Chrysalis Jewellery with a Difference: Review
If you have been around my blog a while, you will probably know I have a bit of a love for jewellery and I was thrilled when Chrysalis, a British jewellery company, got in touch. The idea behind Chrysalis is to make jewellery, that means something special to the wearer, with each piece in their collection having a specific meaning which is detailed on the product page.
All the jewellery is made to be worn together as well. With the bangles, for instance, being perfect for layering.
Guardian Angel Expandable Ring – £15
I have always had a huge love for rings and I’m normally not a fan of adjustable rings, I find them uncomfortable as they dig in under your finger. However, this is a completely different type of adjustable, from the old style pull to make a gap. The ring goes all the way round and then doubles over itself to offer the ability to make it larger. Making the beautiful Guardian Angel Expandable Ring as comfortable to wear as a normal sized ring.
This particular ring comes in a 14kt rose gold flash plate or rhodium flash plate, each of which has a beautiful angel wing charm hanging from it. The guardian angel range is of course linked to the idea of having your own angel watching over and supporting you.
Guardian Angel Earrings – £19
Another item from the angel range are these Guardian Angel Earrings, once again I went for the rose gold and they, of course, use the same charm as the earrings making for the perfect matching items. The idea behind wearing items for the guardian angel range is to remind yourself your angel is always with you.
If you like this range, you can also finish it off with a matching bangle and necklace, both of which include the angel wing charm, alongside a little cherub.
Karma Expandable Bangle – £25
The Karma Expandable Bangle, features the endless knot, to represent the spiritual principle of you reap what you sow. This bangle is available in a 14kt gold flash plate or silver (rhodium) flash plate and is of course adjustable.
To wear the bangle all you need to do is gently pull apart the bracelet, which will then widen around the crossed section and then you just gently push it back together to adjust it to the size of your wrist. I’ve found it an easy bracelet to put on and comfortable to wear, it makes for a great base for stacking your bracelets.
Protection Botswana Agli Expandable Bangle – £35
Next in the bracelet line up is the Protection Botswana Agli Expandable Bangle, this particular bracelet features the protective eye, which is believed to ward off bad feeling and evil, keeping the wearer free from harm. This protective bangle comes in a 14kt rose gold flash plating with semi-precious stones.
While this is listed as an expandable bangle, I have to admit I’m not sure how it expands. To wear you need to connect the hook to the loop end and be careful while you do as the charms do come off and I’ve dropped them on the floor a few times. However, once on it does seem to stay on well, so there isn’t too much worry about it accidentally coming off.
While this perhaps the most fiddly to get on, it is perhaps my favourites from the trio, as I love the addition of the semi-precious stones.
Originality Turquoise Resin Wrap Bangle – £25
Last but by no means least is the Originality Turquoise Resin Wrap Bangle, the idea behind this bangle is to be the flamingo in a flock of pigeons, to always show your unique and original side. This particular bangle comes in a 14kt gold flash plate and features a turquoise resin.
The style of bangle here is a wrap, so it is so easy to slip onto your wrist and it automatically returns to its wrapped state allowing it to sit comfortably on the wrist.
Overall I was really impressed with all the pieces I received from Chrysalis, they are obviously well made and I love that each piece has meaning behind it. I can definitely see myself adding to my Chrysalis collection in the months to come, especially with the bangles as they stack together so well, offering different looks each day.

They do most of them in silver as well, I have to admit I’m normally a silver person but for some reason I really liked these in gold / rose gold.

The jewelry looks great. I like some of the displayed bracelets. I do know completely what your saying about the adjustable rings and have never seen one the way you stated these were; so that’s a definite plus.
It is really so much more comfortable I’d definitely pick up a ring that used this system again.

Those pieces all look lovely. I have only tried an expandable ring once, I didn’t much care for the “charm” hanging and moving around.
I can understand them not being for everyone, I didn’t think I would get on with it but this one isn’t too bad or least *touch wood* it hasn’t been so far.
Bracelets are my go to throw on accessory. Love the layering and the charms look to be from celtic and older which is something I really love and enjoy wearing.
