Sleep Comfortably with Sleep Origins
Your mattress. It is one of the most important components which allows you to get a good night’s rest. If it is uncomfortable then not only are you going to sleep badly but you’re likely to wake up feeling uncomfortable and also in pain. Over the years, Ash and I have had a number of mattresses. Some of them have been wonderful and others have caused issues, for a number of reasons.
When Sleep Origins got in touch and asked if we would like to review a Sleep Origins mattress, we did debate whether it would be a good idea or not as the mattress we had previously had been very good. In the end, we decided to go for it. After all, we could always switch them back (something we have decided not to do).
Sleep Origins 25cm Ultimate Comfort Mattress
If you are unfamiliar with the Sleep Origins brand they are from High Street TV (a brand I am sure we have seen either on TV or on the high street). They sell three different mattresses: the comfort mattress which comes in at 15cm in depth, the super comfort at 18cm in depth and the ultimate comfort at 25cm in depth. The right one for you will depend on how much support you require.
Due to my pain levels, I thought we would be best going for the ultimate comfort edition as this offers a double layer of award winning micro pocket springs in the support areas of the mattress. Once I had spoken to the team at Sleep Origins my mattress arrived within a couple of days. However, they didn’t want me to jump in and change my mattress straight away. They actually wanted me to use the pillow app to track my sleep for seven days on my old mattress and then track it again for seven days after changing.
I’m going to be honest here and say I saw little difference via the pillow app when it came to my sleeping pattern. That said, I’m not 100% sure it actually tracked my sleeping that well. I don’t have an apple watch and so for it to work I had to place it under my pillow, where almost every night it tracked that I took 15 minutes to fall asleep, which I know wasn’t always the case. The quality of my sleep also seemed to stick at around 60%. A couple of very high nights can be put down to the fact my phone dropped under the bed and for the whole time it was down there it logged me as being in a deep sleep.
So when it comes to using the Pillow app to track the difference in the mattress I really found that hard to do.
One of the things I liked about this mattress at first impressions were the small details. The mattress includes five different support areas. The two support areas combines award winning micro pocket springs which help to support your hips and shoulders, with the firmer lumbar support zone in the centre which helps to support your spine. I will admit that the first time you lay down on this mattress it does feel different, as the support areas sink to your hips and shoulders, while the lumbar support area holds your spine area firm. However, it is a very comfortable support system to have in place when you sleep.
The super and ultimate size of mattress also come with a weave of antibacterial silver in the top layer, which is a nice addition to see.
As I’ve said before, I am often impressed by the little things and the fact that this includes little pockets to the handles which are perfect for placing in a scent packet to help you snooze really impressed me.
If, like me, you overheat at night, you may be thrilled to know the spring pockets also include Fresh Cell Technology, which helps to keep your mattress cool and comfortable overnight. Perfect!
Overall, I’m really impressed by this mattress. It most definitely offers something different to others on the market and while I am sure it won’t be for everyone as some people do like a flat firm base, for me and Ash it has worked out really well.

I thought the review was good as you showed you were not sure at first. I liked the idea of tracking your sleep first. I struggle with mattresses as I get bad back pain. I would like to try this mattress
I think we’ve been lucky with our mattress so far considering it’s nearly 13 years old and we paid over £300 then. Love the idea of trying this new mattress out as I sorted my back problems out just over 2 years by losing weight but not sure if the mattress has something to do with my snoring (considering I’ve lost over 3 n half stone)
The fresh cell technology sounds fantastic , I love to be cool at night , always looking for things to help with this.
I like the sound of the support areas. Since having whiplash several years ago I’ve suffered with pain in my shoulder and neck so need extra support when I sleep.
My old mattress has been turned several times but it now needs swapping out, need a good king size mattress
I love the fact that this mattress will keep you cool and comfortable overnight. me and hubby both get hot but we keep heaters on as we got little twins in our bedroom. This sounds perfect, Thank you.
I always wake up with a stiff neck and numbness so I am interested in the two support areas of double micro pocket springs help to support your hips and shoulders,
I like the different support systems in the mattress.
Sounds like a dream come true and also sounds amazing
Fresh Cell Technology , I’m always really hot at night so this would be ideal for me.
I love the idea of a mattress that can keep you cool at night; that’s so clever,
Looks sooo comfy!
I have chronic pain, so knowing it worked well for you with similar issues is a great help.
Also, I have psoriasis and my husband has eczema, so the silver weave sounds great for helping keep bacteria off of the fabric.
the support areas, my partner has bad health issues and will often struggle sleeping, this would be a bonus for him
I have a very ‘complainy’ partner regarding mattress quality – so this mattress sounds like a dream! 😀
The Fresh Cell Technology sounds a brilliant idea, Im going through the menopause and get so hot I in bed.
The different areas of support across the mattress sound really intriguing! I suffer with back and hip problems so a quality mattress like this sounds great
I like that you can choose from 3 different levels of support. Of course I would go for the ultimate one.
I love the sound of the mattress. The antibacterial feature sounds interesting and a very good idea as does the Fresh Cell Technology.
You have mentioned you were skeptical which is how I feel too.
But after reading this blog I’m feeling more confident and would most likely purchase one in the near future
I suffer with bad sleep too, constant pains shooting through my legs, sometimes even the weight of the duvet hurts me. I have M.E./CFS Fibromyalgia so every day means pain to me. I have tried so many mattresses and pillows, and sleep sprays, you name it. After a bad nights sleep I cannot cope the next day with the pain I suffer so it is so important for me to sleep well. I will take a look at their website!
I love that this mattress matches your natural curves, giving in places over the hips and more firm in the back. I also love the antibacterial silver in the top layer.
that is has different support areas as im sure thats why me and the hubby struggle to sleep
it sounds very good; it`s important to me that any mattress I get has had a lot of thought put into it as it`s something that needs to last a few years at least
I like that it has different support systems as I suffer with pain from time to time which discourages me from sleeping. The little pockets by the handles to put fragrance in to help you sleep is a lovely little touch which I found endearing and unique. Although it may not have been as successful as you’d like, the idea of the app is interesting to monitor your sleep too. Had my mattress for 10 years so no surprising I having trouble sleeping. Would love to try this new technology x
