Spice Pots – Curry Spice Kit Review
PR Sample – Spice Pots sent a couple of their products including the Curry Spice Kit for consideration on my blog.
Do you love all things curry, are you interested in using spices more in your food? Then Spice Pots might be a company you are interested in knowing more about.
Now I’ll be honest, I can’t cook, I was banned a long time ago, due to my issues with touching hot things and being forgetful. So this review was one I handed over to my Mum. She is a good cook and was interested to take on the task of trying out new curry ideas.
Who are Spice Pots?

Spice Pots was launched in 2014, and was established with the idea of allowing people to create consistently delicious curries and Indian-inspired food at home, with the use of perfectly blended spices. However, it had been back in 1993 when travelling and working in India the idea had first formed by founder Melanie.
Today Melanie believes in quick, simple recipe ideas for people who lead a busy life. As such all the recipes are simple to follow and use easy-to-find ingredients. In fact, many offer swap-out options and can easily be made using even frozen vegetables.
With a wide range of recipes for all courses of a meal, on offer, you might just be stuck for choice on where to start.
Curry Spice Kit with 80 Easy Curry Recipes

My Mum tried out the Curry Spice Kit, which contains 4 pots alongside a 150-page recipe book. Inside, you will find 80 recipe ideas, ranging from starters to desserts.
The Curry Spice Kit includes 4 of the 5 spice pots on offer:
- Bhaun.
- Korma.
- Goan.
- Tandoori Masala.
Missing out just the sweet mixed spice blend, which is used mainly for desserts.
What Did She Think?

My parents normally have a homemade curry once a week and I’ve previously heard my Mum wonder about new ideas. So it was of little surprise to me that she was happy to try out this kit.
Over the past few weeks, she has been trying out different recipes from the included guide. She said these were easy to follow and she liked the fact there was often a note about items you could miss out, or substitute, alongside illustrations and chefs’ tips. One thing she particularly made note of to me was the fact that you could use fresh or frozen vegetables. As this showed how easily these recipes could be made without the need for a huge range of fresh items to be kept in stock at all times.
Both of my parents found the meals to be tasty to eat and had offered up different ways to use the spices they perhaps hadn’t thought of before. (I’m so sad I wasn’t invited around to try the salmon dish!)

My Mum also felt that this would make a great gift idea as well as something to use yourself.
As such, the Spice Pots Curry Spice Kit with 80 Easy Curry Recipes was a huge hit in their house and they are looking forward to trying out more ideas from the booklet.
If you fancy trying the Curry Spice Kit with 80 Easy Curry Recipes for yourself it comes in at £24.95. While they also sell smaller and larger kits and pots on their own.
What do you think of the sound of this kit, is it something you would like to try?
