Sweets are definitely a guilty pleasure of mine. There is nothing quite like getting your hands on a good selection, to enjoy.

So when I was asked if I would like to check out one of the gift selections Swizzels have on offer and I just had to say yes!

Who are Swizzels?

Swizzels is perhaps one of the most recognised sweet brands in the UK. Offering sweets such as; Love Hearts, Rainbow Drops, Refreshers, Drumsticks and so many more.

As a brand, Swizzels was established in London in 1928. However, during WWII it was relocated to New Mills in Derbyshire. They moved into a former textiles mill, over 150 years old which had been rebuilt in 1883 after a large fire. This was originally meant to be a temporary move, however, they are still based there.

Over the years, they have made many different sweets, especially with Love Hearts to celebrate special occasions. Such as Will and Kates wedding and Prince George’s birth.

These days as well as being sold in stores across the UK, they also sell from their own online Swizzels shop. Where you can buy direct from the factory, with many items being able to be specially personalised.

I was kindly sent the Personalised Retro Premium Red Sweet Hamper to try.

This hamper is full of retro goodies and comes packaged in a red and gold hamper. For that extra special touch, you can also personalise the label to the inside lid. Inside the box is 794g of retro sweets, which includes favourites such as:

  • Rainbow Drops
  • Parma Violets
  • Double Dip
  • Squashies
  • Love Hearts
  • Refreshers
  • and more!

This delicious parcel of goodies comes in at £12.99, with the shop offering free postage when you spend over £6.99.

I was amazed by the number of sweets that were tucked into the box (this image just shows some), especially for the price.

Due to the range of products included, I think there would be something for most tastes. Due to the offering of a selection of flavours across the sweets.

Personally, I feel like a box such as this one would make for a really nice gift idea for a sweet lover.

When it comes to Swizzels Shop itself I am impressed by the wide range available. You can even choose to shop by vegan and halal-friendly options. With each hamper clearly listing its suitability for a range of dietary requirements. It is also easy to navigate and search on.

  1. Not sure when -or why – this trend for retro sweets began but I thoroughly approve. As a child I remember really enjoying Lovehearts with their short and simple words like SMILE and KISS.

  92. So many great items, always a family favourite range. I love the Parma Violets but would love to be able to afford a variety hamper as a treat for my son’s upcoming birthday.
