Why Winter is the Perfect Time for a Spa Day
I often think over the fact that the spa days we have taken over the winter have really done me soon good.
There is something about them, that can really uplift your mood and bring you out of that winter funk.
So I think I really need to get thinking about booking one in during the winter. After all, for me right now really is the perfect time for a spa day.
Of course, there are many reasons why I believe winter is the perfect time for a spa day (such as those on the Voyage Privé website). If you are wanting to here some more, well here is just a few of them.
Why Winter is the Perfect Time for a Spa Day

The Weather
Now bear with me on this one, before you think running to the hot tub is just way too awful at this time of year.
Yes, there are those few seconds as you dash from the door to the tub that you think why on earth am I doing this.
However, honestly, there is something bracing about being in a hot tub in the cold weather.
What’s more, it is also likely to be less full of people, as many people will be thinking “I’m not going out there in this weather”.
Of course, not every spa even has an outdoor hot tub. Many are nestled inside next showers and steam rooms.
Meaning there is no reason to even worry about having to step a foot into the cold.

The Chance to Relax and Revive
Leading on from the weather, as after all, it can leave many of us feeling a bit out of sorts.
A spa day offers the chance to have a day where it is all about you.
Allowing yourself to relax and be pampered can really help, maybe even revive your mind a little.
After all, it can help to give a small energy boost and a bit of an uplift in your emotions at a somewhat hard time of year, allowing you to get a new view on the world around you.
It Doesn’t Have to Cost a Fortune
You may think that spending some time at the spa will cost you a lot.
However, the truth is it doesn’t have to cost much. A lot of spas offer deals all year round. These can allow you to go just for the day or spend a night.
What’s more, they can sometimes even include extras such as meals, treatments and drinks on top of access to the normal spa facilities. So do remember to shop around.

Spa Staff Can Help Uplift You
Before I went on my first spa break which included a treatment, I worried about all sort of issues.
Would the staff laugh at the fact I still get spots, would my size be an issue?
However, I quickly found that not only are they experts, but they are also there to help.
They want to get you feeling better, they want to help feel rejuvenated and they are most definitely happy to help with any skin issues you have when you go for a facial.
So for me, winter is the perfect time for a spa day.
It offers a pick me up, just when my mind and body can do with one and it doesn’t have to cost a fortune (you could even have a spa day at home) when you pick and choose packages to suit you.
What do you think about spa breaks, is winter a perfect time for a spa day?

I think I will look into a spa day! I tend to get quite stressed with work and I think it might help me to destress a bit!
I have to admit I’ve really missed going on one, I haven’t been since before Covid!
Great blog, I always tend to go for spa days in the summer and didn’t really consider spa days during winter before reading this but some great reasons to go in the winter think I might try a winter spa day for a change this year 🙂
Haha! Any time is a perfect time for a spa day!
It would be wonderful to go on a spa day, they are just so expensive round where I live. People should practice selfcare for sure though – life can get too busy
thank you for this. there needs a to be a shift because self care is essential, not extra.
That is so true – it really makes a difference!
I have never been to spa day before may have to take my sister for her birthday in december.
Oh you should definitely go for one – they are so rejuvenating.
My skin never fails at dehydrating because of the cold during the winter so yes, I agree a spa day is needed!
Winter skin is awful isn’t it – mine can get so sore.
The weather is so horrid at the moment that a Spa Day sounds wonderful!
Just had a spa day with my daughter really did feel pampered and revived and ready to face Christmas !
Oh that sounds amazing I would love a facial right now I have to say!
I have to admit I have never been to a spa and I have similar worries to you, will my size be an issue etc! However I love the sound of a spa day and your right a dip in the hot tub when its cold outside is actually really refreshing. We recently went on holiday and had our own hot tub on the decking and even though it was freezing cold we all went in the hot tub every day LOL! x
Perhaps we should get together and go! I’d be more than happy to spend a day relaxing and honestly everyone has been so so kind when I have gone which has left me feeling uplifted as well.
My birthday is just before Christmas and I always try to have a spa day around then – there’s nothing nice than relaxing at a spa when it’s cold and miserable outside x
Oh that is such a lovely thing to be able to do each year for your birthday!
According to me Spa are any time of the year. It relaxing need to get stress out of the mind. Winter is cold and dull and always stressful. A spa gift will be very nice always.
True they do, do you the world of good no matter the time of year.
Winter can be so dreary, plus so stressful with the holidays. I agree it is the perfect time for a visit to the spa!
It really can and for some reason, it seems to drag on as well.
I LOVE spa days at any time of the year but especially during the colder months. Its so soothing on the body when you’ve been in the cold xxx
It really can just help you relax and unwind and give you something away from the blues.
It is such a busy time of year. It can be certainly overwhelming! A spa day would be perfect for unwinding and pampering yourself during the winter rush.
It is one of those times when you can just get carried away isn’t it?
I love spa days they are perfect to get recharged . Often a couple of mini treatments is all you need to feel fresh and relaxed. When moods are low in winter A spa treatment is a great pick me up .
Very good advice! The wintery weather and the cold are not kind to my skin so a spa would make sense.
It is definitely a good time to pamper your skin with the awful weather!
Oh this sounds wonderful – a bit of pampering, especially in gloomy and cold weather, is just what we need.
Most definitely we all need a bit of a pick me up at times.
I’m lucky because the spa closest to me offers deals year round, just as you mentioned. It’s usually cheaper on weekdays so I try to move around my schedule to go then!
Oh wow that is amazing! Nice to have a spa nearby that does that!
Awww no thanks for winter, but you make it sound great with a spa day idea. I agree, winter is a good season for a spa day.
Winter is not good – one thing I hate about the UK lol.
With all that holiday stress, you really do need to make time for a spa day in the winter months. It helps you relax and make time for yourself.
Most definitely I think we can all get swept away with the stress around Christmas.
Oh, I need a spa day so bad. Wintertime skin is so hard to manage with the dry and cracking skin.
It is horrid isn’t it – mine does the same and it can get so sore!
oh i would really love a spa day to relax
There’s nothing like some time to just relax and look after yourself is there?
I completely agree! We tend to get the winter blues here and I always recommend a spa day or at least a tanning day. Something to help regenerate the body a little!
It is awful, isn’t it? The weather is just not conducive to feeling OK over the winter.
I agree that winter is the perfect time too. Nothing better then a nice spa day when it’s chilly outside. Nice to be able to relax, especially when it’s to cold to go outdoors.
It is just something that can really uplift your feelings isn’t it?
who doesnt love a good pamper pick me up!
Exactly and we all deserve one as well!
Your post made me smile as I am such a wimp I can’t bear the thought of being cold in winter, even if only for a short dash to the hot tub. However, spa days are such a treat that enjoying one in winter when there are bargains available and room to move is very appealing.
Honestly, if you ever get a chance to try the dash I 100% suggest it – you do get the Oh My! Feeling but it is worth it!
I agree winter is the best time to visit a spa, during the summer, I prefer being outdoors doing something fun and winter I love being pampered.
Yes! I sometimes find spas although nice in summer, of course, the heat can be overwhelming for some reason.
This sounds like a great idea! Nothing beats a hot tub in a cold weather!
It really is the most wonderful thing to do in the cold.
I’ve never been on a spa day before, but it does sound like something I’d enjoy!
I hope you manage to head on a spa day and enjoy it soon!
Winter is the perfect time for a spa day. My skin is always too tired and dry this time of year and it’s just so cold, a spa day would be a great way to spruce up my spirits!
It is the perfect time to pamper yourself inside and out!
I haven’t had a spa day in so long. It’s my birthday next month so maybe I need to hint at one as a birthday treat
Ohh Happy early Birthday – I hope you get a spa day as a present!
Can you believe I have never been on a spa day! I would really love to though! It is my birthday coming up so I might treat myself!
I hope you get to go on a spa day soon and you love every minute of it!
Oh my gosh, an outside hot tube in winter sounds amazing! Love the contrast but I bet its blooming freezing when you get out of the water to dry off!
You definitely want to make a dash for the inside haha! But it is worth it.
Used to have a day once a year where we had access to a complex, where you had the opportunity to use saunas, tubs and all which comes with it, but that stopped when it changed hands and came much too expensive to use now, but boy you felt a changed woman when you had this day, felt clean and regenerated, would recommend to anyone
It is amazing how it leaves you feeling, isn’t it? I was surprised the first day I spent at one.
I’ve never had one but would certainly consider it it must be good for anxiety especially the massage
They are really lovely days – pick a treatment which you will enjoy, I started with manicures due to my anxiety but hands up a facial is lovely too!
After Thanksgiving is over, and between shopping trips and wrapping presents, I’d love to have a full day dedicated to relaxation. A day spa visit would be a wonderful experience!
It is really lovely to just take some time to yourself and relax.
It doesn’t need to be winter to enjoy a Spa day!
A spa day is the perfect choice for some self care. Its especially relaxing during those cold winter days.
So so true. I am so tempted right now to sack off work and get someone to keep an eye on the kids and head off for a spa day
Yes do it! LOL Go have a pamper day.
Love going to the spa and have not been in a long time actually. Time is up. I need to do this. Also any season is good for the spa.
I hope you manage to get to go to a spa and have a good pamper soon!
Great points! Since my skin tends to be extra dry in the winter, I usually book more facials than usual. For me, any time is the perfect time for a spa day!
Ohh I love that idea – I hope you enjoy all your winter facials.
I really enjoyed reading this post. I love the idea of incorporating more spa days during the winter months.
It is such an uplifting experience when you do it while the weather is cold to be honest.
I personally think a spa day at any time of the year is a good idea 😀 I love spa breaks & days. I love to break up my christmas shopping break with a nice hotel with a good spa.
I haven’t been for so long – it is definitely something I need to give myself a bit of an uplift!
I have never been to a spa in my life. But winter is a great time to go, when it’s miserable and wet outside
Aw I hope you get to do something wonderful to uplift you this winter, be it a spa day or not.
Oh, I agree. ANY time is perfect for the spa. I really need to go. My skin especially needs the help in the winter since it gets so dry.
That is true, there are so many reasons to go all year around.
I haven’t had an entire spa day. But I did enjoy a nice massage years ago. If only it weren’t so expensive.
That is the downside isn’t it? I would love to be able to go more often.
Oh myyyyyyyyy a Spa break any time of year is great – and the outdoor hot tub – in the cold is brilliant – I can vouch for that…even if you can’t get a break – get a day away at a Spa … anytime 🙂
It is amazing isn’t it – I was so surprised at how nice it actually was!
Anytime is the perfect time for a spa day for me lol. The spa is a great way to relax, unwind, and refresh.
It is an amazing way to just relax isn’t it and just pamper yourself.
I completely agree! It is so important to look after yourself once in a while. Especially in these cold harsh months
It really is! It’s just so nice to have a bit of a pamper and relax.
Nothing like a relaxing day when it’s so cold! Great post.
Anika
