Yardley London: Review
I’ve reviewed Yardley London before and always been really impressed with just how nice it is, the main drawback of the brand is the stigma that surrounds it, that it is a brand associated with the older generations. Hopefully though, with the release of this new collection that idea will start to be wiped away, as it brings with it not just some new fresh fragrances, but also some wonderfully modern packaging as well.
The new Floral Collection contains three different scents; Energising Peony, Invigorating Blue Orchid and Uplifting Daisy with each fragrance having its own body wash, body lotion and hand cream.
Energising Peony
This new fragrance offers a modern, fruit floral experience with top notes of fresh green leaves perfectly complemented by a heart of peony flower, geranium, red currant and heliotrope, finished off with a warm undertone of amber.
I received the body lotion of energising peony, which contains the added extras of Q10 to strengthen the skin, shea butter and glycerine to hydrate the skin and grape seed oil, sweet almond oil both of which are rich in Vitamin E and omega 6 to help combat the signs of ageing.
I have totally fallen head over heels for this particular body lotion not only does it offer a soft sweet fragrance but the cream itself is a rich, thick and luxurious, instantly melting into the skin without leaving any greasy or waxy residue, however it is silicone based moisturiser which may be worth noting for some. When it comes to price it has a RRP of just £3.99 for 250ml.
Invigorating Blue Orchid
Next up we have the exotic scent of blue orchid this wonderful fragrance takes the top notices of the fruits, mango, redcurrants and oranges then mixes them with middle notes of water lily, vanilla orchid and blue berry before finishing it off with a base of cedarwood, tonka bean and mahogany.
I was lucky enough to try and hand cream from the beautiful blues containing much the same ingredients as the body lotion it adds in cocoa butter to condition, protect and hydrate and hydrolised keratin to condition and strengthen the nails.
I have a bit of a love / hate relationship with hand creams they either work or they don’t – thankfully this one was a great everyday moisturiser for me to keep around, I found it hydrated the skin quickly and left it feeling as though it was protected against the onslaught of getting the daily jobs done. It perhaps isn’t quite hydrating enough to use as an overnight solution – but for the price, scent and quick absorption it’s definitely a good addition to the arsenal. The RRP for the hand creams in this collection are £2.99 for 75ml.
Uplifting Daisy
The fresh fragrance of the trio, this little beauty offers a floral fragrance with top notes of fresh green leaves and apple a middle of white rose and hyacinth while the base contains musk and sandalwood.
Lastly I got to try the body wash, which containing Vitamin E to help hydrate and moisturise the skin from the start of your daily routine.
This to me has the softest of all the fragrances – the wash itself is clear, but quickly turns into a nice thick lather that offers a wonderful cleansing experience and allows you to feel completely pampered in the bath or the shower. This bottle of wonderful wash comes in with an RRP of £3.99 for 250ml.
Jade
This 60’s inspired perfume offers a fruity, aromatic fragrance that is just perfect for everyday wear, it contains the top notes of bergamot, peach and galbanum with a heard of ylang-ylang, orris, jasmine and rose while the base is made from sandlewood, moss and patchouli.
Everything about this perfume from the box to the bottle and scent help encapsulate the idea of the 60s, with its retro feel and look they have managed to take something that perhaps could have been from there original range and bring it a whole new lease of life.
I wasn’t sure what to expect from Jade – would I like it, would I not? But it actually offers a really fresh scent, there is nothing to me that I cannot like about it, as it offers a perfect for everyday use fragrance that while perhaps isn’t too different from other available, it also isn’t offensive – so I can see myself reaching for this across the summer months.
Jade by Yardley London costs £19.99 for 50ml.
I am really impressed by this new look from Yardley and I can see it appealing to a whole new range of customers, so dust off those shelves and make way for the new look Yardley you would be crazy not to give it a try I have to say!
What do you think of this new range, can you see yourself using it?

The only product I remebber is the yardly talc, my mum used to use it. These products look nice.
Yardley always reminds me of my nan – looks like they have brought it right up to date
Great to see Yardley’s new image. Gone are the associations with spinster cat-loving aunties – oh, wait, that’s me!
i have seen Yardley products before but just never considered using it due to variety of smells
The fragrances sounds really ‘different’. And the packaging looks beautiful too 🙂
I thought it was for the older lady too! Nice designs but still could be updated a bit more haha
I like the new packaging. I have tried the Daisy stuff already and it is surprisingly lovely x
Yardley makes me think of my grandmother too, and I’m from the Caribbean! That said, my grandma was very glamorous and I imagine it’s still got that charm now improved through being vintage.
I am liking the sound of the blue orchid…may have to try it
I still associate Yardley with my grandmother and she died in 1966 aged 73! It must have something going for it to have lasted this long. I am glad it has modernised and the photographed items look interesting. I will have to look out for them in the shops.
Looks like they are giving it a decent revamp – I do think of my nanny, nice memories though and she always smelt good
Definitely not a brand that I would have thought about trying…butI would now! Thank you for sharing!
You’re so right about the stigma, it’s not a brand I would have thought of
Ooh I’m liking the new designs and the new scents – thanks for sharing x x
My god mum used to wear this. What a blast from the past
I’ve never tried these but they do look really nice. Not to pricy either!
I really like the new packaging. Yardley had become very dated and to be honest I thought they had disappeared from the shelves forever – obviously busy rebranding! Good on them – and fabulous that they are not overpriced like so many newer products.
i’ve never tried any yardley stuff, but the scents always seem interesting.
They look so pretty, I have never tried Yardley stuff x
Their new range is lovely and bright and very reasonably priced. I don’t know if I will ever be able to hear Yardley and not think of my grandma though.
Gosh, didn’t even know Yardley was still around! You’re right about association with older generations, but the style of the bottles and the graphics feel very up to date! x
I love the designs on those. They’re definitely more appealing now and the peony scent sounds lovely.
i actually have yardley polaires perfume and love it x
