Sleep Comfortably with Sleep Origins
Your mattress. It is one of the most important components which allows you to get a good night’s rest. If it is uncomfortable then not only are you going to sleep badly but you’re likely to wake up feeling uncomfortable and also in pain. Over the years, Ash and I have had a number of mattresses. Some of them have been wonderful and others have caused issues, for a number of reasons.
When Sleep Origins got in touch and asked if we would like to review a Sleep Origins mattress, we did debate whether it would be a good idea or not as the mattress we had previously had been very good. In the end, we decided to go for it. After all, we could always switch them back (something we have decided not to do).
Sleep Origins 25cm Ultimate Comfort Mattress
If you are unfamiliar with the Sleep Origins brand they are from High Street TV (a brand I am sure we have seen either on TV or on the high street). They sell three different mattresses: the comfort mattress which comes in at 15cm in depth, the super comfort at 18cm in depth and the ultimate comfort at 25cm in depth. The right one for you will depend on how much support you require.
Due to my pain levels, I thought we would be best going for the ultimate comfort edition as this offers a double layer of award winning micro pocket springs in the support areas of the mattress. Once I had spoken to the team at Sleep Origins my mattress arrived within a couple of days. However, they didn’t want me to jump in and change my mattress straight away. They actually wanted me to use the pillow app to track my sleep for seven days on my old mattress and then track it again for seven days after changing.
I’m going to be honest here and say I saw little difference via the pillow app when it came to my sleeping pattern. That said, I’m not 100% sure it actually tracked my sleeping that well. I don’t have an apple watch and so for it to work I had to place it under my pillow, where almost every night it tracked that I took 15 minutes to fall asleep, which I know wasn’t always the case. The quality of my sleep also seemed to stick at around 60%. A couple of very high nights can be put down to the fact my phone dropped under the bed and for the whole time it was down there it logged me as being in a deep sleep.
So when it comes to using the Pillow app to track the difference in the mattress I really found that hard to do.
One of the things I liked about this mattress at first impressions were the small details. The mattress includes five different support areas. The two support areas combines award winning micro pocket springs which help to support your hips and shoulders, with the firmer lumbar support zone in the centre which helps to support your spine. I will admit that the first time you lay down on this mattress it does feel different, as the support areas sink to your hips and shoulders, while the lumbar support area holds your spine area firm. However, it is a very comfortable support system to have in place when you sleep.
The super and ultimate size of mattress also come with a weave of antibacterial silver in the top layer, which is a nice addition to see.
As I’ve said before, I am often impressed by the little things and the fact that this includes little pockets to the handles which are perfect for placing in a scent packet to help you snooze really impressed me.
If, like me, you overheat at night, you may be thrilled to know the spring pockets also include Fresh Cell Technology, which helps to keep your mattress cool and comfortable overnight. Perfect!
Overall, I’m really impressed by this mattress. It most definitely offers something different to others on the market and while I am sure it won’t be for everyone as some people do like a flat firm base, for me and Ash it has worked out really well.

The 5 support system sounds great and the pocket will definitely come in useful!
The pocket I agree on side is a key feature I like. I could store essentials in there or sleep aids such as herbal teas should I wake up in the night. The personalised service is good that they reccomend you yo try old matress for a week first and compare. The technology in the matress sounds good and it sounds well made. I’d love to own one to support my back.
Apart from the fact a brand new matress would be amazing anyway for us, I particularly love the pocket to put a scent in to aid relaxation. Again we dont have apple watches etc either but I like the idea of the app and sleep tracker. My husband gets too hot so the air fresh tech would be amazing. Its innovative and looks fantastic. Everything crossed!
I like the technology it includes in the mattress for staying fresh and cool and that is has the important pressure point Support. The pocket like you also claim really appeals to me. I could store medication in there and also essential oil bottles. It sounds an amazing mattress, and the fact they like you to track your old mattress first shows they are a good company that cares.
I like the sound of having antibacterial silver elements weaved into the mattress – for my hubby with chronic wounds this might bring improvement

The mattress sounds exactly what we need, thanks to kids I don’t get nearly enough sleep so the little I get I’d love it to be of quality , husband on the other hand suffers from chronic back pain as well as a dodgy knee so it’s essential he sleeps comfortably.
Everything just sounds blissful ……… different levels of support would ease those aching joints. But I think my favourite thing would be the Fresh Cell technology. I get so hot and uncomfortable at night – and there’s nothing better than fresh sheets and a cool mattress.

A mattress is a big investment, and you can’t return it if it isn’t right for you. This sounds like an amazing mattress! I suffer with constant chronic pain due to a number of medical conditions and a ‘normal’ mattress just doesn’t support me at all and which leads to very poor sleep quality so the fact this offers support in specific areas sounds a real bonus.

This mattress looks brilliant. Ultra modern, with extra details that would really help like the little pockets! The main thing for me though, is the 5 support areas. My husband has had a hip replacement and needs the other one doing now (and he’s only young!) This would help him SO much to get a good night’s sleep without pain. This sounds like something i would really like to try. My husband has a stressful job and often finds it hard to fall asleep. The extra comfort levels this mattress offers may go someway to help. I really like the little pocket on the side for a scent. He hates it when i put a plug in or a defuser in the bedroom but i think gentle scents can make a subtle difference to your quality of sleep

I absolutely love the sound of this mattress! I really was expecting the prices to be much, much higher as the quality seems really high! I think I too would benefit from the Ultimate Comfort mattress, as I experience pain in my legs & hips every single night. The various support areas sound like they could really help with the pain & hopefully allow me to sleep for more than a couple of hours at a time! The little scent pocket is genius too, I’m sure it’d make a great little hiding place for my headphones so the cats can’t chew them up!

This really does sound quite unique with it’s Fresh Cell Technology and little side pocket I could put aromatherapy oils or spray to help sleep. I have a lot of pain daily, worse at night when sleeping so the fact it keeps you cool is awesome too, as I also have hot sweats due to my age! I would love to try this out. It’s a shame the app didn’t work so well for you, but I wouldn’t use one either as I think phones should not be allowed in the bedroom as they can disturb you, stress you more etc. The proof is in the sleeping and this sounds perfect.

I had my right leg amputated on March 13th and have been sleeping on the sofa ever since. I’m suffering with chronic phantom limb pain which is being made worse by our dodgy old mattress! I started a blog prior to going in for the operation diaryofanamnputee.com and spend my days trying to stop things hurting. I found out yesterday that I need additional surgery, which is super! The cooling effect sounds very interesting, as even during the day I’m very warm (walking around in a t shirt in the snow scares some people) and the antibacterial lining is always a plus even more so is its hypoallergenic. This sounds like such a comfortable mattress. My 5 year old’s mattress isn’t that good, so I’d be tempted to give it to her. Though I’d also be tempted to keep it for my husband and me.
My partner and I sleep very differently, I like a soft mattress he likes a firm one. We compromised on our last mattress and I don’t get on with it (don’t know why I compromised, he could sleep standing up). The Fresh Cell technology in the Sleep Origins mattress was instantly appealing as I’m currently menopausal so having terrible sleep at the moment due to over heating and night sweats. I fall asleep quite easily, but wake and move around so much that it disturbs my husband. The 5 different support areas, sound like they might help support us both a little better so he wouldn’t get frustrated with my constant wriggling and last but by no means least, my little hand held fan would fit perfectly in that little pocket so no more nocturnal scrabbling around on the floor.

I am not sure that I would go for one of these to be honest but the Fresh cell tech is worth having as I too struggle to sleep when I am hot.

The ultimate sounds fantastic as I love a deep mattress. I have a problem with my spine, so the support it gives to that area would be great
I often overheat terribly so the Fresh Cell Technology sounds worth trying out along with the anti-bacterial silver – but most of all I keep trying different types of mattress in the hope of finding one that truly offers comfort – we like a softer mattress than average.

I have been looking for a new mattress since having to return an expensive New Marks and Spencers one a couple of weeks ago due to large plastic tags all over the top of it in the tuffs , it was awful and painful to lie on ( what were they thinking?) I absolutely love the fact that the support varies for the different parts of your body. I have long term pain too, and my husband has back issues, so this sounds incredible. Not so sure about the app, but my hubby does have an Apple watch so it might work better for him.

I definitely agree that your mattress is one of your most important possessions. I was always told by my Grandma that there are two items which you should splash out on, your mattress and your shoes… If you’re not in one, you’re in the other 🙂 I’m a terrible sleeper if the conditions aren’t perfect. I like that it came in a small box (so much easier to get up the strairs!) and that it has great zoned support for the spine and hips (I have sclerosis and arthritis in my spine and pelvis), but also that it has handles (such a small thing, but my current mattress is really dense and heavy, with no handles, so it’s really difficult to move or to even change the sheet!). Just a shame it doesn’t come with the gorgeous Sally too! 😉

I’m a good sleeper but my husband is not and often complains about lumbar pain, which is why I perked up reading this review. Our mattress is only just over a year old and for me it is much better than our old one but he still complains and says we need to change it again, which to me seems pointless and a huge waste of money. I was thinking that if he is still uncomfortable with our new mattress, another new one won’t make any difference but maybe Sleep Origins could provide the answer.

The different support offered for different areas of the body sounds good. My partner bought a memory foam mattress a few years ago, and I have been trying to persuade him to get rid of it ever since due the lack of support it offers.

As someone who suffers with back issues, I like that it has good back support. The neck and shoulder support is good too, as I occasionally wake up with pain there, presumably due to positioning.
I like the the fact that it has lumbar support for the spine but it is still comfortable.
The support system idea is amazing and I think ultimate comfort edition sounds really interesting for the people like me who suffers from back pain. This sounds like a great mattress for the price (I’ve looked at some that I’ve almost fainted when I saw the tag!). The pockets are genius. I can imagine popping a little lavender bag in there. And the fresh cell technology. I absolutely hate being too hot when trying to sleep so that would be a real bonus for me.
If you prefer it to your original mattress, that’s certainly positive. I also liked the lack of the words “memory foam”, although maybe I need to do more research on their website regarding that.. Would always be happy to try a new mattress though, as mine is too firm for my body weight.

The levels of support sounds great, I like a firm mattress to look after my back! It is a gamble buying a new one because you can never tell until you’ve slept on it a while. The last one I bought I’m really not happy with so would love to replace it!

I think we’ve been lucky with our mattress so far considering it’s nearly 13 years old and we paid over £300 then. Love the idea of trying this new mattress out as I sorted my back problems out just over 2 years by losing weight but not sure if the mattress has something to do with my snoring (considering I’ve lost over 3 n half stone)

I too get overheated in bed so this sounds like it would be perfect especially during the summer months . I would put a little pot of aromatherapy oil in one of the pockets with the lid pierced so as not to spill any I find lavender and chamomile relaxing.
