What Makes a Broadway Show
When you have the budget for only one big trip a year, or want to go all out on date night choosing a spot to spend your annual vacation can be difficult.
But if you’re a fan of the theatre, your choice is easy, after all there is many different shows to choose from. Covering all different tastes and enjoyments.
Everyone owes it to themselves to visit Broadway in New York City or the Westend of London at least once in their lifetime.
When it comes to Broadway it is a fact that millions of people flock to this area every year to walk down this popular theatre district or explore the streets beyond the neighbourhood’s borders to catch an off-Broadway show.
Of course, your options for New York entertainment extend beyond these offerings.
You can catch an off-Broadway act that used to be performed on the Main Stem, or you can take the opposite approach: See an off-off-Broadway performance before it becomes a hit on Broadway’s main streets. Both happen with performances all the time on the streets of New York City.
Broadway is a street that runs north and south, and the Broadway Theatre District is a slice of this path between 42nd Street and 53rd Street. You can catch an official Broadway show at one of the 40 theatres dotting these blocks.
Dozens of productions are performed here annually, attracting millions of theatregoers throughout the year. Beyond these main Broadway theatres, you can head east or west down one of the intersecting streets to enjoy a live performance in New York City.
