  4. We moved recently and once we were finally packed away it was amazing how much a tidy bedroom and the last finishing touches transformed the space, I can see how just changing a few little things can really change the feel of a room.

  6. Such great tips, I agree with so many. I’ve recently had a bit of a room overhaul, I emptied every drawer, cupboard, nook and cranny and sorted through everything. Worked out what I still needed, what could be thrown and what could be sold at the boot fair. I personalised the walls with pictures and quote signs, some of which I had forgot I even owned. It feels like a new room and I’ve spent nothing

  7. Great tips! Im definitely for changing the layout of a room. Its amazing the difference it makes changing up where a furniture piece goes.

  8. These are great suggestions. I use some of them often cause they isn’t really time to change the decor with a baby in the picture. I do like to change the curtains now and then.

  10. I think you must have been eavesdropping to our conversation tonight! Our bedroom decoration is so dull. Its freshly painted so doesn’t need painting but it really needs tarting up! New bed, cushions & curtains are on the list!

  16. For sure a good clear out and clean up would transform my bedroom-it seriously needs help. It unfortunately is the dumping ground for the rest of the house-don’t know where it goes? Stick it in my bedroom! Ugh, I dislike it. lol

    1. Accent walls can really make for a great feature can’t they – definitely something to think about.

  20. I love the ideas you have posted in here, and I certainly need to take some of them on board. I need to have a good clear out, throwing out lots of makeup and half used products that are just taking up space. I want to make a mood board too! x

    1. It is so easy to just start collecting things isn’t it – hopefully I can take some time and cut back on non-essentials as well.

  21. I am trying to get my room cleaned up before we leave for a big trip. I desperately need to declutter! Funny that I am an adult but I still need to work on cleaning my bedroom! It has turned into a laundry room!

  25. Those are great tips. I do need to clean up and wash my carpet as well. I have to admit that I’m a bit of a hoarder. I improved a lot since I got married and we did not quite had space for bout our stuff :)) but I think I still have some stuff I don’t use. I should clean it this weekend.

    1. Ash and I can be a bit hordery it is awful isn’t it – sometimes I buy things then think oh pants where’s this going to go haha!

  26. Growing up, I loved to rearrange my room! I usually just moved my furniture around to new places. Now I love changing up my duvet cover or the wall art, especially as the seasons change. Unfortunately the house I’m renting now doesn’t allow for much change in where the bed can go.

  27. I like to mix up the look of my room since it does look a lot fresher that way. The mood board is also a great idea.

    1. It really does doesn’t it, but it is nice to have ways to do it without having to completely re-decorate.

    1. It can make a huge difference, and things like changing the curtains is such a great idea as they are a huge focal point.

  35. I transformed my bedroom by adding some art on the walls and by changing the curtains. What a difference did that make! I didn’t hear about a mood board before, I’ll have to check that out.

  36. I like the idea of a decorating board. It would be easy to change things up whenever you wanted to. I really like that thought.

    1. It is nice isn’t it – I try and go for plain walls so I can change accessories to make the room look different.

  37. I love this! I recently changed the layout of my room and it honestly makes such a big difference. I’ve not set a reminder to change my layout every 3-4 months just to see what that does for me mentally. at the moment I’m so exicited to be in my room. I even bought some candles and small decorations.

  42. I love refreshing rooms just by tweaking a few things. For me it’s a new coat of paint on the walls in a different color, changing up bedding comforters, getting new throw pillows, and a few new decorative items.

    1. Artwork is wonderful, Ash and I have perhaps too much though we could do with more room just to put it up.

  45. I’m still trying to get our bedroom fully setup since we moved into our new house almost 3 years ago! It needs a good cleanup/organization, and I’m finally getting art projects together and some up on the walls.

    1. It seems to take forever to get everything sorted out after a move doesn’t it – I’m sure we still have boxes that need unpacking.

  48. My husband and my bedroom need some decorative touches, it’s very plain, but then again we don’t like TOO MUCH STUFF, and we know where we currently live is not our “forever home” so… We also don’t want to jazz anything up too much.

  50. I live in a Cape style house, so my roof is slanted on both sides making it impossible to rearrange the furniture. I try to get a new bedding set every year to keep it fresh.

    1. Oh that is such a shame, I love the idea of changing bedding sets though that can make such a difference itself.
