  2. I always used to wear high heels for parties, but now I tend to opt for ones with a lower heel (or even flats if I can get away with it lol). I’d choose comfort over glamour any day of the week! LOL

  3. I can relate. I took my heels off at the end of a dance filled evening at an office party. Someone thought it would be funny to take my shoes. I had to leave in my bare feet. The shoes showed up a few days later in a brown bag in my office.

  4. This happens to me all the time when I wear heels. It’s tough when you’re used to wearing flip flops throughout the year.

  5. I haven’t worn heels for very nearly 10 years now, the last time was New Years Eve 2006, and why do I remember it so well? I spend New Year’s Day having an operation to put my ankle back together! I don’t miss the ‘ouch’ at all!

  6. I can relate myself to such incidents so many times and heels have become the ones that I used much in the past during college life. After becoming a mom it is all about using them for parties and not much. Comfy shoes have become part of my tradition these days!

  7. It hasn’t happened to me at a party or out on the town, but I’ve had shoe mishaps in other settings that weren’t too nice. The worst is when the tip of a heel breaks, followed by something inside a shoe rubbing up against your toes.

  8. It didn’t happen to me but my best friend was in drag and we went to a Christmas party and you know drag queen heels are extremely tall. Well, we were about to go in and he walked across a piece of wood which was wet and went flying over and unfortunately the force of the fall broke one of the heels. He limped the rest of the night. It was one of the funniest things I have ever seen though x

  9. I used to wear heels all of the time. These days give me some flats and I’m happy. 🙂 I don’t know when it changed but heels hurt my tootsies now. Old age problems. 🙂

  10. Hahah this made me laugh because back in the day I used to take my heels off ALL the time when I was having a night out. One time I was walking around the races with no shoes on. Yep all class over here. I can’t even remember the last time I wore heels 🙁 #mumlife

  11. Whenever I go to a party I wear my heels and bring a pair of flats. Once the night comes to an end my feet are super happy to see the flats!

  12. This is 100% me, I love heels because I’m short and they look so chic. But I don’t wear them often and when I do, they huuuuuurt!

  13. I can certainly relate to some of these. I always look at photos before I go to bed. I love the holidays and getting lots of great family/friends photos.

  14. I see women in these towering heels all the time tottering up the road and just wander how they do it and at what point does it hurt!

  15. Lots of parties this holiday season. I’ve been invited to a few already but not in the mood to go out with sub-zero temperatures.

  16. I know what you’re talking about oh-so-well! I’ve walked to my car limping before from particular treacherous (but incredibly cute!) shoes more than once. My funniest “shoe mishap” story though was actually in a pair of flip-flops, believe it or not! They were leather ones from Target and the strap busted on my left shoe. I had both my kids with me and was BLOCKS from our car. I looked like such an idiot trying to walk with it back to my car! My friend and I laughed about it for ages.

  17. I love to wear heels until I experienced like in the images. I feel so shamed.. Lol.. Now if needed to wear heels at the party I always bring extra flats..

  18. This is why I am thankful for those foldable flats that became a trend some time ago. It’s really convenient when you have a small bag and you’re wearing killer heels for the night!

  19. Ergh this is me at every party!! I’ve started bringing a pair of flat shoes along with me to change into half way through the night!

  20. It’s been such a long time since I’ve been a Christmas party.
I do remember them though – I would always end up taking my shoes off and dancing without them LOL Always had a spear flats in my bag for the journey home though 😀

  22. I have never worn heels because people always say how painful they are. One day I would like to try it out, but I think I would fall on my face.

  23. I used to run through Birmingham in flat shoes, and then switch to heels outside the venue. I also managed to get a heel trapped in a seatbelt and broke 3 toes falling out of the car. So many shoe mishaps.

  24. I’ve had a couple of tumbles on nights out, I’m not sure if it was the shoes or alcohol! I try and either take a spare pair of flat shoes! xo

  29. This has been me on and off in the past, sometimes it just takes standing in shoes for a few hours for them to hurt. On a daily basis I ted to wear flat shoes as they are far more comfy.

  30. I so relate to the story in the graphic. I wear 99% of the time flat shoes so when I get on my heels, my special events, by the end of the night I want to throw them off as they hurt my feet so badly. If we could only have the comfort of a flat show in a pair of high heels, haha

  31. This is why I am more of a flat shoes kind of girl, whilst I still say owch when I get foot ache, it isn’t through sky high heels x

  32. I love the way heels look but I hate how much they hurt me when I walk or try to do anything. I can relate to all of these except I’d probably walk to the cab with my shoes in my hand haha x

  33. I feel this so much! I love the look of high heels, but the pain at the end of the night is not something I look for.

  34. I think my days of wearing heels are pretty much over now. I can manage wedges and my ankle boots have a block heel but teetering around in platforms or (heaven forbid) stilettos ? Is definitely a no-no.

  35. Yes, I think ever woman can relate to the pictures. I have had shoes that have hurt my feet so bad, that I swear my feet were numb when I finally got home to take them off. I try not to do that to myself now.

  39. To be fair, I’m having the ‘owch’ moment about 3 minutes after arriving at the party – I’m useless with heels! I’m slowly getting better, trying to wear them to occasions where I can sit down lots and don’t have to walk long distances, haha!

  40. I always take my flats with me when I go out, just in case! I think my most unfortunate shoe mishap has to be when my heal broke on the stairs when I was out xx

  41. Ha ha I have been known to walk home with no shoes on after a night in heels, I also have some fab flat slippers that I take out with me

  42. I love wearing comfy shoes. But when I go out dancing I do wear heels, but I make sure I take a pair of roll up pumps that fit in my bag, so when my feet do start to really hurt I can just slip these on

    1. Those roll up shoes are great aren’t they – I used to hair a pair not sure what I did with them though.

  43. I bought these low boots that I thought would look really good with the leggings I had. And within two days it was a parents that they were the most uncomfortable shoes I’ve ever worn.

  44. In my younger years, I used to live in heels. I used to be able to work a 10 hour day in them and not feel a thing. But now a few hours in them for a party and that’s about all I get out of them!

    1. It is amazing how some people can do that at times, the closest I ever got was platform heels at school I think.

  47. i love the party season. i learned years ago to make sure i wear cute yet comfy shoes. when your feet hurt that can upset the entire night.

  48. I’ve discovered this this year 🙁 My always trustworthy boots suddenly really hurt me this year when they’ve always been fine before!

  52. The worst thing that ever happened to me was wearing a pair of super painful shoes because they were cute. What was supposed to be a short “stop in” turned into a night of being on my feet in those torture devices!

  53. Sarah, this is so funny because it is so true! I recently made a trip to pick up an item for my mother-in-law at a store which sells orthopedic shoes. I will admit to having an entire conversation with the store clerk about how nice it would be to wear those comfy shoes. As we grow older, comfort seems to be so much more important than looks on our feet.

    1. I have to admit I once tried on a pair of crocs now I hate how they look but oh my goodness they were so comfortable I brought a pair haha!

  54. This is me, all over but sometimes I keep some flats handy cos girrrl anyone knows dancing for 6 hours consistently isn’t all that in heels!! Last time I got a really bad sprain cos I didn’t see a dip in the road and my ankle rolled but off those came for the flats which injured the ankle more lol
