5 Things To Do When Your Life Is Falling Apart
No matter how together we think our lives are, there will always be obstacles that stand in the way of our happiness. Throughout our lifetimes we will have to face many hardships in order to be truly happy, and sometimes our life will feel like it has completely fallen apart.
If you do fall into a rut where your life seems as if it is going everywhere but where you need it to go, here are some ways to help yourself get past it.
Have a clear out
Clearing out your home might not seem like a great solution to your problems, and we aren’t simply suggesting that you pile everything up and place in a Safestore container out of your life. Decluttering can offer us a chance to feel as if we are doing something useful and it will help to clear our mind.
If you feel at a loss this weekend, start running through your home and go through your things. The act of getting rid of clutter can do wonders for your soul and will give you a clear, clean space to work with at home.
You can begin to take back control and declutter the rest of your life.
Take a trip
Sometimes the only solution for our problems is to step away from them for a while and get away to greener pastures. Of course, running away from our problems isn’t the best solution in life, but it can make a big difference to our mental state.
If you are feeling as if everything is suffocating you at home, get on a plane and go somewhere new, alone. Enjoy walking the streets, smelling the food and experiencing the culture of a new place.
You can start to gain a little perspective on your life, and you may even be able to make a decision on how to make it better. Time away to think is crucial for a healthy attitude.
Have a cuppa
The UK seems to have an obsession with tea, and it is not until you sit down after a hard day and take that first sip that you will understand its value. Tea has been drunk for thousands of years, and there are many different varieties which can give you different health benefits.
If you have a day where you don’t want to leave the house, out on the kettle, pour yourself a good cup of tea with sugar and milk, and sit down for a while. You will be surprised how calming it can be for your body and your mind.
You will feel calm, clear-headed and ready to solve your problems once and for all.
Choose the right friends
Good friends are worth the world, and if you are lucky enough to have a group of close friends you can do anything in your life. Friends offer us support, dry our tears and can simply be a shoulder to lean on when we need it the most.
If you find yourself in a dire situation in your life, invite your friends over and have a night in with a takeaway and some games. The company will take your mind off the problem, but you can also ask for advice on what to do.
Set goals
You might not be feeling in the goal setting mood right now, but the act of sitting down and writing what you want to achieve can help you see the positive side of life and be ready to start fresh. Write a list, set yourself some goals of things you want to achieve and stick to it.

Having great friends definitely helps and so is stepping away from it all to reflect or just take a breather. Sometimes the way out may not be clear and you have to just ride it out.
These are good tips for dealing with life’s challenges, especially the ones you feel like you won’t be able to overcome. I think goal setting could really help.
I don’t think I ever would have made it without my friends and a their support. This is why it’s important to pick your friends.
These are very good pointers for people who are experiencing this. It’s not easy and it’s something that you really have to face otherwise the feeling won’t end. I think a clear out is really important.
One thing that helps me feel better is to clean things out! Cleaning is really cathartic and getting rid of stuff helps me feel like I’m starting over.
This is great advice. I also need to make sure my goals are obtainable. I’ve often set goals too high, failed then lost all motivation because I figured I just wasn’t good enough. I’ve learned that people fail and try again all the time and come back better and stronger as long as they keep making steps toward their goal.
Problem solving with a great friend is very valuable in these situations for sure. A cup of great tea does wonders doesn’t it?
I’m sure we all can feel like it’s falling apart sometimes. I like the clearing out idea. It can be so therapeutic.
I really enjoyed reading this post. You shared some really great tips. I love the idea of taking a trip just to getaway.
For me my friends make the whole world better. I do mot know where I would be without them anymore.
I have had things fall apart a couple of times throughout my life. While travel is not an option as I have children and work, getting into the car and taking a drive helps immeasurably.
These are great tips. I always try to step away at least for a moment when things are starting to fall apart.
I take a break, sit down and try to look at things calmly. Time to pull up my big girl pants and make a plan on how to change and make something happen.
I have a lot of clutter so I could benefit from throwing out some things every once in a while. A good vacation is another thing I am in need of at this time.
I think we all have times like this, sadly. These are all great tips and I will definitely try a few when things seem to be falling apart.
It’s amazing what a good cup of tea and a close friend to share it with can do for your mood. I like getting away too when I feel overwhelmed.
Goals always help me as well. Or a trip to Disney World 😉 Talking things out is important as well. It can help clear your mind.
When I seem to be getting in a rut, taking a trip is the best way for me to break out. Also, taking a few minutes daily for a little me time helps tremendously.
Associating yourself with the right friends helps a lot. I am into tea these days so yes for the cuppa.
