Share the Love and #ShareASmile this Valentine’s Day!
I’ve been both lucky and unlucky over the years with the neighbours I have ended up living next to and there has so been so many times I have wished I could up and move the good ones nearby again.
One of the issues I suffer, quite badly with, is noise. The vibrations from certain noises put me on edge and make me feel quite poorly, so I was really excited when in the middle of last year we moved into a bungalow, as it meant we never need worry about noise from above again. However, we would never have thought, we could once again have ended up with such wonderful neighbours as we have.
I’ve been suffering quite badly with pain, alongside my mental health this winter, and each Friday, we have had a phone call or knock on the door asking if we would like dinner from the chippy. It might seem like a small gesture to some but to Ash and me it has meant the world.
With that in mind, when the lovely people over at Getting Personal asked me to help them Share the Love and #ShareASmile this Valentine’s Day by showing how it doesn’t just have to be about a partner, but about friends, neighbours and anyone who has made a difference to your life, it was an easy decision by both myself and Ash, that we would treat our lovely neighbours next door.
After having a look through a couple of different options on the Getting Personal website we came across the beautiful Personalised Macallan Whisky Gift Box. To which we were able to add names, an established year and a message, this gift of course also included a bottle of Macallan Whisky inside the beautiful reusable wooden box.
For me it was nice to be able to treat someone who has made such a difference to us this year and I whole heartily agree with the idea that Getting Personal are trying to put across of sharing the love and thinking outside of the box when it comes to who you may want to gift this Valentine’s Day.
If you think your #ShareASmile Valentine might like a Personalised Macallan Whisky Gift Box then you can of course order it now from the Getting Personal website, there is still time to order for the big day.
Who would you #ShareASmile with this Valentine’s Day?

*Getting Personal gifted me a Personalised Macallan Whisky Gift Box, for my neighbour.

I will #shareasmile with some wonderful elderly clients I care for as well as my husband and my youngest son! We actually have new neighbors that moved in not long ago. I think it would be fun to make them something and welcome them into the neighborhood too! What a very nice thing you did and what a great personalized gift!
Aww that is such a lovely idea, I know everyone welcomed us when we moved in here and it was such an amazing thing for them to do.
This is a lovely personalized gifts, perfect this coming Valentine’s day!
I just love personalised gifts, in whatever shape and form! I bet they were very pleased with this thoughtful gift.
They loved it, though apparently we were a little late as he had just popped to the shop for a bottle lol x
I would #shareasmile with all the lovely people who help make sure my mum is ok everyday. She is elderly and frail and lives by herself. The people who just pop over to visit for a chat, go to the shop for her etc are all angels and deserve some form of recognition.
Aww what a lovely thing for them to do <3, it is amazing when you have people around you like that. x
That’s such a lovely gesture from them and I’m glad you’ve found nice neighbours now. I’d probably share something with my Nan because she’s such a huge part of my life x
Aww Nan’s are awesome I miss mine so much 🙂 definitely share a moment with her 🙂 X
I would #ShareASmile this Valentine’s day with a homeless person. I want them to know that they are loved and that someone cares for them. Its the least I can do – to share my blessings with the less fortunate. I would be buying from the Getting Personal Website for upcoming birthdays in my family.
Aww Sarah, I am so happy you have such lovely neighbours who are so good to you and Ash! It really is fantastic when you have people who are caring and helpful, we have gotten lucky with our neighbors at our latest house too, they are helpful when my husband and I are out of town and my daughter is home alone. He will go over and take care of the tons of snow we have been getting this winter, which is so thoughtful. That wooden whiskey box is beautiful and it is so special that you can personalise it, your neighbours will treasure it always x
We have really got so lucky, both sides are so nice, it was sad as just after we moved we spoke to some previous neighbours and apparently they have had nothing but trouble in the years since we left – they even have to lock their bins! I was shocked.
This sounds like such a great gift to give and receive. My brother really likes whiskey this might be perfect for him.
I think I have to consider this one as a gift to my friends on their birthday. The box is also reusable and i love it!
This looks so cool! My dad really likes whiskey so I’m sure he’d like this. My husband really doesn’t drink it.
I would probably share with my kids (ex) stepmom and her husband. We are always sending things over and they would definitely enjoy this. Love the box too!
This looks like a great gift. Love the personalization too. Thanks for sharing x
That is why we don’t live in a city or town anymore. The good and bad neighbors. Living in the country is my way to get away.
I would love to live in the middle of nowhere, though we are in a small village now which is lovely.
It is so nice having nice neighbours it is strange how we have often forgotten about the little community around us.
I’ve been debating what to get for a valentine’s gift and this is both cute and very very tasty. I think I’ll have most of the whiskey 😉
Haha nothing wrong with that if you like a tipple.
Ooo I love whiskey so I’ll definitely have to try this out!
I have a sister who has a sensitivity to noise and it make her unwell, for me it makes me feel sick and gives me painful migraines. I think that is a lovely gift to give to your thoughtful neighbors xx
It is strange what noise can do to you isn’t it 🙁 x
Sounds like a nice gift to both receive and give. Love the reusable wooden box could be very useful!
It is such a cute box isn’t it – I can think of so many things to use it for.
I love this idea! I always think it’s so fun to give gifts and make people happy 🙂
Xo,
Megan
I do as well, I often think we don’t thank those around us enough. x
I live in a flat and I always feel awkward when I pass my neighbor! It’s nice that you get on well with yours. This personalised gift is so lovely, I like the ‘established’ option.
I wish I could have put the year they got together or something, but we went with the year we moved in haha!
What an awesome gift to give! My boyfriend is a huge Macallan fan, so I’d love to gift him this.
The other half took it around and got told I’ve just brought myself a little bottle, I’m going to enjoy this one.
What a fab idea and what lovely neighbours you have! x
I really do, I honestly cried the first time they did it, I was overwhelmed they had thought of us.
I will be #sharingasmile with my Husband on Valentines. I’m so glad you have lovely neighbours they make all the difference. Our lovely neighbours moved out last year, we really miss them, hoping the people who have bought their house are equally as lovely x
Aww enjoy #SharingASmile with him. We are so very lucky he is amazing, he puts out the bins when I can’t and everything! x
No wonder this made you happy
They are beautiful
I will be #sharingASmile this Valentines day with my wonderful hubby of almost 20 years. It’s double celebrations all round as it’s also his birthday 🙂
Personalised gifts are just the best! And the Getting Pesonal site has some gorgeous products i really would be spoilt for choice x x
Oh Happy Birthday to your other half as well <3
