  1. My cousin’s son has just been told he has to wear glasses at 5 years old, he was upset until we pointed out that most of the family wear them, and there are loads of celebrities who wear them too, now he sees them as cool!

  2. I wear glasses all the time and sometimes they can be a bit of a nuisance as I seem to get them dirty easily. However I would never want to try contact lenses. I know some people get along with them all right. I prefer to try and find frames that are fashionable and suit my face.

  3. I see so many people wearing glasses, some people I know wear them and don’t need them, yet will make their eyes bad and need to wear them.
    I wear them around the home, reading, watching tv etc and hate them, they look terrible on me, uncomfortable and would rather not need them.

  4. I used to hate my NHS glasses as a child! Now I do like wearing glasses & wish I could have 100s of pairs to match up with my clothes!

  5. i am old enough to remember the days of the horrible nhs glasses for kids.i think its wonderful now that its so easy to be hip and fashionable if you wear glasses,especially for kids who have enough to worry about nowadays without being ridiculed for something they cant help

  7. My daughter has always wanted to wear glasses even though she doesnt need them, She sees glasses as a fashion accessory where I have been wearing them for nearly 40 years and see them as a part of me but I do like branded glasses as they have to last a long time x

  8. I think price has a lot to do with it as well. I have a couple of prescription reading glasses but also have a couple of fun coloured pairs that I got from pharmacies & even Aldi and at €2.99 it doesn’t matter if they get lost or scratched.
