Share the Love and #ShareASmile this Valentine’s Day!
I’ve been both lucky and unlucky over the years with the neighbours I have ended up living next to and there has so been so many times I have wished I could up and move the good ones nearby again.
One of the issues I suffer, quite badly with, is noise. The vibrations from certain noises put me on edge and make me feel quite poorly, so I was really excited when in the middle of last year we moved into a bungalow, as it meant we never need worry about noise from above again. However, we would never have thought, we could once again have ended up with such wonderful neighbours as we have.
I’ve been suffering quite badly with pain, alongside my mental health this winter, and each Friday, we have had a phone call or knock on the door asking if we would like dinner from the chippy. It might seem like a small gesture to some but to Ash and me it has meant the world.
With that in mind, when the lovely people over at Getting Personal asked me to help them Share the Love and #ShareASmile this Valentine’s Day by showing how it doesn’t just have to be about a partner, but about friends, neighbours and anyone who has made a difference to your life, it was an easy decision by both myself and Ash, that we would treat our lovely neighbours next door.
After having a look through a couple of different options on the Getting Personal website we came across the beautiful Personalised Macallan Whisky Gift Box. This is absolutely wonderful. I don’t think people get to know their neighbors enough this day in age. It’s so rare to hear of a friendship like this and so nice that you were able to give them a token of appreciation.

I bought something similar to this but it held a bottle of champagne. It was for a friends retirement and they absolutely loved it! The box made such a good keepsake too x

I will #shareasmile with some wonderful elderly clients I care for as well as my husband and my youngest son! We actually have new neighbors that moved in not long ago. I would #shareasmile with all the lovely people who help make sure my mum is ok everyday. She is elderly and frail and lives by herself. The people who just pop over to visit for a chat, go to the shop for her etc are all angels and deserve some form of recognition.

I would #ShareASmile this Valentine’s day with a homeless person. I want them to know that they are loved and that someone cares for them. Its the least I can do – to share my blessings with the less fortunate. I would be buying from the Getting Personal Website for upcoming birthdays in my family.
Aww Sarah, I am so happy you have such lovely neighbours who are so good to you and Ash! It really is fantastic when you have people who are caring and helpful, we have gotten lucky with our neighbors at our latest house too, they are helpful when my husband and I are out of town and my daughter is home alone. He will go over and take care of the tons of snow we have been getting this winter, which is so thoughtful. That wooden whiskey box is beautiful and it is so special that you can personalise it, your neighbours will treasure it always x
We have really got so lucky, both sides are so nice, it was sad as just after we moved we spoke to some previous neighbours and apparently they have had nothing but trouble in the years since we left – they even have to lock their bins! I was shocked.

That is why we don’t live in a city or town anymore. The good and bad neighbors. Living in the country is my way to get away.
I would love to live in the middle of nowhere, though we are in a small village now which is lovely.
It is so nice having nice neighbours it is strange how we have often forgotten about the little community around us.

I have a sister who has a sensitivity to noise and it make her unwell, for me it makes me feel sick and gives me painful migraines. I think that is a lovely gift to give to your thoughtful neighbors xx

I live in a flat and I always feel awkward when I pass my neighbor! It’s nice that you get on well with yours. This personalised gift is so lovely, I like the ‘established’ option.
