Aquamarine Branch Ring: Review
Not long ago I was approached by the lovely people over at UncommonGoods and asked if I would like to try something from their range and with my addiction to jewellery and within that, the gravitational pull toward rings, it took only minutes to know it had to be this Aquamarine Branch Ring which has been created by Nancy Nelson.
What drew me to this ring as well as the look was the back story, the main band of this ring is cast in sterling silver from a hand crafted mould that was made from a green twig found in the ancient woods of West Virginia USA. Between the two ends of the twig sits a rough-hewn nugget of aquamarine, a gemstone which is said to promote good luck and happiness and in days past was used by sailors as a talisman for safe travel.
I have to say my photos failed to capture the beauty of this ring, the band is so dainty, it really captures the shoots and blemishes the original twig must have had. It’s odd to think, this was one a part of a living tree, that has been saved for us all to enjoy.
The rough-hewn aquamarine looks perfect next to the twig band, it is all so natural and almost magical in the way it works together.

It is very pretty and most definitely unique, more so because it has a story to go with it which makes it even more special.
What a stunning ring, and I love that it has a backstory, I think that always makes a piece of jewellery so much more than just something pretty looking. I have had a quick look on their website and am definitely going to pop one of the rings on my Christmas wish list!
Oh I love that it has a story, I think that makes it beautiful in sentiment as well as aesthetically. It is very unusual, but that’s what I go for when choosing jewellery and I love the natural shape – a great way to show of the gemstone too!

When I had a first look it was a bit different, but when I see it in your fingers it looks absolutely beautiful. I love that it is hand crafted, but the price seems to be a bit on the higher end.

It’s an unusual ring and I like that it is so natural. It does feel less contrived than a lot of jewellery.
I feel like I’m missing something here. All the comments are saying “what a gorgeous ring” but I’m afraid I’m really not keen on it. Maybe it’s like you say and the photos don’t do it justice but it’s not my thing. Then again, if everyone liked the same thing then life would be very boring. Still a great review.
