Aquamarine Branch Ring: Review
Not long ago I was approached by the lovely people over at UncommonGoods and asked if I would like to try something from their range and with my addiction to jewellery and within that, the gravitational pull toward rings, it took only minutes to know it had to be this Aquamarine Branch Ring which has been created by Nancy Nelson.
What drew me to this ring as well as the look was the back story, the main band of this ring is cast in sterling silver from a hand crafted mould that was made from a green twig found in the ancient woods of West Virginia USA. Between the two ends of the twig sits a rough-hewn nugget of aquamarine, a gemstone which is said to promote good luck and happiness and in days past was used by sailors as a talisman for safe travel.
I have to say my photos failed to capture the beauty of this ring, the band is so dainty, it really captures the shoots and blemishes the original twig must have had. It’s odd to think, this was one a part of a living tree, that has been saved for us all to enjoy.
The rough-hewn aquamarine looks perfect next to the twig band, it is all so natural and almost magical in the way it works together.
This beautiful ring comes in at $70, can of course be brought from UncommonGoods who fantastically post around the globe. In fact if you click here to visit the website, you will find that if your viewing from the UK it will even change the price to pounds, making it even easier to know what you are spending.
Personally I will definitely be shopping UncommonGoods myself in the future as they offer so much both when it comes to jewellery and when it comes to the way they run the company. They not only support a number of wonderful charities, but offer opportunities such as the design challenges where budding artisans can submit ideas, with the chance to join their community of designers. If like me, you aren’t so good with your hands then you can get stuck in by voting for the next items to make it to the virtual shelves for UncommonGoods.
What do you think of my ring, is it something you would choose for yourself?

That is a very unique looking ring and would be a conversational piece for sure. It is very pretty and I would love that for myself.
It’s really pretty! The shape reminds me of my engagement ring.
That ring is absolutely gorgeous! Uncommon Goods has the best, most unique gifts.
I seriously love this ring! It’s so unique looking, no one will have one like it.
Love this – I work with crystals ( gemstones) and love the properties of aquamarine. Kaz x
This is such a unique piece and it’s really cool how they used a mold from a real green twig. The aquamarine is really pretty.
What a unique piece of jewellery! I love aquamarine 🙂 So pretty on your hand.
I really like the uniqueness of it with regards to the stone and the shape x
I look the nature look of the ring. It has quite a raw feel to it. It’s certainly a ring to wear on its own so it stands out.
That is very unique! I kind of like it!
Aww wow never seen a ring like this before looks so nice will have to take a look over at the site.
This ring is gorgeous and aquamarine is my birthstone so I definitely am going to check it out! Great review! XO -Kim
What a pretty ring. I love the color and you can’t beat the price.
That’s a gorgeous ring and I love the back story however slightly out of my price range. Although what a wonderful idea for a Christmas gift or something to cherish off a partner
Your ring is lovely and unusual. I’d probably not choose it for myself, but if I was given it as a gift, I’d be thrilled with it!
That ring is absolutely gorgeous. I love the unique shape of the band.
Thats a very cute ring Sarah, I am looking for new ring for myself so I will head over and have a look.
It’s an unusual ring and I like that it is so natural. It does feel less contrived than a lot of jewellery.
I feel like I’m missing something here. All the comments are saying “what a gorgeous ring” but I’m afraid I’m really not keen on it. Maybe it’s like you say and the photos don’t do it justice but it’s not my thing. Then again, if everyone liked the same thing then life would be very boring. Still a great review.
I love the ring, rings are my main downfall closely followed by bracelets and bangles
This is really a one of a kind ring. I like it! Looks great on you.
Oh my goodness, that’s such a beautiful ring. I love how unique it is. Off to check out the website 🙂 x
I do like the ring but $70 seems a little pricey for something that’ll probably slip off my finger!! Great design though, haven’t seen a ring like that before 🙂
Beautiful ring and I love that it was hand crafted from a green twig found in the ancient woods of West Virginia USA. It makes it extra special. Thanks for introducing us to these Sarah x
That ring is gorgeous 🙂
