PawPost: A Sally Review

I get so excited about doing Sally reviews as she just loves new things and to see her getting excited about having ‘pawpost’ and getting lots of attention as she goes through it all (not that she doesn’t command attention most of the time) is such a joy to see – I still remember the days vividly of her being curled in the chair like a poor lost dog who couldn’t see boo to a goose.

This time she got to review PawPost a new subscription box for cats or dogs – they offer 4 different boxes on for the cats a choice of box for small, medium or large dogs. PawPost kindly sent us a box for medium dogs for Sally to try.

PawPost is a monthly subscription box that includes between 5-7 different items each month, with costs starting at £17.95 per month when you sign up for a years’ worth or £22.95 if you want to pay months.

One thing that stands out about PawPost is they donate a percentage of their profits to Pup Aid which helps raise awareness about puppy and kitten farming.

So what did Sally’s PawPost contain?

Soopa Coconut Chew Treats
Sally’s on a prescription diet, but to be honest with you when treats are quite natural like these, we often given her one as a very special treat. Plus these actually have many benefits to them, including, the fact they are rich in Vitamin E & Anti Oxidants which can help with the immune system, as well as containing properties that help maintain a healthy coat.

As you can see above Sally dived straight into this bag of chews, she’s a dog that knows what she wants – and a taste of these treats was just what she wanted. Pooch and Mutt Brain & Train Dog Treats
These are perfect for use when you are training your dog, or keeping a few in your pocket as you walk to help keep them calm at the side of a road, or when they suddenly want to jump off and bounce around.

These treats in particular are gluten-free and contain ingredients to help stimulate the brain and get them ready to learn, each 125g box contains around 150 bone shaped treats and costs £2.23.

Treat Bag
With all these new treats a bag is just a perfect accompaniment – I’ve popped Sally’s away safely for when we got to Center Parcs later in the year as I think it will be perfect for carrying a few of her favourites in when we go.

Antler Chews
I think I have spoken somewhat about these in the past as Sally got given one to try the beginning of last year and they quickly became one of her favourite things, she would often carry them around the house with her to site and chew on. The antler was actually the first thing she got herself out of the box (and ran off with before I could even take the label off).

We’ve found antlers have been a great help to Sally’s teeth and of course the fact they are completely natural is wonderful – all the antlers I have come across are made from naturally shed / dropped antlers so no animals are harmed in the making of them just good old recycling in action. The RRP of antlers depends on the size you need – obviously the larger the antler the more it will cost.

Scruffy Chops – Muddy Marvellous
Stinky pooches often need a good clean, I personally hadn’t heard of Scruffy Chops before, but I am excited to give it a try – this one in particular uses Dead Sea mud to help condition and as personally, I am always very pleased with many of the Dead Sea products I have tried, I am looking forward to giving it a try on Sal and hopefully seeing her coat shine. This conditioner for dogs has an RRP of £6.99.

Kong Zoom Groom Multi-Use Dog Brush
Kong is a brand myself and Sal are very familiar with as she has many of their toys, personally I had always over looked their brush as it wouldn’t work on Sals fur for normal grooming, but having finally got my hands on one, I got to delve a little deeper into what they can be used for. One very cleaver suggestion is they are used to massage shampoo into a dog while having a bath – and I think this could work perfectly for Sal and in fact I am really looking forward to giving it a try with her Scruffy Chops – Muddy Marvellous! Happy Pet Pull My Leg Dog Toy
This is one of the funniest toys I have seen, the arms and legs pull through the body being stopped by the hands and feet, which gave Sal a bit of a shock when the body pinged off to the other end as she shock it, very funny for us to watch though I have to admit, but I can see it offering endless occasions of joy for Sally. The Pull My Leg dog toy retails at £5.59.

Myself and Sal both think this is a fantastic box – not only is everything in it, something either myself or Sally will use, but the RRP of the items vs even the highest price subscription offers a substantial saving. One of the bits I especially like is when buying you are also helping dogs and cats in need!
