Pairfum London Fragrance Library: Review
I do love fragrance, there is something which can really uplift a mood with it. My Mum once said to me, if your having a bad day even if you don’t put make up on spritz a bit of perfume and it might make you smile.
She was right. Of course, it is no magic wand, but there is something about fragrance, which at least for me can help uplift, relax or invigorate me. Which as aromatherapy suggests is something that many people find.
As such when I was contacted by Pairfum London, to try out their Fragrance Library, I jumped at the chance.
Who are Pairfum London?

Pairfum London is a company who specialise in a private collection of fragrances.
They offer both home and personal fragrance, all of which are handmade in the UK by artisans.
Each of their fragrances is designed to be luxury with a conscious. Each one is both natural and eco-friendly.
As a company they strive to be different; as in their industry, a company can claim a product to be natural with the inclusion of just 20% natural ingredients.
Pairfum London is different; with each item being 100% natural. They also use no GMO ingredients (did you know that 99% of soy wax candles include GMOs?), while all essential oils are natural or organic. That’s no the end they are also co2 neutral and non-toxic and non-carcinogenic.
Fragrance Library – Perfume Experience.

Trying fragrances is a very personal experience and something that should be done carefully. As such Pairfum London have come up with the fragrance library, which allows you to try their range from the comfort of your home.
Alongside 12 sample bottles, each including around 100 sprays each (enough to allow daily wear for around 2 weeks). There are 50 smelling strips too allow you to sample and share your perfect before wear.
As someone who has found since my fibromyalgia has got worse, my sense of smell has become more sensitive and what I can wear has changed. Being able to try things longer term is a great help.
Fragrance Testing.

If you are unsure the best way to test fragrances a great in-depth guide is offered here.
However, here is a quick rundown on the best way to fragrance test is:
- Use a test strip. Try not to get the fragrance on your hands as this will influence future samples.
- Once you have it narrowed down to around 2 then it is time to try the fragrance yourself. Spray on the wrist and do not rub. Allow the fragrance to naturally worth through its cycle and notes through the day.
- Nasal fatigue is real and sets in after about 3 different scents. So don’t test too many fragrances at once.
If you are wondering about which perfumes you get try via this box well they are:
- Bergamot, Basil and Patchouli.
- Black Cherry and Oolong Tea.
- Cardamom, Tonka and White Oud.
- Ginger, Elemi and Vetiver.
- Grapefruit, Pepper and Black Cedar.
- Mandarin Blossom and Sandalwood.
- Neroli, Musk, Orange Blossom.
- Pink Rose and Sensuous Musk.
- Scarlet Rhubarb and Oakmoss.
- Sea Salt, Sage and Amber.
- Spiced Coffee and Oaked Vanilla.
- Spiced Rum, Lime and Guaiac Wood.
When trying fragrances it is always worth remembering that while step one is to try it away from your skin. It is only once you have it on yourself, you can see how that fragrance reacts with your skin.
Personally I have no issue with any rose fragrance. However, once I put many on my skin, they smell awful.
As such testing away from and on your skin, while giving the fragrance time to cycle through its phases is a must.
My Thoughts on the Perfume Libary.

Personally I think this is an amazing way to try out the wide range of niche perfumes that Pairfum London has on offer.
It allows you to take all the time you need to go through trying the 12 fragrance. From giving yourself time between smelling each one on the test sheets. To then testing what works well with your own chemistry and sense of smell.
Plus if after trying you decide you need a full-size bottle in your life you can claim back the cost of the perfume library on purchase. So if you are thinking about buying a perfume there is no reason do to test it out via the library beforehand.
I definitely found that being able to try over a longer period, meant that I could fully evaluate how the perfume worked for me across the notes change. As such I think this has changed the way I will look to buy perfumes in the future, looking to try out samples before purchase.
If you would like to try out the Pairfum London Fragrance Library Perfume Experience for yourself it comes in at £30.
What do you think of the sound of the perfume library, would you like to trial samples this way?
I received the items shown in this post free of charge for the purpose of this review. This, however, doesn’t affect my opinions which are as always honest.

I like the sound of these! I struggle with making decisions, so to sample multiple fragrances at home would help!
I’m surprised I haven’t heard of Pairfum London, sounds like they make lovely fragrances! individual fragrances sounds interesting 🙂
They have some really love perfumes going on really different!
What a lovely unique present this would make for someone. These fragrances sound like they would smell so good.
They are all so unique and smell lovely! Definitely a lovely gift idea.
Isn’t it weird how physical conditions can affect our sense of smell? I couldn’t stand most scents during chemo and now I can hardly smell them!
It is so strange, I really struggle at times with some smells and everything is so much stronger.
I love that they are natural and eco-friendly. A fragrance library is a fantastic idea!
It is such a great idea and a lovely way to get to try out new fragrances.
I’m something of a fragrance addict and I love the idea of this set, being able to try and combine fragrances in this way is such a clever idea
It really is – it has definitely changed the way I think about trying out fragrances.
I love that these are totally natural x
It is great isn’t it – I love that they have that going for them.
I love trying new fragrances!! 🙂 Will need to give this one a go as for the last couple years I stuck with the same scents and brands x
Ohh definitely give it a try then – it is amazing all the different scents included! Each one is so unique.
I loved reading this. It’s great to learn about a fragrance library!
I am so pleased you enjoyed it – honestly it is such a great way to try out fragrance.
Handmade, indiviually catered for perfumes sounds amazing. I love the idea that a scent could be unique for you rather than being one of many wearing the same.
It’s so nice isn’t it – I love that they have so many different scents which you just won’t find every day on the high street.
this sounds right up my alley as I love natural products and am a big fan of natural fragrances – they are so much gentler on the planet and skin, and I love how varied they can be x
I notice that you mention that your sense of smell has become more sensitive as your fibromyalgia has worsened. Makes me wonder if this is a known symptom of the condition. As if so, why? Also if so, perhaps those with this symptom if willing to share information regarding this symptom, and any successful ways of dealing / coping / managing this aspect /symptom of the condition could assist peer/s if / when they may have to deal with this aspect for themself /ves.
Also makes me wonder how much fibromyalgia re impacts upon. As well as what measures can improve quality of life for those who are impacted by this ill health condition.
The population are generally encouraged to have good nutrition. So it seems that healthy foodstuffs should be easily obtained. Accessible, available, acceptable, appropriate :- Home, Pre-school Nursery, Childcare Facilities, School, College, University, Workplace/s , shopping centres, etc being all the places that we attend / accommodate over /at mealtimes, it seems these are priority places to have access to healthy, nutritious meals and snacks. Humans requiring to food for energy in order to function / be productive. Seems obvious that that should be easily accessible. Yet how well sourced are these places in regards to our daily needs?
Generally we hear that life is stressful. Why? Seems that Government, etc should be aiming to make our Enviroments, etc less stressful in order that we can work, rest, play :- Have a well balanced, happy, healthy life / lifestyle.
Would perhaps improvements on these aspects of life assist those with fibromyalgia, as well as the whole general population / nation, etc?
Yes, sensory overload is both part of fibromyalgia and ME so realistically it could be either that caused it or both in me. I also can’t deal with loud noises, have light sensitivity and struggle when there is too much going on at once (all of which are part of sensory overload). It’s something going on in the brain which means it isn’t working correctly to deal with all the information coming in.
The only real way to deal with it is to remove yourself from the situation causing it, as it can bring on panic attacks, heart palpitations, dizziness etc.. which will then lead to intensified pain levels and fatigue.
There are many articles about it if you google sensory overload fibromyalgia or sensory overload ME.
I hope that helps a bit.
This sounds like such a great way to try out the right perfume for you.
It really is – it is great to learn more about what suits you from the comfort of your home.
I love the idea of a fragrance library, what a brilliant idea . I have never heard of one before but could definitely benefit from it
It is such a great idea, I had sort of wondered the point of testers in the past but I totally get it now!
What a great way to have variety and know what scent is right for someone. I love the idea of the sea salt, because that has been always a favorite of mine
It’s really interesting as a fragrance isn’t it? I love that you get to try things you might not have thought of with it too.
I don’t wear a ton of perfume due to allergies. If I do wear it, it needs to have a light scent that isn’t overwhelming. I would love to try the sampler kit before committing to buy a huge bottle of perfume.
It makes all the difference when you have something like that, my sense of smell and what I can deal with has changed so much since I’ve been poorly and this helps to try and see what does / doesn’t work.
I subscribe to a monthly fragrance program that delivers new scents to me each month but I really intrigued/interested in this option especially as a way to support small/local businesses.
Ohh that sounds like a nice way to get to try different perfumes out I might have to think about doing that myself.
Yes, good idea. I like that it is essential oils / aromatherapy. I have tended to buy box of various perfumes from a manufacturer / brand :- Containing small bottles of their range. As provides variety, and also allows time to determine favourite /s. Which can be obtained full size at a later date :- When required, offered as a gift, etc.
Aromatherapy is perhaps something I should explore in more detail. As you mention some may be suitable for room / atmosphere. Whilst another may be more appropriate for skin application / aromatherapy massage, etc. We are all individual with a variety of appropriate ( as some have allergy, dislike, etc), acceptable, available, accessible. Whilst for the home :- Need to consider others, etc.
Aromatherapy is really interesting, I didn’t think much of it until I realised that scents really can change my moods at times.
This is a great idea, it’s so true that sometimes the fragrance changes over time so it’s nice to give them a go first.
It really does and I think it’s something we can often forget when buying fragrance.
I agree that fragrance can make a huge difference in one’s mood. I love the idea of a perfume library.
It’s amazing how it can really uplift you.
Healthy fragrances, that’s new. Look the concept.
It’s really interesting isn’t it – I like how they have given a new look to fragrance.
A perfume library sounds like an awesome idea. I love perfumes and I love trying out different scents.
It is such a great idea – it really nice to be able to try everything out that they offer.
I think this is a great way to test out perfumes. Good to know how to properly test a perfume as well, I always end up with too many different smells when I try them out in the duty free and it makes me abandon buying one. I think the mandarin and sandalwood would fit me best, I love this combination in perfumes.
The mandarin and sandalwood is gorgeous I have to say. It’s amazing how a fragrance does change as the day goes on – I’m glad this taught me to test them properly!
I’ve tried this purfume before and found it lovely. But it was much more to my mothers taste than mine. I usually go for cheaper perfumes.
Which one did you try or was it the whole library?
I love trying always a new frangrance. I also love to change so I will definitely try this one!
There’s something wonderful about trying a new one isn’t there?
It is great to get to try so many different ones and really helps you work out what works for you.
Those sound like some really lovely mixtures. I think certain smells can really influence our emotional health!
It is incredible how scent can and does change your mood!
Oh wow how fab is this. What a great way to find the perfect fragrance for you and I would deffo give this a go x
It is so good, I would suggest anyone gives it a try just to play with the fragrances.
I love fragrances, too! It gives us a positive vibe! Pairfum London sounds amazing. I will check this out.
It is amazing how one can just lift you and make you feel so much better.
This set of fragrances is a great way to try a whole bunch of scents and find your favorite one!
It really is – from now on I will also try testers first!
I love the idea of the fragrance library where you can try all the scents and work out which ones you like the most and which ones work well together x
It is so good it really makes me think more about what works long term for me.
I think a testing kit is an excellent idea, i have teenage daughter whos trying to find out what she likes etc, and would find this very useful, great review
Definitely get her into the habit of trying before she buys early!
I agree with your mum, scents can really upfit moods and I know for me they do. Would love to try these mini fragrances.
It is amazing how they can do that I always think.
I love scents, too. I find myself getting in a rut, because I will fall in love so hard with a scent!
Nothing wrong with that I have a long term addiction with anything lavender as it calms and relaxes me.
I love this as I am a fragrance lover. Always spray on me some and makes me feel amazing. I bet I would enjoy this London frangace library experience. Giving hints to my husband for a nice gift idea.
It is such a lovely set and comes so beautifully presented – definitely a good gift idea.
What a beutiful experience. I enjoy fragances soIam sure I woudllove getting a gift like this.
It is so nice to just sit and try something new and see how it works for you and learn how to try fragrances properly too!
A spritz of perfume always makes me feel good! I love the idea of a fragrance library – such a great way to find what you like.
It can really brighten how you feel can’t it? Something about a good perfume.
I do like the idea of the fragrance library as I love my fragrance but seem to be quite fussy so before I go out and purchase a whole bottle it will be nice to try it on first
Definitely and it means you can live with it for a while to make sure it really is right for you.
I ove that they are natural and eco friendly. The small bottles is a great way to decide which frangrance you like best before buying a larger bottle in those scents.
Definitely it really makes a difference getting to try them at home I think, especially now I know how to properly try out a fragrance.
That sounds like a wonderful way to try fragrances. So many times I’ve tried one sample and it smells good at the time, but when I got home I didn’t like it.
Definitely it’s the notes in them as it runs through, a perfume at the start of the day smells so different to the middle and end.
