Why People Love to Travel to Warmer Countries in Europe
Travelling abroad is always a great idea, at least for me, because I like exploring different cultures, visit places that are nothing like home and meet people who have different habits than mine.
Travelling across Europe is perhaps one of my favourite ways to spend my vacations. To be honest, no matter how many European countries I have visited, I still feel like I could go back to most of them. Europe is an amazing continent; you get everything from kingdoms, rich history, incredible food, four seasons, and friendly locals that are always in the mood to help you.
I know that for most people the idea of a summer holiday is in a place by the sea, with a warm breeze, lots of sunshine and good food.
Personally, I always want to spend at least a few days in some lovely southern European country and soak some vitamin D, listen to the waves, and just relax entirely.
Spain, Italy, southern France, Turkey, Greece, and even the Balkans are favourite places when it comes to the south of Europe. Here are some reasons for visiting them.

Italy
It is no wonder that Italy is one of the favourite places for holidaymakers. It has it all from history to lovely and picturesque towns, turquoise water and beaches with black sand. My recommendation is the Amalfi Coast, Sicily of course, Rome, Venice, Milan, and the lakes in the north (Como, for example).
Spain
No matter how many times you may visit Spain, it leaves you with the feeling that you haven’t entirely explored it. This country offers everything from a desert, mountains, sea and ocean beaches, islands, parties, excellent cocktails, and food. Barcelona is a fantastic city, so I recommend it as the first city on your list. If you want to save your time and nerves, my recommendation is to book a professional tour (visit them here).
Gran Canaria
You can’t mention Spain without a nod to the beautiful island of Gran Canaria. Part of the Canary Islands, it is most well known for its black lava and white sand beaches. Located in the Atlantic Ocean and just 93 miles off the coast of northwest Africa, this island offers a warm holiday location year around. The island contains a range of locations to visit such as Palmitos Park, Maspalomas lighthouse and Maspalomas Dunes. With many wonderful places to stay such as this hotel in Gran Canaria, this will be a location you want to keep coming back to.

Greece
If you want history and some of the best beaches in the world, then Greece should be your choice. Greece is warm during most of the year (the season starts at the beginning of May and lasts till October). Athens is the city you need to visit if you love to learn something more about ancient Greek history. If you seek endless summer parties, then don’t miss the islands such as Mykonos. Greece has hundreds of islands that are worthy of a visit, but also a lot of mainland sites such as Meteora or Thessaloniki that are offering a great experience for tourists as well.
France
The southern part of the country (Cote d’Azur) is heaven on Earth if you seek a sophisticated yet playful vacation. Every little village is inviting (Èze, for example) and has an amazing view. Most French towns in the south are situated on rocks with a heavenly view over the turquoise Mediterranean. Nice and Cannes are the bigger cities while Monaco is a principality; all three exude class, charming streets and architecture and of course enough places for you to enjoy the local cuisine and wines.

Turkey
This country has some of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in the world. I put it on my list because the Turkish coast has some of the best resorts I have visited. Besides enjoying the beach resorts, you can also get to see historical sites such as Ephesus (which is a World Heritage). Turkey is warm and has an extended summer season, so you can organize your vacation from May to mid-October.
