How To Choose A Summer Wreath For Any Occasion
AD
Wreaths are a classic choice when it comes to choosing decorations for a celebration. As you’ll likely have noticed, however, there is a wide range of different wreaths to choose between. Choosing the right one can take a bit of effort and creative interpretation – here’s how you can go about finding the perfect wreath for any occasion.
Think about the event
When choosing a summer wreath, the first thing to do is think about the event you’re celebrating. Is it a summer birthday that merits something bright and loud, or are you celebrating the life of a loved one? Stores such as https://wreaths.co.uk/ will have a wide range of different options, some of which will obviously be more suitable than others.

Matching the colour palette
If you’re thinking about getting a wreath, the chances are that you’ve put a fair bit of thought into other decorative elements. As a result, you’ll want to make sure that the wreath that you choose matches not only the mood of the event but also the rest of the space that it will be placed in. Think about the overall colour scheme you’ve got going on, and then check that the palette doesn’t clash with anything.
Be careful with your flowers
Fresh wreaths are typically made from flowers and vines, and it’s important to think about the flowers that you use. Different flowers often have certain symbolic relationships with different events – for example, lilies are often associated with death, specifically with the soul leaving the body. While you obviously don’t have to stick with traditional symbolism, it’s worth keeping in mind!

The size of the wreath
Another important thing to remember when choosing a wreath, no matter the occasion, is the size. If you’re buying the wreath as a housewarming present, or to put on the back of a fancy old car after a wedding, you’ll probably want it to be a lot bigger than if you’re buying it as a candle decoration (be careful!) for Christmas. Again, think about the space that it’s going to be placed in, and how it will fit in with the overall scale of the rest of the environment.
Durability
Finally, you really need to think about how durable the wreath will be. If you’re going to leave it out in the elements, and you want it to last for quite some time, then it’s important that it’s able to withstand harsh temperatures and moisture.
If, however, you’re going to keep it inside, or if it only needs to last for a day or two, then durability won’t matter quite as much – in that case, feel free to go with something as delicate as you like.
While these are all important things to consider, ultimately, it’s important that you go with what feels right. As long as you’re happy with how it looks, and it’s able to last for as long as you’ll need it, we’re sure your wreath of choice will do just fine.

I love the flowery wreaths though I’ve not made one yet. I,m thinking of doing one for my daughters Yoga studio , something nice and peaceful. Thanks for the tips
That would be a really nice addition to a yoga studio I think.
I get a Christmas wreath for the front door, but haven’t tried other seasonal ones yet. My next door neighbour has a gorgeous autumnal one!
I’ve seen some beautiful autumn ones – I really want to get back to having outs out.
I know that people don’t necessarily associate wreaths with home decor, but I think they are lovely all year round. I stumbled on some lovely dried flower wreaths online recently while I was searching for dried Gypsophilia. Very tempted to buy one to hang in the bedroom.
There are some really lovely ones out there now aren’t there? I’ve definitely seem a lot I would love.
I love to see a seasonal wreath on a door all year round. I have never done this but I am definitely going to in the future.
Good luck if you do – I used to love having a wreath on the door but we had new ones in and I haven’t got a hanger on it now.
@Sarah-Louise Bailey, the problem is the door hits the prevailing wind so I can see it could be in trouble.
Oh no, that could definitely be an issue! Espechially with the wind as it is now!
I know very little about flowers but I am fascinated about their symbolism. When I am feeling romantic, I do like to research the meaning of each flower to make sure it portrays how I am feeling. But I have honestly never bought or been given a wreath before. They are gorgeous though and so beautifully designed
There are some really stunning ones out there to be found, I like some of the artifical ones as well as they really last!
I live a wreath on my porch door, I’ve still got my Christmas wreath on the door! I love the ideas for a Summer wreath
Definitely nice to have something for each season isn’t it?
