Argan Oil is one of those products that has taken the beauty world by storm in the past few years, it can be used for your face, body and hair and can be brought from many different sources, however today I have a review of a very special Argan Oil brand: Zeen.
What makes Zeen different?
Zeen is a 100% natural and organic and it is hand made by Berber women in Morocco who use a method that dates back centuries. The woman are all employed as part of a cooperative that makes sure they are paid a fair and decent wage that allows them, probably for the first time ever, to be completely self-sufficient and support their families, helping pave a better future for them all.
They cooperative also help preserve the Argan UNESCO protected trees, so they will hopefully be around for many years to come.
If you have ever wondered how the oil is made (with this technique it takes over 19 hours to extract the oil from the bean) then this video might just be up your street – I personally found it very interesting:
So what is Zeen like to use?
Zeen contains a whole host of goodness inside including; vitamin E, essential fatty acids and Omega 3, 6 & 9. The makeup of the oil means it is quickly absorbed in to the skin, meaning your body is able to make the most of it and you might just find your skin is left feeling extra moisturised, with increased elasticity and firmness. While it is protected against premature again and against things like sun damage and pollution which can often damage the skin.
Personally I think this has to be one of the nicest Argan Oils I have ever tried, I found it really did absorb quickly and worked wonders on the dry patch on my face – which seems to keep reappearing no matter what I have tried previous, so *touch wood* this is the end of it. I also found it didn't seem to break me out or add to the fact my face is oily, which is often a side effect when I try a new product.
When it comes to use on the body I found it left my skin feeling really pampered and hydrated and a little really does go a very long way, so don't be worried about a bottle not last you for long.
One of my personal favourite uses for Argan Oil is on hair, either as a pre wash on root to tip (best applied the night before and then washed off first thing) or after wash, with just a little added to the tips. Both have their advantages and really seem to leave my hair looking healthy and shiny.
Zeen Argan Oil is available in 50ml bottles for £40 or 100ml for £60 and can be brought from the Zeen website.
What do you think of the sound of Zeen, could you see yourself using it?
