid form on plaster, which allows small batches to be produced.
She takes inspiration from the rural setting around her, which is visible within many of her pieces.
Pieces can be sent to you, or directly to a recipient, with a gift message if requested and come packaged in a zero-waste gift box.
I was kindly sent two pieces from her range.
Personalised Keyring with Calming Green Aventurine Crystal
Carys offers a beautiful range of keyrings which can be personalised with a name, date or short message. There is also a range of shapes and stones to choose from.
Personally, I went for a green aventurine to accompany my keyring. This particular stone is known for offering strength and calm and of course had my name put on this particular piece.
The ceramic disc (around 7cm in size) has been through 3 kiln firings. This helps to bring about the glazed finish and helps the personalisation become permanent.
This particular piece is made using Cornish porcelain and is absolutely beautiful. I already have a couple of people in mind who I will be buying one for in time.

Bunny Reusable Hanging Car/Wardrobe Air Freshener
Next up is something from Cerys current online pop-up shop and is this beautiful bunny air freshener.
It has been cleverly designed to offer a light fragrance to a small area of your choice. The fragrance is added by dropping essential oil directly onto the bunny, which then releases the scent slowly into the area.
The bunny is made using Cornish Porcelain Clay and hangs on a jute string in a choice of colours. This makes for a more eco-friendly option than many in the market as it can be reused time after time.
Once again they are a number of shapes to choose from in the air freshener range. Meaning if you like the idea, but bunnies aren’t for you, you might still find the perfect shape.
The bunny reusable hanging air freshener comes in at £5.50.
Overall Thoughts on Carys Boyle Ceramics
I was really impressed with everything about Carys Boyle Ceramics, the items made are just incredibly great value for money. Especially when you think about the time that would be put into each item.
You can tell that Carys puts a lot of effort and love into her items, which results in a beautiful, well-presented finished piece.
Many of the items from the range are small enough to be letterbox sized and Carys makes sure that the finished product once packed still fits through. Meaning they make for great presents which will be delivered on the first try.

I really like the Personalised Yoga Om Bracelet just because I’m always a fan of personalised items. Whether it is your own name or the name of someone you love, it can really strengthen your confidence by wearing something with meaning. Of course the meaning is the under your interpretation.
