Summer 2023 at Yours Clothing

I find fashion hard. I’m not a fashionable person, and I like to be comfortable.

Then add to that the fact I’m plus size, and I often feel it is impossible to know what to wear and default to baggy tops and joggers.

Then Yours Clothing got in touch and asked me to pick four pieces of clothing from their collection, and I had fun choosing which items to try out.

Silver Espadrille Wedge Sandals

I was heading to a wedding a couple of weeks ago, and I thought these would be the perfect shoes to wear. Coming in an EEE fitting, they are perfect for wide feet and offer a true-to-size fitting.

They are a low wedge style with rope detailing around the edge. They are a slip-on with the top strap having a small elastic strip to one side.

The diamante detailing is sat upon a plastic strip, which I thought might become a bit of a heat trap and make the foot feel sticky. However, that didn’t happen at all.

I found these espadrille wedges comfortable to wear and simple to slip on. If you need a pair of shoes for a night out or a wedding, then they may work for you too.

Yours For Good Curve Mid Blue Pull-On Bum Shaper Lola Jeggings

I’ll put my hands up. I often live around the bungalow in a pair of leggings just for comfort. If I do get to head out, I want to look somewhat presentable.

Now, while they aren’t for everyone, as someone who can’t wear clothing with a non-stretch waistband anymore (thank you, fibromyalgia), jeggings are one of my go-tos.

These particular ones are said to be bum-shaping. However, I probably could have sized down a size or two in these, so I can’t attest to their shaping powers.

They have fake pocket details on the front (which is a shame) however, the pockets on the back are real.

These jeggings are comfortable to wear all day long as they’re made from a stretch fabric. They come in a choice of two colours, and sizes between 14 and 36 are available.

I can see myself buying a pair in the darker denim look.

If you would like to buy these jeggings, I would suggest sizing them down from your normal size. However, they are very comfortable to wear and are a must for any wardrobe.

Yours London Curve Cobalt Blue Pocket Dress

With summer around the corner, it is definitely the time of year when looser and cooler clothing comes into play.

One thing I hate about women’s clothing is it often doesn’t have pockets! I can’t carry a bag anymore, so pockets are useful to pop my phone into.

So I was really happy to see this v-neck maxi-summer dress with pockets. It comes in a choice of six colours, is around 140cm in length, and has a slit design to the sides at the bottom.

It’s made with a jersey type of fabric and is so comfortable to wear.

It also has an elasticated waist which helps give you a bit of shape while still being light and floaty.

For me, this is the perfect summer dress, as you can just throw it on and go. It also goes nicely with a pair of sandals, making it perfect for the beach.

Thinking about sizing, I would say it comes in true to size, so buy as normal.

Curve Mid Blue Ripped Jogger Jeans

Last but not least is this pair of ripped jogger jeans. These aren’t necessarily something I would normally go for, so I thought, well, why don’t I try something new?

Made from 100% cotton, with four functional pockets (yes, please), they have an elasticated waist with a drawstring. When it comes to sizing, these definitely fit more true to size, if not a little on the smaller side.

If you have issues with skin pain like I do or are between sizes, I would definitely size up and take advantage of the drawstring.

Another thing I would be careful with as well is where you put your foot when stepping into them. I managed to put mine straight through one of the ripped parts. This isn’t the end of the world, as they are ripped by design, but it did get rid of the white threaded parts.

These are perfect for the days you just want to be comfy. Adding an oversized t-shirt and a pair of trainers make for the perfect outfit.
