4 Exciting Things to do in London
London is somewhere there is always something new to see and do in.
So with the weather hopefully on the change and the want to get out and do more things I thought I would share with you 5 exciting things to do in London this year.
Museums and Art Galleries.
London has a huge amount of museums and art galleries to explore and with so many choices it might be hard to decide where to start.
For instance, you could trace human history at the British Museum or go prehistoric and the National History Museum. Get hands-on at the Science Museum or check out Rembrandt and Van Gogh to name just a few at the National Gallery.
What’s more, many of them offering different insights and exhibitions as the years go by. As such it is always worth popping back to one, even when you have been before.
Theatres.
One of my personal favourite things about London is all the shows you can go and see.
For instance, The Book of Morman is still a huge show at The Prince of Wales Theatre, while Hairspray, The Lion King and Wicked are just another couple of the amazing musicals you can catch in the West End.
However, of course, it isn’t all about musicals.
Shakespeare’s Globe is an amazing building to go to; no matter if you are grabbing tickets for a tour or to see a play.
UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
London has a total of 4 world heritage sites and I would totally suggest seeing them all.
They include;
The Palace of Westminster. Once a royal palace, until much of it, was destroyed by fire. It is more commonly known as The Houses of Parliament these days. This area also includes Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Saint Margaret’s.
Kew Gardens. Since its opening 1759 Kew Gardens has served a roll in understanding plant life. Today it houses the worlds largest and most diverse collection of plants.
The Tower of London. Sat on the banks of the River Thames the Tower of London, it was built by William the Conqueror in the 11th century. It has since then served as a royal palace and residence. Offering a grizzly history of torture and imprisonment, it is also said to be haunted by many ghosts including Anne Boleyn.
Maritime Greenwich. Home to the Royal Greenwich Observatory and the National Maritime Museum. Here you can stand upon the prime meridian. While also exploring John Harrison’s original timekeeping devices among other things.
Buckingham Palace.
The London home of the royal family, Buckingham Palace is a must-see for many visitors to the capital.
From the changing of the guards which is an amazing display to see and is free. Just make sure you are there in time to get a good spot, as it’s always busy.
There are also chances to see inside some of Buckingham Palace itself, with the State Rooms, the Royal Mews and The Queen’s Gallery offering access to visitors at certain times of the year.
Of course, these are just a handful of things you can do in London, no matter what your tastes fancy, even if that happens to be cocktail classes in London or checking out some Instagramable locations there is something for you.

I was in London last summer, we visited whipsnade zoo it was amazing my son loved it there, we spent the whole day and still didn’t see everything 🙂

I’ve done most of these things but not Kew Gardens . I just googled some pics – what a beautiful place.
It is incredible – honestly worth a visit if you have never been.
Our last visit to Buckingham Palace did not coincide with their opening times. What a shame!
I certainly would love to visit London again given the opportunity.

It’s amazing all the different things you can do in London isn’t there!
I think because I used to commute to London daily I’ve avoided going back as a visitor! But I used to love walking through the parks, visiting Chinatown and finding great architecture off the main touristy areas
I can imagine if you have done that sometimes it would be a bit like oh no don’t that enough haha!
Been to London several times, and have seen Buckingham Palace, be good to visit some of these other places.
There is also something different to go and see isn’t there? Such an amazing city.
London is a great place to visit, I have Buckingham Palace on my list for this year if it opens its doors again

I’ve not visited London since I was in my teens There are some lovely places to visit there . I remember . I have a brother living in Dunstable would possibly visit sometime this year

The National History Museum is incredible isn’t it?!
I love gardens anywhere were we travel. I will look to see if the town has them and make sure I spend some time there. We all learn from these places we stop and visit.

I have been to Linconshire, Norway, and Paris. I hope to one day revist the UK and Norway. Paris, not so much.
Paris is an interesting city, I think a lot of people expect it to be more than it is for some reason.

My dream is to go on the Harry Potter tour in London. I’d love to go for the week so I could check out a few of the museums.
I would love to go to that as well one day – I’ve always worried about my mobility too much to go.
You have some great idea we love museums and The Tate Modern has some great exhibits. We really need to explore more of London though. We do not live far from Kew Gardens and have not been there in years x
