Ten Tips for Healthy Hair
Something we all seem to lust after is healthy-looking hair. However, it can often seem like it is hard to achieve, especially in a time when hairdressers haven’t been open for long periods and we are stuck at home doing who knows what to locks.
With that in mind, I have put together ten tips for healthy hair. Which I hope will help you feel your hair is in better condition.
Don’t Blow Dry While Still Dripping Wet.

It can be tempting to reach for that blow dryer as soon as you are out of the shower, especially when you are in a hurry, as you think it is time-saving.
However, dripping wet hair takes longer to dry than hair that has been towel-dried.
So before you reach for the hairdryer, gently pay your hair with a towel to remove excess moisture. This will help reduce not only the time taken to blow dry but also damage to your hair, as you won’t be using heat for so long.
Don’t Rub Your Hair.
If you are like me you grab a towel and rub your hair to dry it. However, this method can cause frizz and hair damage.
The best way to remove moisture from your hair is instead to rub your hair gently.
Don’t Over-Colour Your Hair.
Many people like myself turn to hair dye. Either for changing colour, or covering those greys. However, over dying your hair can cause a lot of damage.
There are however things you can do to help reduce any damage and keeping healthy hair, while still rocking the colour of your choice. For instance, if your roots need a touch-up, then only recolour them, rather than your whole head.
Also look for ammonia-free hair dyes as these are gentler than some other colourants.
Don’t Over-Wash Your Hair.
Many of us are over washing our hair and while we might be choosing good products such as Wella. This isn’t going to help if we wash too often.
We only really need to wash our hair a couple of times a week. Any more and we’re likely removing too much oil from our scalp, which leads to breakage and dry-feeling hair. To keep your scalp balanced, try using hydrating treatments and scalp moisturisers to naturally soothe your scalp and prevent irritation. Gentle, scalp-friendly ingredients can help maintain moisture without weighing hair down.
If your hair starts to feel greasy very quickly try using a dry shampoo to pep it up between washes.
Plait Before Bed.

Wondering what you should do with your hair when it comes to bedtime. Then go with a plat. The structure of the plait will keep your hair tangle-free and might just offer some soft waves come morning.
Other options include nightcaps as well.
Anything to keep your hair from becoming tangled.
Have a Balanced Diet.
You might not think it but your diet can have an impact on the strength and appearance of your hair.
Making sure your diet includes the 13 essential vitamins such as Vitamin A and E, will help keep your hair strong, shiny and healthy.
Care For Your Wet Hair.
When your hair is wet it is much more fragile than when dry. So you need to be a lot more careful with.
Hands up how many of us are guilty of brushing our hair straight from the shower.
Remember to try and allow your hair to dry first, before running a brush through it. In fact, even waiting until it is only slightly dried before brushing will give time for the bonds of your hair to strengthen again.
Keep Heat To A Minimum.
Well, all know that using heat on our hair is bad for it. No matter the type of tool you use on your hair, the intense heat can leave your hair feeling dry.
So why not try out different styles for your hair, which don’t utilise heat to make them work! And of course, when you do use heat use some heat protection.
Wash In Room Temperature Water.
I think many of us jump into a hot shower or bath after a long day. However, this isn’t good for your hair.
It might not sound so nice, but washing your hair in room temperature water is much better for it in the long run.
Go Careful With Products.

While some products can help your hair look its best, using too many can have the opposite effect. Weighing it down and even making it look greasy.
As a helping hand look to use just four products in total such as; shampoo, conditioner, protector and a styling product.
I hope these tips have helped you learn a little more about how to care for your hair.
