7 Ideas for Small Bathrooms

Mirror Mirror on the Wall

It’s well known that mirrored surfaces are great at enhancing a space and making a room feel bigger than it actually is. They do this by bouncing light around the room. For a bathroom, as well as hanging a large mirror, mirrored tiles are a great option. Alternatively, why not make a real design impact and go for a mirrored bath or a porcelain bathtub? Nowadays, you can even find mirrored radiators that don’t like radiators at all. Any one of these will not only help to give the illusion of space but will also create the looks of a spa or hotel bathroom.   

Go Bold with Flooring

Patterned tiled floors are a beautiful and practical choice in the bathroom and if you keep the rest of the space simple, they will also help the room appear larger in size. Our advice would be to keep your walls neutral and make your floor a statement. Go for larger format tiles which have fewer grout lines for a clean, spacious feel.

Add a Metallic Shine

With its warm tones, brass is a texture which makes an entire space feel much larger than it actually is. In a small bathroom, it can be incorporated into everything from fixtures and fittings to features and accessories, which will also add a touch of elegance and luxury to the room. Keep it consistent by choosing brass for the lighting and shower, giving an on-trend, designer look.

Enhance the Corners

If your bathroom is an odd shape or has awkward nooks and crannies, make the most of them by adding small storage features for toiletries and accessories. Use statement ornaments to add character to the room or bold artwork to draw the eye and introduce a pop of colour.

Opt for a Corner Shower

In many small bathrooms, installing a bath simply isn’t possible but making the most of the space with a practical corner shower is a great alternative. Corner showers can be installed in even the tightest of spaces, taking up very little room. Choose a frameless glass screen which will make the room appear more open.

Choose a Slimline Sink

Trough sinks are a slimline option and stylish solution when space is limited, making them the perfect choice for small bathrooms. Just like a floating vanity unit, many trough sinks will also provide a good deal of handy storage space underneath. These narrow designs come in many different styles, so you can find just the one to suit your own interior style.
