  1. I’ve been decorating and have now completed our spare bedroom, just need to buy some accessories for it when we are allowed out more.

I feeling quite pleased with myself that I’ve achieved something.

  2. It is nice that people are working out ways to make their business work during this time.

  3. Like you my anxiety is high . If you have it to start with what’s going on now isn’t helping . I get so many awful symptoms it’s a difficult one. Been locked down isn’t great . I got most of my pleasure seeing my 6 year old grandson . We’ve had him so much since he was born while his mum and dad work and so miss him. FaceTime is ok but not like having the hugs
and the playing with him . Emotions are up and down .
Hopefully we will be out of all this soon. Can’t come quick enough for me. So sorry for all the people this has affected though I’ve never known anything like this before it really is a nightmare . Staying safe and taking each day as it comes for now. You take care too x

    1. Oh bless you it must to be so hard to suddenly be away from him. Hugs just are everything aren’t they?

  4. I’m finding most aspects of the lockdown are OK, apart from not getting to see my children and granddaughter. We have a family call every week, and in between we exchange texts and my daughter posts videos of my granddaughter, but it’s not the same as actually being able to hug them.
My husband has been cooking a weekly meal for some friends of ours who are in isolation. He has to leave it on their front door step, but at least he is able to chat to the husband for a few minutes to help cheer him up.

  5. Oh what a nightmare about the computer, my laptop has started playing up so am hoping to keep it going as cannot afford a new one yet. Hope you get your anxiety under control soon xxx

  6. I am sorry your anxiety has been high, it’s so hard to manage, isn’t it? I have real flashes of unmanageable panic and fear and worry then it goes then I am ok, which is very hard to manage. I had to go to Asda last week for food and came out utterly traumatized by the lack of social distancing and had a really panic attack. Rang my GP to chat about my mental health and she realized that she should have put us on a shielded list for the teenager who has health issues and hadn’t. So now we get food deliveries which is making life much less fraught.
That is very cool about the bbc thing, well done.

    1. Oh gosh I am so sorry – I am so glad you have found yourself put on the shielded list so you are getting some help in now that is so important I think.

  7. The lock down is indeed starting to take a mental toll. Can’t wait to get out there again and not be afraid of germs. It might be a while, but it’s something to look forward to. Hang tight!

  8. I’m sorry your anxiety has been bad this week. It’s been an up and down week for us too, especially the kids. They’re really missing their friends and extended family now.

    1. I can’t imagine what it is like for kids, especially those who aren’t old enough to understand why.

  9. Up until today I have been doing fine. Today I really had a crappy day. I yelled at my husband for unpacking a bag. So silly! Then my husband yelled at my daughter for not closing a kitchen cabinet because he then hit his head on it! UGH! This family togetherness stuff is not for the weak!

  10. . I lost my job as an A level/ GCSE teacher and an examiner. I am a widow with young kids so the only earner. I was just let go from work on the 18th of march. I was in total shock I cried for the first few days then I started to ring companies to say my bills would be late but no one was answering phones still not answering after five weeks.
I realised there wasn’t much I could do for now .so I have thrown my self into home teaching, baking and taking kids into the garden and making bird tables for the birds , bug hotels and just focusing on them Crafting, exercising and just trying not to think about anything beyond today.

    1. Oh my goodness I am so sorry 🙁 what a nightmare for you. I have to admit I’m doing similar I can’t think beyond the day.

  11. Our local chip shop now does deliveries, check your locality, you could be eating those much craved chippies sooner than you think!

  12. As I read these, and I know this won’t be popular, but I find myself feeling a little jealous. I still have to go to work every day and our manager isn’t concerned about the danger he puts us in, and will not listen to our concerns. I have ASD so have been struggling with all the changes and I have always been quite happy to be left on my own, and never get bored. My anxiety and depression is through the roof I really don’t know how much longer I can continue without breaking down.

    1. That is awful! I am so, so sorry you having to go through that 🙁 can you ask to go on furlough?

  13. Sarah some really good questions on here. I just try and keep to a routine especially during the week. It is really hard at times but I try and focus on the positives

    1. I think routine is key in some ways – we are all used to having some sort of routine in our lives.

  14. I’ve totally lost track of time. It’s a shame the rainbow went wrong. Colouring in can be really relaxing. We did a lot when my daughter was in hospital. I hope the BBC use the spoken and written piece as it will be helpful for others.

    1. Sadly they didn’t – it wasn’t picked up, but it still helped me in some ways so it’s OK.

  15. We are getting used to being in isolation, but that doesn’t necessarily make it any easier. We miss sports and music the most, because those are things that the kids really enjoyed on their team / orchestra / band.

  16. I still can’t believe Argos won’t take back the laptop. How would they even know it’s been turned on?! And as long as you haven’t started using it properly it’s still sellable. Hope you’re doing okay x

  17. I’ve been feeling anxious and frustrated this week too. Hopefully next week will be better!

  18. During this lockdown, I have been working from home weekdays, and in between I have been keeping myself busy with reading books, writing on my blog, watching films and speaking to family and friends.

It certainly hasn’t been easy, but for me personally I have tried to take it all in my stride and so far I am coping well. For me the key is to keep myself occupied as much as I can, but I do understandand appreciate that everyone is dealing with the lockdown in their own way.

I do appreciate you sharing your thoughts on how you coping with the lockdown. Sometimes it is better to get those thoughts out of your head, and written down.

    Take care!

    1. It sounds like you are getting on with it well which is such a good thing.

I’m definitely finding that writing about it helps in some strange way.

  19. Sorry that you’ve had tech issues, so annoying that you aren’t able to return the laptop. Thank you for the colouring sheets, I’ve just printed some of those off for us to complete.

  20. The first week I could not get an online shopping delivery from any supermarket for a month . I have just had my first food delivery since lockdown yesterday . I have just booked my next one for just over a fortnight’s time , the problem is everything goes out of stock

    1. Wow that’s crazy! We managed to get an Iceland one for this week which means at least we got some things! We get one a fortnight hopefully with Ocado but the same as your seeing everything is out of stock.

  21. It’s really hard but we are coping up! We are always thinking of things to keep us occupied other than work. Sometimes we get ideas online. Thank you for sharing your week with us, Hope you and your family are all well.

  22. It is courageous of you to share your story here and with the BBC. I hope the BBC use your contribution.

Now that the sunshine is showing up more often, I am trying to get outside a bit to tidy up pots and pull out weeds. Hope the garden centres open soon. I like to plant shrubs and flowers that the bees and butterflies enjoy.

Not worrying about the virus for myself but been thinking about the cats and dogs whose mummy or daddy (who lives alone) has been taken to hospital. What happens to them? Who would come into the house of a Covid-19 positive person to feed them? Would the RSPCA collect them?

    1. They didn’t sadly, they decided not to run the feature bar on the Asian network (go them)!

You know what I hadn’t thought of that 🙁 hopefully, something can be done to help them.

  23. My husband is pretty vulnerable, so we’ve been having our groceries delivered. I’m so grateful to the essential workers and healthcare workers!

Lately, I’ve been confused about what day of the week it is.

  24. Exercise and keeping consistent wakeup/bedtimes have been huge for me during quarantine. Keeping some sort of routine in my life helps me maintain a sense of normalcy.

  25. We are still on lockdown and no school until fall. Having the kids and their school work has kept us busy and minds off what is going on.

    1. I think we are likely going to have no school until autumn as well, I can’t imagine how hard that will be on parents.

  26. Missouri is still on lock down through May 4. I don’t know what will happen then. Schools are completely closed until August.

    1. Good luck with working through how it is over there for you. We have 2 more weeks for sure, but then we don’t know what will happen at that time.

  27. I have been keeping busy during lockdown by finding new hobbies as a way to entertain myself, as well as do something which I have been meaning to do such as gardening. Especially since we are having a lovely Spring.

    1. It is such a lovely spring isn’t it? I can’t remember last year being quite this nice lol.

  28. This is such a strange, difficult situation. We haven’t been leaving much either in NYC. I would say some days are certainly easier than others and we just have to take it one day at a time. Be kind to yourself!

    1. I can’t imagine what it is like for you in NYC, it seems to be such an epicentre at the moment.

  29. Oh I love the stuff that you’ve bought especially those badges! Sending you lots of love, it’s been a trying week.

  30. Its been 5 weeks of lockdown for us and its not getting any easier, we are staying busy by changing up our activities and doing something different each day. Love the Keep Your Distance Badge and think I will be getting some printed for us

  31. Thanks for sharing the links to those Etsy shops. I’ve been meaning to look to see if anyone was selling homemade facemasks to go over my medical mask. Great read!

    1. I have a feeling it’s going to become normal after a while and going back to the real world will be just as hard.

  32. That’s amazing about BBC! I can’t wait to see how that goes! And my anxiety has been high too. It comes in waves. There are times when it feels fine, everything seems fine, and then all of a sudden my anxiety washes over me. I know I have to stay on top of it, and it will be ok. I like that you are giving yourself the space and time to stay healthy. You are being gentle with yourself and that’s so important.

    1. Oh gosh, I totally forgot to update that part – sadly most of the BBC didn’t take up the feature, the only part that did was the BBC Asian Network who had some UK Asians speaking about how they are struggling with it. So huge props to the BBC Asian Network and those that took part, it’s a shame other parts of the BBC decided not to go forward with it.

  33. We are all just trying to make the best of this situation. I am basically a homebody so this has not affected me so much. The kids have their on line classes so this has kept them occupied.

  34. It can be tricky! I have masks too since it’s mandatory to wear here. I need to get some cute ones so I’ll be checking out Etsy 😉

    1. Oh gosh – I think they will probably bring in something like that here at some point but at the moment they are trying to get as much as possible to the NHS.

  35. I have taken this time to restart my blog. I feel more focused and confident with my posts, and I’m learning more about the ins and outs of my blog. To answer your questions:
I have down days, as well as up days. Writing my posts and watching t.v. with my wife helps me a lot. My wife and I have somewhat been self-isolated ever since our daughter went to college in 2014. Obviously, we’d attend family gatherings; but, for the most part, we’ve always kept to ourselves.

    1. Good luck on restarting your blog I really hope it all works out well for you. I find writing can be so helpful and I hope it helps you a little as well.

  36. I have been able to return a laptop I bought by phoning the manufacturer and complaining until I got a case number. Because I had this number, the retailer had no choice but to accept it and give me a refund. I complained about noise from the fan that apparently mysteriously ran quietly when the retailer checked it. I think it’s important to not give in

    1. Ohh I’ll give that a try and see what happens. It’s so annoying I never buy technology such as laptops unless I see them working so I can be sure but needs must and it showed me why lol.

  37. I am loving this linky, it is lovely to see how everyone is coping in the lockdown. I had a huge meltdown last week total foot stamping the lot felt better for it though x

  38. My anxiety has been high this week too, we have had our boiler go so we have been without heating and hot water for most of the week. Trying to sort it has been so stressful and I hope it’s sorted soon.

    1. Oh no that is awful – what a time for it happen, I can’t imagine how stressful that has been.

  39. Our state is opening up again this Friday. I plan to continue to self-isolate as our death toll is still rising.

    1. Oh gosh, that must be scary for you – we are still in lockdown, they are doing it in 3-week increments so at least 2 more weeks.

  40. I have started to do 5d diamond painting, It is quite relaxing to do and helps me to shut the world off for a few hours otherwise I would go crazy stuck in doors

    1. I’ve seen those about are they easy to do? I’d love to do something but worry about my shakes.
