Sleep Comfortably with Sleep Origins
Your mattress. It is one of the most important components which allows you to get a good night’s rest. If it is uncomfortable then not only are you going to sleep badly but you’re likely to wake up feeling uncomfortable and also in pain. Over the years, Ash and I have had a number of mattresses. Some of them have been wonderful and others have caused issues, for a number of reasons.
When Sleep Origins got in touch and asked if we would like to review a Sleep Origins mattress, we did debate whether it would be a good idea or not as the mattress we had previously had been very good. In the end, we decided to go for it. After all, we could always switch them back (something we have decided not to do).
Sleep Origins 25cm Ultimate Comfort Mattress
If you are unfamiliar with the Sleep Origins brand they are from High Street TV (a brand I am sure we have seen either on TV or on the high street). They sell three different mattresses: the comfort mattress which comes in at 15cm in depth, the super comfort at 18cm in depth and the ultimate comfort at 25cm in depth. The right one for you will depend on how much support you require.
Due to my pain levels, I thought we would be best going for the ultimate comfort edition as this offers a double layer of award winning micro pocket springs in the support areas of the mattress. Once I had spoken to the team at Sleep Origins my mattress arrived within a couple of days. However, they didn’t want me to jump in and change my mattress straight away. They actually wanted me to use the pillow app to track my sleep for seven days on my old mattress and then track it again for seven days after changing.
I’m going to be honest here and say I saw little difference via the pillow app when it came to my sleeping pattern. That said, I’m not 100% sure it actually tracked my sleeping that well. I don’t have an apple watch and so for it to work I had to place it under my pillow, where almost every night it tracked that I took 15 minutes to fall asleep, which I know wasn’t always the case. The quality of my sleep also seemed to stick at around 60%. A couple of very high nights can be put down to the fact my phone dropped under the bed and for the whole time it was down there it logged me as being in a deep sleep.
So when it comes to using the Pillow app to track the difference in the mattress I really found that hard to do.
One of the things I liked about this mattress at first impressions were the small details. The mattress includes five different support areas. The two support areas combines award winning micro pocket springs which help to support your hips and shoulders, with the firmer lumbar support zone in the centre which helps to support your spine. I will admit that the first time you lay down on this mattress it does feel different, as the support areas sink to your hips and shoulders, while the lumbar support area holds your spine area firm. However, it is a very comfortable support system to have in place when you sleep.
The super and ultimate size of mattress also come with a weave of antibacterial silver in the top layer, which is a nice addition to see.
As I’ve said before, I am often impressed by the little things and the fact that this includes little pockets to the handles which are perfect for placing in a scent packet to help you snooze really impressed me.
If, like me, you overheat at night, you may be thrilled to know the spring pockets also include Fresh Cell Technology, which helps to keep your mattress cool and comfortable overnight. Perfect!
Overall, I’m really impressed by this mattress. It most definitely offers something different to others on the market and while I am sure it won’t be for everyone as some people do like a flat firm base, for me and Ash it has worked out really well.

The double layer of micro pocket springs sounds like it would be beneficial to me due to back problems.
Fresh Cell Technology sounds amazing to me as someone who regularly overheats while asleep!
The Fresh Cell Technology and how supportive this is sounds wonderful. I always have back problems so this would be great!
The 3 comfort levels sound good, think I would go with a medium, to keep my and my Partner happy! and the cooling tech, as I am getting a certain age and get hot at night 😉
The five support areas tick my box, particularly the lumbar support
This mattress sounds too good to be true, just what I need to help me sleep at night 🙂
The Fresh Cell Technology sounds fantastic as I’m prone to getting overheated in bed – particularly in the warmer months :o)
really need this type of mattress for my chronic illness would love it if it helped reduce pressure pain
I love the Fresh Cell technology that keeps your mattress cool. I also love the sound of the 5 vertical zones that give you all that added support
The five different support areas really stands out for me, my current mattress has little support and I definitely notice how my back feels the next day. So any mattress that has support areas is vitally important for choosing a new mattress in my opinion. That really stood out for me.
I like the sound of the Fresh Cell Technology. I’m having trouble with hot flushes at night so am in the process of changing all my bedding to wool duvet and “cool” covers and sheets. If the mattress could contribute that would be a bonus!
This sounds like a great mattress. I do like the sound of the 5 different support areas 🙂
Mattress looks fab, the cell technology and support areas sounds perfect for my aging body lol
i love the sound of this matress especially the different support areas so hopefully i wouldnt wake up with a sore and stiff back
I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks the sleep tracker things aren’t all that great! My fitbit quite often reports I fell asleep when I was sitting up reading before even trying to go to sleep!
The cooling technology sounds wonderful – I regularly get too hot at night, and I’m not even at ‘that’ age yet!
I’ve never heard of a mattress having 5 different support areas before and I’m wondering how these would work if you’re a person who turns a lot. For example, I often start by laying on one side then I switch to the other and then I might lay on my stomach. I often wake in the morning on my back. Does the mattress manage to support the body at every turn?
How Exciting! Ive got to say, the The Fresh Cell Technology sounds fantastic, i cant stand being to warm in bed 🙂 Good luck everyone – Thanks for a great giveaway!
I love the idea of pockets to put scented sachets in. I agree that it is the small details that make a product stand out and worth slashing out on
the two support areas of double micro pocket springs help to support your hips and shoulders, while the firmer lumbar support zone in the centre helps support your spine.
Love the sound of 5 support areas. My husband is a much heavier weight than me and it sounds like this mattress would give us both the supportbwe need. I also love the little pocket by the handle, what a thoughtful detail! Although my husband said he’d store the tv remote on his side! Great competition thanks for the chance to win.
Me and my husband have both struggled with sleep for a while. The springs that specifically support shoulders would be great for us.
Sounds a great mattress. The thing that stuck in my mind about your review is the little pockets to pop a scent sachet in to help you sleep
5 areas of support sounds just what I need. My old mattress is too soft and can sometimes cause backache
I really think this mattress sounds amazing
Every night I get quite uncomfortable because of heat so the face this mattress would help with that sounds amazing!!
