What Has Four Legs, A Snout And A Tail
Do you have a few acres of land to spare?
Do you have kids that you love with all your heart?
Then perhaps you should get them a pet that can use all that space. A friend that can give them a ride, is gentle and can last them for a long time. They can grow up with this pet and learn about animals on a deeper level.
So why not get them a horse? Or perhaps a donkey? Or perhaps an alpaca?
There are plenty of choices for a pet that is going to become a joy to play with, but these are some of the dream animals we wish we had when we were children. So how should parents decide?
Donkeys for Fun.

Donkeys are sweet animals, they’re gentle and calming. For a child that suffers from anxiety, they make for good companions that can help them cool down.
Donkeys are not known to be unpredictable and not known to lash out with their hooves.
They are animals that love to be social, so they need to be looked after very carefully. Unlike horses that can wander in afield by themselves without feeling lonely, donkeys cannot.
You must have a good idea of the kind of child you have, someone who will have a good temperament and not give up on the pet donkey after a month or so when the novelty has worn off.
Horses for Courses.

Horses are truly just like human beings. They have personalities that are unique and they must be treated as individuals. This is because they are largely herding animals and thus, they need to distinguish themselves from each other if they are to compete in the hierarchy.
Horses are also dangerous if they have not been tamed. If your child wants to learn how to ride, you can get them a workhorse breed.
This is a larger horse but is calmer and more management than stallions. If your child wants to learn about equestrian traditions, then a horse that is delicate and dainty is going to suit them well. However, if you want a horse that can run, get a mustang.
Every horse will need to click with their owner in order for the relationship to flourish
Alpacas are Friendly.

Don’t be fooled by the movies or clips on YouTube, alpacas are actually quite friendly creatures.
No, they don’t always spit, only when they are threatened. So don’t approach an alpaca with your head up and walking directly towards its own face.
Just like you wouldn’t to a human being. These alpacas for sale are prime examples of woolly, friendly, cute animals that could run around your field, minding their own business most of the time and then run towards you to say hi when you get home from your day job.
These animals do need some space to roam. But if that’s not an issue for you, it’s a great investment for your children and yourself. It all depends on what you want for your family lifestyle.
