  5. This is so beautiful. Bittersweet, but our pets are our lives and we love them so it only feels right to honour and remember them appropriately!

    1. They really are aren’t they? We spend so much time with them so for them to be gone it just doesn’t seem right.

  6. Ugh ;_; this is too sad but its useful. Our pooch is going 11yrs and well, I can only hope for so long. When she goes I’d like to make something special with what remains of her.

  7. Reading your post was very moving and I shed tears for you, and also for me, as I have lost two of my old cats in the last 12 months. It’s a lovely idea to be able to keep our beloved pets close to us forever.

    1. I think this post made me admit she was gone, I’d been sort of in a weird space of denial like she had gone to stay at my parents or something. It’s just so hard losing a pet, isn’t it? They have some really lovely ideas for all budgets.

  8. I’m sorry for your loss. It’s so hard to lose a pet as they are such important parts of our family. I think your necklace is stunning and you will have her with you forever.

  9. I have some of my daughters ashes and have been thinking about the various jewellery that they can be carried in, such a great idea so we can be near the ones we love, pets or family

    1. They do have a website which is for loved one’s ashes as well so well worth checking that out if you are thinking of ideas.

  10. This is a lovely way to remember Sally.
I am fortunate enough to have a talented sister who did a beautiful picture of my previous dog & has just finished one of my 14 year old spaniel!
Dreading the time when his time is up!!
    ?

    1. Oh wow, that sounds lovely. It is so hard isn’t it – I just wish every day she was back here with me.

  11. This is such a nice idea. My cat will be 19 this year and this is something my sister and I have been talking about. We know that when it’s her time we want her cremated but don’t know what to do next. This would be a nice way for us both to keep her with us.

    1. It is such a lovely idea and it only needs a small number of ashes so you can keep the rest or sprinkle it in a favourite location or whatever you wish.

  12. I too lost my darling little cat last year and my husband and I can’t really get over it. This is a lovely idea so I could carry her around with me each day

  13. It’s so hard to loose a pet. It really is like loosing a family member. I’m so sorry for your loss of beautiful Sally, but what a wonderful and such pretty way to keep her close to you at all times xox

    1. It is awful isn’t it? It’s a being you have spent more or less every day with for so many years and shared so much with.

  14. It is a wonderful idea, I had not heard of it before reading your blog. I know how hard it is when you lose a loved pet.

  15. I lost my beloved old cat Neville suddenly to heart failure just over a week ago, and I’m struggling so much. My daughter is going to collect his ashes today, as I can’t face it. When I’m feeling a little better I would love to look into this option.

    1. Oh my goodness I am so so sorry to read this – sending you hugs (only if you would like them). It is awful it does get easier, you never forget though and they never leave you, Neville will always be with you in your heart.

  16. I too had looked into the turning of ashes into a diamond, but found it far too expensive an option, although my boy is old, he is laid across my legs snoring as I type, and I appreciate every moment I have with him

    1. It is so expensive so I was so glad when I came across this instead – so many ideas and it gives them the same outcome. Give your boy a stroke from me.

  17. its very very difficult losing such a big part of your life she will always be with you, in your memories you made with her

    1. Thank you – I try and remember all the happy things when things get back she was such a character.

  18. Awww it’s beautiful. Love the colour. A lovely way to have Sally with you. I didn’t keep Shortie’s ashes but kept some of his hair and have had something similar made from it.

    1. Aww that is so lovely – it’s amazing what they can do with their fur these days as well – I have another necklace with some of Sal’s in.

  19. I will suggest this to my friend. She recently lost one of her cats and I know she will love this idea.

I did her a picture of her cat in a cat frame I spotted in our local cat rescue charity shop and she was over the moon so I know she will love this

  20. I need to get one or two of these made. I’ve been putting it off for three years because I can’t bear the finality of opening Chloe’s ashes. One of these days…..

    1. It’s so hard isn’t it – it feels awful making that step – I’m glad my Dad helped well worth it in the end.

  21. The pendant is lovely and a beautiful memorial to Sally. It’s so nice that you can wear it and have her with you all the time. I keep my pets’ ashes in urns on my bedside table so that I can say goodnight to them every night, and also I speak to them when I dust their urns. But having something you wear sounds really nice.

    1. I have her urn by my bed as well – she was always snuggled on the bed, so it only seemed right she went back into the bedroom.

  22. I know how hard a loss of a pet is as I lost my beloved cat Garfield last June to cancer and I miss him everyday. I cry regularly and still find it very hard to come to terms with. The pendant is so beautiful and you will have Sal with you always. it is something I am considering doing with my Garfield’s ashes too.

    1. It is horrid isn’t it? I just can’t even start to think about what to do without her – this week has been stupidly hard, it’s like it’s become real for some reason.

  23. This is the sort of thing my wife would love. Mind you, we’re both devoted to our dog. Despite his long legs, he’s curled up between us on the sofa right now.

  24. This is beautiful Sarah, I only wish I’d known such a thing existed when my boys died as it is something I’d have jumped xx

    1. Thank you – honestly, it has helped to be able to have her with me at times. Never too late to get it done, I don’t think 🙂

  25. Oh bless you, im glad you got to receive this and they were a great company. Such a lovely idea to keep Sally with you forever.

    1. Thank you – it has been wonderful to be able to have her by my side still – I miss her so much.

  26. This is beautiful to keep forever as your memories of Sal. It is very hard when you lose a pet you’ve loved so much . I kept my dogs old toys and his collar and tag Even after 6 years I still wish I had him. Bereavement of pets are a big struggle just as much as losing our human friends and family. I know so well . It’s a comfort I think to keep something and sending hugs xxx

    1. It is so hard isn’t it – I just can’t even start to think how to move on, it’s really hit me this past week that she is gone and isn’t coming back.

  27. A lovely post and tribute to Sally. We lost our Katie to bladder cancer exactly one year ago on Feb. 21, 2019. We have her ashes in a lovely cedar box with her name engraved on the top. She sits on a shelf in the living room, surrounded by small mementos of her time with us.

    1. It is so hard isn’t it? Bless that sounds lovely I have the bulk of her ashes in the bedroom with a picture of her by it and say goodnight to her most nights.

  28. The pendant is gorgeous. It was emotional to read your post, as I’m thinking of my own elderly dog (he is 10 years and 5 months old). I hope the pendant offers you comfort. Sending lots of hugs. xx

    1. Oh bless it is so hard when they start getting old isn’t it? Seeing how they change and can’t do things they used to. Thank you so much ❤

  29. Sarah, this is a great idea and I am so pleased that you have it now so you can cherish Sally forever. I do not have a pet but will tell pet owners of it. Xx
