2015 Poppy Sparkle Brooch Review

This Sunday is, of course, Remembrance Day. A day when many of come together to remember those that have been lost to war.

For many of us, the day is synonymous with the Poppy, a symbol that was chosen by the British Legion to be the image of remembrance and was inspired by John McCrae’s poem In Flanders Fields.

The Poppies were resilient little flowers, delicate but also strong enough to pop up quickly up in the war-damaged fields. So each year many of us choose to get our Poppies from the British Legion sellers.

Who kindly grace our streets each year, with many of them being war veterans themselves. We do this to not only show our support but to also donate to a worthy cause.

2015 Poppy Sparkle Brooch

This year I was contacted by Buckley London. Who are the official designer of The Royal British Legion Poppy Collection, which sees a new style added each year.

The 2015 design is this beautiful sparkle broach. Each one has been handcrafted and is made from a gold-toned material that has been set with over 100 ruby crystals, while the leaf features olivine crystals.

The back is then engraved with the message “Lest We Forget”.

The Sparkle Broach is available in two sizes; small (£15) and large (£25). With all the net profits (at least £5) being donated to the Royal British Legion.

Personally I think the Sparkle Poppy is absolutely beautiful and I will definitely be looking out to see what they add to the collection in coming years.

After all, I think this is a brooch that not only helps support a great cause but also allows you to wear it throughout the year.
