The Story Behind Viking Creatures Co
Viking Creatures Co was created by Lotta, a Swedish history teacher from Scandinavia who grew up surrounded by Viking history and runestones. Her love of the Viking Age, combined with a fondness for animals and humour, inspired her to start designing T-shirts that blend historical themes with playful pet illustrations.
The brand focuses on fun designs featuring cats, dogs and Norse mythology references, bringing together historical inspiration with a light-hearted, slightly absurd twist. The whole idea is simple but brilliant: Vikings… but with pets.
It’s also very much a small-business project. Lotta designs the shirts herself and runs the brand solo, handling everything from design to customer messages.
Another thing that makes Viking Creatures Co interesting is the way the shirts are produced. Every T-shirt is made to order and printed in the country you’re ordering from at the moment it is offered for both the UK and the US.
This helps reduce waste and speeds up delivery while still supporting a small independent creator.

The Mjolnir? No… This Is Meownir T-Shirt
One of the designs that instantly caught my attention was the Mjolnir? No… This Is Meownir Viking Cat T-Shirt.
As the name suggests, the design is a play on Thor’s famous hammer, Mjolnir, but with a feline twist, with the design featuring a rather fierce-looking Viking cat proudly wielding “Meownir”.
It’s exactly the kind of design that makes you smile the moment you see it.
The artwork combines classic Viking imagery with a bold cat illustration that keeps the whole thing fun rather than overly serious. It’s the perfect blend of mythology and humour, especially if you happen to be a cat person.
