Tropic Skin Care SUPER GREENS: Review
January so far has been a pretty bad month for me, all I want to do is curl up and sleep and my brain is in a constant state of confusion. Quite unsure what it is meant to do; so please do forgive me any mistakes I have been making of late.
Back in December, I was given a number of different skincare products to try and I thought now was a good time to catch up on my thoughts about them.
First up was perhaps the most intriguing product: Tropic Super Greens.
This product is basically a superfood shot for your skin, boasting the ability to boost your skins natural defences and nutrient levels.
What ingredients make Tropic Skin Care SUPER GREENS super?
This nutrient boosting serum is made from a whole host of green superfoods including; chlorophyll, kale and maca root extracts which are said to help with delivering essential vitamins and minerals to the deeper levels of your skin, as well as improving skin health.
All Tropic skin care products are cruelty free. They’re never tested on animals and don’t use any derivatives that cause them distress.
These are joined by African marula and kendi oils, to help calm redness and skin irritation, while tamanu oils help with skin repair and blemishes and if that wasn’t enough it is all topped off with green coffee extract, which helps brighten your complexion and energise the skin.
What type of skin is Tropic Skin Care SUPER GREENS best for?
Many products are aimed specifically towards a target skin group and while Tropic Skin Care SUPER GREENS is wonderful for all, it is specifically said to work well for skin that is red, irritated, blemished, sensitive and tired looking.
It is also good for those whose skin is subjected to polluted environments regularly.
What did I really think about Tropic Skin Care SUPER GREENS?
As ever I am going to be completely honest and start with the bad.
Be ready for the smell; you know the smell of greens?
This comes complete with it; to give you an idea my Mum loves trying any products she comes across, that I might be using, when she pops over and as she was rubbing some on the back of her hand, my Dad made a comment to her about not using that before bed as it stinks! Whoops!
Now I won’t lie it doesn’t dissipate as soon as you apply it to your skin, it does linger for a while on your skin (say 10-15 minutes at most) so you aren’t going to want to get too up close and personal straight after applying. However, as long as you don’t mind a few minutes of greens in the air this is well worth using.
Application is simple, I found as they suggest just a couple of drops is enough for my skin.
The Tropic serum glides onto the skin and, for me, left it feeling almost instantly soothed from an irritation as well as more hydrated.
I personally feel as if there was a slight layer left on my skin; however I can’t quite find the words to describe it, as it is neither sticky or greasy and it isn’t unpleasant, it just leaves the skin smoothed.
As I said at the beginning January is a bad month for me, it always is and always has been.
I get extremely run down, my energy is non-existent and as such, I sleep a lot more and this has a knock on effect on my skin.
More often than not it is riddled in spots and extremely dull, dry and irritated.
However, compared to a normal winter my skin is more healthy looking, it isn’t so riddled with spots and most certainly isn’t as dry and irritated as it has been in previous years and believe me any little help is a big thing to me, as it means just one less thing to worry about.
Overall I was really impressed by this product, not only is completely natural, it is also suitable for vegans and is leaping bunny approved.
It is definitely worth noting that Tropic Skin Care are big on honest labelling making sure ingredients in plain English and best before date are clear.

This sounds like it will work really well if you can get over the smell. I am really sensitive to smell – so I would have to try it on like my hand first lol. Hope your month is going better.

This is such an interesting skin care product, I’ve not ever seen one before that contains green superfoods. Now, we know how good they are for us to consume so logic says they should be good for our skin as well I guess. I’m really intrigued by your review, it seems like it is working for you and my dull skin is crying out for help! This sounds really interesting!! I’m definitely intreuged although slightly worried about the smell you mentioned haha!! I really want to try this so hoping I’ll stomach the smell!
Honestly it isn’t too bad, it’s an earthy, natural scent and as they company said to me, if they started adding essential oils to make it smell better, they would have to change the formula, which would change how it works. Sometimes it is better to go with a product that perhaps doesn’t smell amazing but works wonders, than one that smells amazing but doesn’t do anything. x
I hope this also works for hypersensitive skin. I’m constantly looking for an everyday skin product that will not irritate my skin. Cross my fingers.
My skin is quite sensitive and I’ve had no issues, if you decide to go for it then do test patch though just to be safe. x

I’ve used it for probably 6 weeks now, I’ve noticed my skin changing and looking better, it started to feel better quite quickly, though it probably wasn’t noticeable until a few weeks of using, but it didn’t feel as dry and irritated sooner than that. x
It sounds like the perfect product for treating dry skin. It’s nice to have this at home especially when the weather is harsh on our skin like winter or summer!

They did actually say about this after reading my review, to change the scent, they would need to add other things to it, such as essential oils, which would mean they would have to change the formula. As this works so well as it is I think they have done the right thing by having it as it is. x
