  1. I think that will be an issue – I think it will feel just as strange going out as it does staying in.

  2. I bought my granddaughter a sleep suit from Sparks and Daughter’s on Etsy, it had a rabbit on the back and I had it sent straight to their home as we can’t see them until lockdown is over.

  3. My family and I are actually doing great and are spending quality time together past few days. I try not to go out as much as possible.

  4. It’s a little hard at times isn’t it? But I am taking this opportunity to catch up on my favourite TV shows and get some gardening done, since we have the weather for it at the moment.

  5. Having the questions are definitely helpful. Just by reading it has given a sense of inspiration to try for this coming week.

    Stay Safe.

  6. Like this idea a lot! We’ve just been staying at home but going for long walks at the weekend for exercise ( of course stickig to the social distancing rules of 2m)

  7. Being physically disabled, I have been trying not to leave the house. Unfortunately one of my cats got injured at the weekend. She liked to follow my husband/children when they walked the dogs and would often wander up the road to a paddock/footpath.

My daughter saw her when walking the dogs on Saturday and quickly realised there was a problem. Despite loads of calling, coaxing and searching we couldn’t find her. Went back Sunday morning and, after a couple of hours, someone we had spoken to at a distance spotted her and ran to tell us – she was literally no more than 100m from where we were searching so saw her running towards us. She then hid in a bush and we could not get her out. Eventually, someone gardening, patted on the the top of the hedge, gradually coming closer towards us. We were waiting at a gap she kept approaching and, as soon as she came out, I grabbed her (fortunately there was a wall for me to sit on).

For the first time, we had to contact the emergency vet service as, up until now our vet practice has operated an emergency system. I have been using the same vet for the past 30 years since I left home and so that immediately made me anxious.

The cat’s tail had been totally stripped raw – no fur and no skin. Due to coronavirus, when we got to the vet, we had to phone the vet to confirm our arrival and then wait for a vet to come out to collect the cat.

Whilst waiting, there was a young family in a car behind us. Because windows were open, we could hear them speak to the vet, ask about costs and then I heard the tears. Unfortunately, they had a 4 year old jack russell who had slipped a disc and they couldn’t afford an operation, so had no choice but to have him pts. I freaked out at this point as I thought they wouldn’t let anyone be with the dog and that horrified me. Fortunately, one person was allowed in. However, until they had the funds, nothing could be done. The man spoke to his dad and got him to transfer money into his account but it did take a little while – my daughter and I felt awful for them (I do have pet insurance for this very reason – couldn’t afford an expensive bill but would hate to have to put an animal to sleep if something could be done). We had some cash in our purse, so gave it to them – it wouldn’t cover the bill by any means but they obviously were in a state and money was a big issue.

Then it was time to collect my cat for a consultation. The vet took her and about 15 minutes later, my phone rang. I was fully expecting them to tell me her tail would have to be amputated, but then they told me my cat was in so much pain, there was too much damage that it would affect her ability to pee and poop and they would have to put her to sleep.

To say I was distraught is an understatement. I may have 8 cats, but spending so much time alone in the house (normally), I know all their individual foibles and love them all dearly and they all show me a great deal of love. I asked if there were other options, or if the cat could be sedated and given pain relief until I could see my vet,but that wasn’t an option, so I had to agree to let them put her to sleep. I was in such a state and couldn’t stop crying – I was with her at the end and, although we always have our cats cremated, I wouldn’t leave her with them but brought her home. On Tuesday, I took her to my usual vet for cremation.

Having been terrified about going out due to coronavirus, when my cat was in need, I didn’t give it a second thought. However, I will now be self-isolating again, whilst mourning my cat.

    1. Oh my gosh I am so so sorry 🙁 what a traumatic event for you. I wish I had some words of comfort I really do, but I still find it so hard without Sal and it is coming up to a year in the coming days. Some days are easier though I think.

  8. I think its especially important during this situation to write down our inner thoughts because sometimes our thoughts and feelings can make us feel even more isolated! It always helps to talk to people and to engage with friends and family to stay connected 🙂

  9. When I have a moan I quickly realise that there are so many people worse off than me. I have a garden, the weather has been good, I live in a quiet area so I don’t meet many people on my daily walk. My great grandson is 3 and can’t understand whey he can’t meet his friends or go to nursery and he gets upset when we FaceTime him . Stay safe and take care.

  10. I always enjoy your candid posts. Thank you.
Sitting on the patio in the sunshine lifts my spirits but trying to organise deliveries sends them crashing again. With computerised stock levels and ordering, why are so many companies selling us items they don’t actually have?

    1. It’s so hard isn’t it? I’m really struggling getting food delivered – we have to rely on takeout sometimes as it’s just all we can get.

  11. My anxiety has been manifesting in different ways. Just when I think I have it under control I realize I don’t. I have enjoyed connecting with friends virtually. That’s been so helpful.

    1. That’s so good – I am glad you are connecting still virtually. It is weird the things anxiety are doing.

  12. I have loved reading this blog and all the comments, seeing how others are coping. I have lots of projects that are keeping me busy. Hope everyone stays safe.

  13. I really like that badge 🙂 I’ve mentioned a badge on a similar theme on my post too. I’m so sorry to hear how fatigued you are at the moment – I hope that eases soon. Mind has been terrible last few weeks as my OA is v painful. take care love bec (becinmonton)

  14. We are all doing really well. I’m surprised how well we are all handling this honestly. The kids have been home for at least a month now, and we are surprisingly doing good keeping busy and doing homework.

  15. I am ok. I have a lot of things to do even we are in a lockdown. I hope that everything will be over soon!

  16. I am finding the same as you, with being home all the time because it is forced and not through choice. I have always been grateful to the blogging community but now more than ever it is such a lifeline #lifeinalockdown

    1. It is hard isn’t it 🙁 I don’t know why it being forced is harder? I am with you with the blogging community they are keeping me going.

  17. Great article it’s not been easy although I don’t really go out much anyway due to depression but it’s not being able to that makes it harder

    1. Yes, I think the not being able to makes it hard, no matter if you would normally go out or not.

  18. Though what is happening in our surroundings right now is really frightening, we can use this chance to spend more time with our family. Staying at home will definitely be safer for all of us.

    1. I’m glad it’s allowing you to spend more time with your family. As it’s just me and my other half here – we are seeing a lot less of ours.

  19. Because I am now working in a supermarket, I seem to be getting everyones shopping list. I had a wobble on my first day off in 19 days though, I like to keep busy

    1. Oh no! I have to admit getting an online order is just so hard right now. I’m sorry you had a wobble 🙁

  20. I want to join this. There are so many things I need to “unload” from my mind. This lock down has been really stressful but we are all trying our best to stay healthy and stay indoors as much as possible.

    1. I would love it if you joined in! I’m so sorry you are finding things hard – I’m hoping it will help us all feel a little less alone.

  21. Keep talking is the main thing you can do to help yourself and others. I am trying to speak to my family on a daily basis and check in with them.

    1. Definitely I think we need to talk be it via phone, messenger or facetime we need to keep in contact.

  22. For keeping myself occupied I usually end up watching tv or playing games. This routine has started to feel normal too

  23. I’m doing okay. Some days are better than others. It can be rather stressful with kids and trying to get them to complete their schoolwork.

  24. We aren’t in this alone at all – we are all together and it’s great to see so much community spirit when we are on a daily walk. So many pictures in windows and the lovely hamper of books we happened across, that we stocked up today. Odd to say I feel like I’m almost getting used to this way of life at the moment – still don’t know what day it is, so I’m glad you remembered and reminded me! 😉 Hope you are ok chick, keep smiling! Sim x

    1. Thank you – your comment definitely made me smile. It is amazing the amount of community spirit that is coming across at the moment!

  25. It’s interesting to see how everyone is coping. Meanwhile, I’m still working on getting as many blog posts as I can written and scheduled so I can take it easy for the rest of the year

  26. Such a strange time, I am going stir crazy with an almost one year old, do enjoy reading isolation vlogs and blogs though!

    1. I can’t imagine what it is like at home with such a youngest I hope it is all going OK for you.

  27. I’m feeling pretty good. I have worked from home for 6 years and while it wasn’t THIS isolated it’s not vastly different. I am enjoying having my husband home with me. That’s been fun!

    1. It’s awesome that you are finding it works for you – I do think working from home has helped. I just have this inner rebel that wants to go and do everything I’m told not to.

  28. It is such a weird and interesting time right now. My husband has been doing the shopping once a week. He still has to go into work so we figure since he is already “exposed” he should be the one to shop.

  29. It was lovely to see all those who linked up with us last week, I hope to see more this week. Sending you love xx

  30. It really seems so strange doesn’t it – I think that as the lockdown goes on something will get easier and some more difficult. I love that badge!!

  31. Here in Spain we clap for sanitary system every evening. It’s nice to see the entire neighborhood coming out on their balconies and clap for a couple of minutes. The children are singing and the people are waving at each other. It’s the nicest moment of the day.

  32. Like the idea of these stickers, going into the local supermarkets, some people are forgetting to distance themselves

  33. I think this is such a wonderful idea. It is such an odd time but I do think it is important to document how we feel and how those feelings change over time.

This is history in the making after all.

I hope the next week is kind to you x x

    1. Thank you so much – I think it will be really interesting to look back on in years to come.

  34. I’ve been shopping at the smaller shops when I need a few bits. They are so much quieter. Nothing from small businesses online as I don’t buy much often as I’m trying to save money at the moment with everything going on. Hoping to earn enough to keep us all going for now.

    1. It is nice to be able to sort local isn’t it? I keep trying to buy things from small local people.

  35. My advice to everyone would be to stay home. That being said, I recommend keeping a shopping list and only go out weekly (or less frequently) for essentials. I am generally on the go with family and work in and out of the home so my routine has definitely been relaxed a bit. When this finally ends I am looking forward to seeing my parents and my manicurist.

    1. It’s nice to be able to have something to look forward to isn’t it? I think that in part goes to help us keep going.
