  3. We currently live in Japan, but frequently travel back to the UK. We do exactly what you suggest re the flights: We book them about 11 months in advance and by doing so save several hundred pounds. And easy way to save some money. 🙂

  6. for us we tend to do things last minute , hubby has his wn business and its only god if the weathers good or dry at least so we dont tend to get away that as well as the huge cost and we cant actually get a hotel for a good price that fits us all in one room x

  8. I always use cash back sites, but it’s amazing how many people don’t. I recently introduced a self-employed business friend to Quidco and he’s saving a fortune in his personal travel!

  9. fab tips. We realised that in America coupons are used all the time and we found using them was expected and saved us loads of money

  10. I would also recommend using topcashback (or similar) for buying travel money. It’s an easy way of getting money back for something that most people order in large quantities online anyway!

  11. fantastic advice! I used to work in Travel and was used to booking people’s flights 12 months in advance, so when booking travel for myself I always book in advance, cheaper and it means it is sorted quicker too! I am booking our train tickets on Tuesday for our June holiday can’t wait x

  12. I love staying in short-term rental homes such as through HomeAway or Airbnb when I’m traveling. I love the extra space and how cheap they usually are!
