The Perfect Sleep Area for Spring
Spring is coming, it officially starts on the 20th of March, so we don’t have too long to wait now.
I often find as the seasons change I want to make small changes around my home, ready for the weather change.
One room which of course is very important to me is the bedroom. Not only is the room of rest and relaxation and hopefully getting a goodnights sleep. But it is also a room I spend a lot of time in as somedays getting out of bed just doesn’t happen.
Think About Your Sleep Area.

Spring brings with it (hopefully) a turn in the weather. So your bed is an area you should definitely think about.
No matter if you are thinking of buying a new bed (if you are and happen to be in the area check out these great beds in wigan) or just in need of a new duvet then shopping around is a must.
Make sure you think about the room you have, the sort of temperature you personally like to sleep within and the style you love. All of the answers to these questions will come in useful as you buy the items you need.
Accessories.

While your bedroom should be a clutter-free area there is nothing wrong with adding in an accessory or two.
A throw at the bottom of the bed can be useful in case the temperature dips.
For me cushions are another must – I use them both to prop myself up in a comfortable position and to also rest my legs on overnight.
Curtains can make a huge difference to the room as well. If you need a darker area, make sure you look out for ones which offer blackout lining.
Ambience.

For me, the ambience of my bedroom is a big thing.
I cannot deal with pitch blackness, I need some light (thanks past). So personally I have a nightlight in the room, however fairy lights could also be used to bring in subtle lighting.
Personally as well, I like to use scents either via a pillow spray, balms or a diffuser to help me relax and unwind for the night ahead.
These are just a few of the ideas I do within my own bedroom area to make it easier to relax, unwind and sleep the night away.
However, what about you, I would love to hear your tips on creating the perfect sleeping area?

My perfect sleeping area needs to be dark and well ventilated. Love using aromatherapy oils too.
I don’t have any tips. I need tips for a good nights sleep! I do love the top photo with the photo cushions on the bed,
I have to admit I have so many cushions on my bed right now lol .
I love fresh bedding always helps me sleep, and a cool , uncluttered bedroom for peace of mind and relaxation
Oh I am with you there, nothing quite like fresh bedding!
would love a change
I have to have the hum of the ceiling fan going but no light … no snoring and the bed to myself… My sleep is very rare as I suffer insomnia……
Ash has insomnia and I only sleep due to my meds / fatigue – I still remember my insomnia days so very well.
Glad I’m not the only one that doesn’t like complete darkness at night..!
I love Fairy Lights in a bedroom that give a soft glow, they’re pretty and help you wind down by giving gentle light..
Aww, I love that as an idea! There’s something really soft and gentle about fairy lights.
I definitely to not have the vibe I want in my bed room. In the coming weeks I will be giving my bedroom a complete makeover so that it’s easier to relax in. I can’t sleep with pitch black or no sound so I put the tv on and put it on a timer.
It sounds like you have some plans ahead – I hope it all goes well for you.
Nice information
I love Spring, it’s probably my favourite time of year. and definitely a great time to give your bedroom a bit of an update!
I have to admit I’m the same it is such a lovely time of year.
I am so looking forward to spring now and am planning to change some of the soft furnishings for a new look
It is coming – or so I hope I have had enough of the cold and wet now!
I love my bedroom to feel cool so I always have the window open but I also love throws on the bed so I can be cosy! It’s so important to create a calm, happy space isn’t it?
It really is – it makes so much of a difference I think if it is a calming area to you.
Spring cleaning the bedroom is a must and changing the curtains . A different throw on the bed and a new rug liven it up. Love using aromatherapy oils too
The small things can really make a big difference can’t it to a room looks and feels to us.
These bedrooms look lovely some great ideas for spring thankyou
I know wouldn’t it be nice to have a room like those?
I really like this style of house. Recently I put a lot of green plants in my bedroom. Then I repainted the wall and put a dressing table.
It seems to be something a lot of people are saying about having plants in the bedroom I need to check that!
I have not long ago bought anew duvet, has like you some days I struggle to get out of bed
Ohh there is nothing quite like a new duvet is there.
I am the opposite, I need complete darkness to get to sleep and to stay asleep. Which is why I wear an eye shade at night, all year round. I also like quiet, but unfortunately my husband snores, so I also sleep with earplugs. I am so habituated to them, that even if I go away on my own to visit our daughter, and sleep alone, I still have to wear earplugs to feel like sleeping.
Oh dear – I have to admit I snore I do feel for my other half as he comes to sleep later than me often as he doesn’t sleep quite so much haha.
My perfect sleeping area needs to have plenty of reading books, good light and good music for me to unwind after a hard day’s work.
Ohh that sound like a really nice place to relax and unwind in.
We’ve just spring cleaned our bedroom, there’s definitely something about this time of year that gets me cleaning!
There is something about a clean place it always makes a difference I think!
Thank goodness winter is nearly over! We’re in the process of doing a deep spring clean! Pillow spray is our favourite for helping us sleep!
I’ve had way to much of winter now I have to admit – bring on some spring colour!
I can’t wait to get my bedroom ready for Spring. Although it will have to be in the new house – and it will be so exciting!
Ohh so exciting! All the new things you will be able to do there!
My bedroom is the place i go to relax and have some me time, but i love a dark bedroom and the window open when i go to sleep, and i have now got into the habit of putting some essence on my pillow.
I love a window open as well – fresh air is a good friend.
Some great advice, i try to add light to the house as much as i can, but theres something about spring that wants me to do it more, recently we have been putting plants around the house.
There’s nothing like a nice plant around the place – I have loads in the kitchen for some reason.
My husband has issues with falling asleep and staying asleep, regardless of the season. I put two plants in the bedroom (to help increase the oxygen in the room) and I got a white noise machine to help my husband relax and have a restful sleep. So far so good!
Ohh that sounds like some great ideas – might have to see if a plant or two helps me!
Is Spring really on March 20th? How is it still so cold? I feel as if I really do need to get a shift on! I totally need to revamp my room, but first I need to do a huge tidy up and finally clear out old clothes etc – a new bed would be ideal but the wait continues! Sim x
I know right it is coming so quickly! I would love a new mattress – I don’t mind our frame it’s a lovely wood one but the mattress could do with being replaced.
Lots of great tips for a good night’s sleep. Thank you for sharing with us.
Your welcome – I do hope they help some people.
Great tips here for a good night sleep as well as a calming oasis of a bedroom.
Our new attic room is finished and the decorating has begun, I can’t wait to make it a beautiful space to rest and sleep x
Ohh that sounds like such a lovely area you have! I hope you enjoy putting it all together!
I am the opposite, I need it to be pitch black with no cracks in the curtains allowing light through, it really winds me up, but that said, to be honest we need a new bed then I might sleep ha x
Haha, I used to be the same, but now I’m scared of the dark I’m such a strange so and so! Good luck with the new bed!
