Summer Skincare Routine: Essential Tips for Glowing Skin
AD
Skincare is something that changes with the seasons, and with the warmer weather coming, it might be time to say goodbye to those heavy winter formulas and start to think of lighter spring and summer skincare essentials to help keep your skin at its best.
1. Radiant Skin Starts with a Good Cleanser

Sweat, sunscreen, and all that lovely sunshine can sometimes lead to clogged pores. So, a gentle cleanser and a once/twice a week exfoliator can be your first line of defence. Try and look for a cleanser that is hydrating and soft, and can melt away the debris of the day. A gel cleanser can often be a good bet for this.
When it comes to exfoliators, you are going to want to treat your skin to an exfoliation session no more than once or twice a week. Look for brands that offer natural ingredients without being too harsh (for instance, you could look for those that use rice, oat, and cocoa powder).
2. Hydration Station: Lightweight Moisturisers
Even if you feel a bit oilier in the summer, your skin still needs hydration. So, look to swap heavy creams for lightweight formulas, which absorb quickly and don’t sit on the skin.
One brilliant option? Explore the Clinique skin care range, known for its hydrating, skin-loving formulations which cross a plethora of skin types, there is often something for everyone within this much-loved skincare product range.
3. SPF (Sunscreen) Is Your BFF in Your Skincare Routine

I’m not even going to pretend this is negotiable. A broad-spectrum SPF, which also protects your skin from UV rays every single day, should be a must, not just through the summer months, but all year round. And if you want that golden summer glow without the sun damage, goGlow Spray Tanning offers a safe, sun-free way to achieve radiant skin. Remember, this is something you will likely need to reapply throughout the day, even up to every 2 hours, depending on the weather!
However, to make it an easy-to-add part of your daily skincare routine, you could look for primers, serum or moisturisers that include an SPF of around 30 or above, as well as protection against both UVA and UVB rays to help you start the day with good sun protection in place.
4. Go Light on Coverage
Heavy foundation? Not in this heat, thank you. For a more breathable finish, try a light coverage product like a BB cream or tinted moisturiser. These will still help give you a lovely, even complexion, but will also leave the skin able to breathe! Plus, many of these products (especially from Korean brands) come with added SPF to help you protect yourself against sunburn and sun damage.
5. Treat Yourself (or Someone Else) to a Summer Skincare Routine
Summer is also the season of birthdays, holidays, and spontaneous acts of kindness. So why not think about treating your mate (or yourself!) to a little beauty boost? Not sure what to choose? A gift voucher gives total freedom to explore skin care faves or find something new. It’s basically sunshine in envelope form that helps lead to nourished, radiant skin!
6. Cool Extras: Mist, Mask, Repeat

If you are after an extra boost, be it just because the weather is warm or you feel like a midday pick-me-up for your skin, then facial mists, soothing sheet masks, and cooling eye gels are your secret weapons when things get sticky. You can even pop them in the fridge for extra cooling power.
Final Thoughts on Summer Skincare Essentials
With just a few swaps and mindful steps, you can keep your summer skin healthy, happy, and holiday-ready. No matter if you are lounging in the garden or chasing down the ice cream van, your skin deserves to feel just as joyful as you do while also protected from sun exposure, dryness and premature ageing.

We’re lucky to have so many skincare product options these days but the basic routine, as above, never changes.
There is so much choice isn’t there? I often find it hard to know where to start.
Tinted moisturisers are good idea, you may have to use it a few times a day though.
This ia good idea – definitely something you might need to reapply espechially if it’s got an SPF

Oh no that’s not good – sounds like you have done OK though really if a dermatologist said it’s OK.
Some really great advice, really need to improve on my skincare
I have to admit I need to remember to do my SPF everyday.
I admit that I can be a bit lazy when it comes to skincare. However, the one thing I never miss, all year round, is moisturiser with a good SPF.
I really need to get better with it – I’ve started keeping one with my contacts so I try and remember to put it on after I’ve put them in.
I use spf all year round not just the summer
It is definitely something everyone should be doing!
